these kids ruined it for themselves, how come other children managed from the same schools managed to get somewhere in life? they were all provided with the same opportunity but they ruined it
I think it's a great idea that self important little gobshites that demand "respec" for doing fuck all apart from being self important little gobshites and saying "innit" a lot are placed in separate schools. It would be even better if those schools were somewhere near a Japanese power station.
Some of the kids on this programme are absolute wasters. It's not just that they're a bit rowdy, un-attentive , or disrespectful but their sheer gall to believe the world owes them a living.
After having some reservations about this progamme last wee (episode 1) I am starting to come round to this idea. The kids are the most difficult, unmanagable, and disruptive you could imagine. Each one has the potential to disrupt a whole class and probobly has, effecting everyone elses learning. If you turn around this minority of seriously disruptive pupils you could improve the results of an entire school.
Ok i was one of the students here & let me to tell you by saying this complete programe was complete bull. This programe shows excatly why this generation / society is going down more and more each day. Complete lies, all they care about is getting money to make a t.v programe to get veiws to get more money, none of them actually care about changing the education system etc, if they did then they showed it very poorly. I have so many reasons behind this.
I bought a pack of sausages from sainsbury's yesterday. It had jamie oliver's picture on the front. On the back it said 'prick with a fork'. I thought "i can't argue with that!"
I find the premise for this programme quite naïve and potentially very insulting to teachers. Just becaus these are celebs, does not make them teachers. I started a project filming real teachers in real classrooms to make a series of videos of observations that could really help develop teaching and learning instead of just entertaining viewers. I will keep watching, and keep my mind open…curious to see where this dream school goes! Don’t follow a script Jamie, keep it REAL!
@queentoasteater Thanks for you interest...yes I have filmed primary, secondary, post compulsory and vocational lessons now. Often schools get them to prepare for inspection, so I had an Ofsted inspector write reports so teachers can watch the video first, discuss, then compare their judgments with his...
This is a very personal project to me, one that I think really benefits educators...I used to teach A levels myself.
fyi, just so there isn't any confusion for those who read this, I'm now 20, also just simply changing the education system won't help the entire generations who have been mass produced by this failure of a country.
Children are practically a blank canvas by the time they start learning and absorbing things around them so if they grow up to be failures then it is the fault of parents, teachers and government. It as nothing to do with children and you can't blame them for wanting to deflect bullshit from their minds if they're forced to try and learn it every day as I discovered afterwards that most if not all of what was taught to me at school was wrong.
Sorry but Iv seen the first episode. As usual they use the typical classroom formula, which quite frankly just doesnt work. We need to change the way we teach from scratch and stop failing the children.
@PurdyBear1 PS We need to look at theMultiple Intelligences (Howard Gardner) and start streaming children into groups so they can learn the way the naturally do.
Im 16 and was forced to leave in year 10 after being attacked at a bus stop and was almost pushed under a bus then told i was going to be stabbed.,i was expected to pass everything i had taken for gcse with high grades. But this is acutally almost normal behaviour for a lot of kids in schools in London, probably even worse the closer you go to the center.Theres a complete lack of wanting to learn because what they teach is completely boring and useless and thats how we all thought.
Yet another Jamie Oliver Programme on kids letting the world think that All Britain's teenagers act like this. Only kids that have wasted their education and act like total morans, show no respect to anyone can apply. How about Kids from under priviliaged families that have worked hard , sat in classes full of these morans and came out with higher that expected results. When do we see these kids on TV NEVER!! These kid would appreciate being taught by these teachers but never get the chance
@marsh2306 Well done for calling a huge portion of the UK's children 'morons', I'm one of these so called morons and I'm getting private tutoring in art which has given me far better 'education' than current school system has ever done. I have also been practicing martial arts since I was around 13 years old and they taught me far better than the schools ever did.
It isn't the children that's the problem, it's the teachers and the system.
@Lethn You miss the point, I know children that have gone to state school who have pushed themselves and made sure that they come out excellant results. Do we see programmes on these kids, NO we do not and that was my point. Putting these disruptive Morons on TV ups the viewing figures!! The kids themselves say they wasted their time at school mucking around, then moan when they leave with no qualifications. My opinion is that you cannot blame schools and goverment but parents and the kids.
@marsh2306 my god!!!! EXACTLY!! i was explaining that to my friends!! its as if u have to be rubbish now to be lucky... pff.. i hate to see these kids, the way they talk and stuff just make me sick! they are given second chances that they clearly dont deserve and are still acting like bastards... i mean its as if they have to be proud to be like that.. and of course yeah blame the education system.. im sry but the education system did not tell u not to follow in class and act like delinquants
What does he want to do exactly with this? What does he mean by 'dream school'...he's gonna build his own school and be the headmaster? I don't get it....
What in the bleeding hell qualifies Jamie Oliver of all people to front a show like this? And what qualifies any of the celebrities he has picked to teach children in a classroom environment?? I sincerely respect them as experts in their own fields but 'star teachers' they are not and have never claimed to be. Teachers train long and hard, most often through postgraduate courses, to learn their craft and to suggest that other people could walk in from the street and do it better is an insult.
@nataliehun What qualifies Jamie Oliver well, the fact that he owns a social enterprise and does talks for TED.com, one of the most inspired visionary companies out there, the fact that he has influenced parents and teachers and changed the countries eating habbits in schools, he has taken on socially diasdvantaged kids and made their lives better through inspiring them and had his own issues with learning. The fact that , he is a visionary and has an open mind ,its a shame you do not!
@thepotatocod Can I ask you if Jamie has improved school dinners? I'm 16 and still at school, and when I go get something at break all I can see is butter soaked toast, bacon sandwiches and sausage rolls, for breakfast! Yes Jamie is a good chef, but why does he need to act as if he's the prime minister?
@grantapuslafsalot Yes he has improved them on the whole, obviously not at your school which is a shame but his team of people is small and trying their best ! Does he want to change food everywhere ? of course! Jamie and other young social entrepeneurs are more in touch of people your age. People such as politicians who are academically brilliant often do not possess the social skills and emotional intelligence that people like Jamie does. Everybody is skilled in different areas. ....
Music is Orbital - Kein Trink Wasser it's in my favorites. Whilst your there check out my other vid's, ignore the local history stuff and see the unicycling madness.
@Googlystube As long as he is promoting a good cause i don't see how his specialised field in food should be a preventive measure to him presenting a show like this. Hes got children of his own and is reputable for his family-orientated shows. He is young, ambitious, famous/notorious and charismatic...all of which are essential qualities to attract the much needed attention to an otherwise dead show.
The music is an old track and as the advert stops it properly drops like you won't believe, we just don't get to hear it here. I used to play it all the time in a friends old car with a 15" sub in the back. I've just forgotten who does it although i think it's Jazzie B but I'm not sure and the name of the track I don't know.

Jamie, what don't you understand about this concept?
Political Correctness, something very similar was used in the Soviet Union.
