I got thrown at a show once cause my Canadian x is retarded and bucks when hes excited :P
but he usually keeps going but this time he rooted, bucked twice, i got thrown a good 2ft in the air + his aprox. 5 ft, so I fell about 7ft to the apparently really hard ground. I was just mad he twisted his foot and I couldn't jump the next day, even with a really sore butt! Haha

@SuperGimom whoa, you'd shoot a horse for bucking off your daughter? really? I'm 14 and I can't count the number of times I've fallen off, many because of my own STUPIDITY. it may not even be the horse's fault. safety, yes, but good riding, too.
I just got bucked off my Percheron/Quarter cross. Major bruising internally and on spine but glad I was wearing a helmet, as you were. Looking into ways to deter bucking.
wow. I would have shot that horse if it did that to my daughter. There are a lot of horses in the world, but I can't replace my daughter. I'm sure all you touchy-feely horse people will be hugely offended - you all need to get a dose of reality and get real. This gal came close to being killed here.-
@SuperGimom If you cant handle the risk You should not ride. The fault is with the rider not the horse. The answer is in finding out why the horse bucked and correcting the problem as in saddle fit? bridle? is there a tooth problem? poor training?ect.
@SuperGimom she actually doesn't look like she was in all that much danger. She probably could've landed on her head if she wouldn't have moved but most horses are well aware of where they are stepping and will do EVERYTHING possible to avoid squashing their person. And.... most riders (I said most so dont attack me! lol) fall because of something they did wrong not the horse.
wow... lucky that he didn't get you. i was thrown once and got kicked in the head. eight stitches, a concussion and a shattered helmet later... funny enough the horse threw someone else off the next week and broke her arm :|
i watched this video like 8 times and i see no bucking................?? i didn't see anything of the sort until after you'd already hit the ground and that was just little crow hops. glad you didn't get kicked in the face though at the end because you woulda been down for the count.
I'm so happy to see someone wearing a helmet. That could have been a nasty head injury to go with the bruises and scrapes you probably got. I hope you're okay x
haha. the funny thing is that he didn't even buck until after you hit the ground. i know a woman who has a percheron. it seems like the safer ones are the really disciplined ones that have started their working career pulling carts and then ridden. hers is alos super duper lazy. lol
Ouch! I've fallen off of an 18 hand perhceron, and messed up my ankle pretty badly. I mean they're good natured, but when the get excitable, thats a lot of horse to control.
When I saw his foot coming at my face, I rolled under the fence, it was a kneejerk reaction. I kept him for another year after that, worked with a trainer. We had another accident, he was a runaway with me on his back and I bailed off, took my ankle a year to heal after that.
Blimey - bad enough being bucked off but then to kick out at you, that's awful. Glad you were OK - ish

This is why I am re-homing my 3 1/2 year old Percheron. He acts the same way & I don't want to get hurt with that powerhouse.
