@MrSikwithit I haven't heard an Akra slipon in person but I have a Two Bros. slipon on my 08 ZX6R and a friend of mine has a Yoshimura slipon for his 07 ZX6R, so I've heard those two exhausts running side by side.

The Yoshi pipe sound a little softer and higher pitched, while the Two Bros. is a littler deeper and is louder. Under hard acceleration the Yoshi pipe is very audible but doesn't make your ears bleed, while the Two Bros. screams more.

Both are good sounding pipes over-all.

Are you happy with the sound and performance? I have the same bike and i am in the market for a tough-sounding exhaust, power is not important as the zx6r is already scary fast. Would you recommend this slip-on or do you know of something better? From what i can tell from your Vid, it sounds way deeper than the stock exhaust. Help1 Thanks for your input!

Cool bike. Same as mine. word of advice. Ditch the rear break bottle n pipe and fit a HRC tube looks much better, opens up the wheel area a treat.

When you see "off road" or "racing use" only on the box, that usually means that, technically, its not legal for street use.

Slip-on exhaust usually means that you've lost some torque (as there is a servo that gives the engine lower RPM umph) but have lost some weight.

Full exhaust systems take out the cat &, aside from potentially db, are federally illegal for street use.

hey man, read the box before you put it on. It will say "for off-road use only." Slip-on's, in my opinion, really don't do jack except raise the noise emissions. Don't crack your shit around the cops, you'll be fine. You just don't want to give them an invitation, you know what I mean? Performance-wise, noise is no better than an HD dude gutting his baffles.

no there is just a delay between the sound and the video...so it looks like he's revving when his hand is off the right handle, but if you watch the needle on the RPM gauge it goes up and down before you hear the sound.

personally i'd go for kawasaki ER6-N..my dream bike! :) the 2009 ER6-N has the fuel gauge while the 08 only has the LED thing..

Go with the Ninja 500R if you want a street bike. It's a great balance between handling, reliability, and you'll learn a great deal on it before moving up to a supersport if that's the way you want to go. I don't recommend a 600 or 1000. The 500R is an awesome bike and it's what I'm starting out with also. I'm having so much fun, give it a shot.

Well, there's a lot of reasons why you shouldn't start off with a 600. Most insurance companies won't even allow you to have full coverage (comprehensive & collision) on a sports bike (600/750/1000) until you have at least 3 years riding experience. Those that do will charge you up the ass. Having liability only is SO damn risky, especially on a sports bike (most stolen) and on top of being a new rider (collision probability). In the end, it's not worth it.

Sport bikes cost a lot more than street bikes. We're talking anywhere from 2-5 thousand USD. I got my 500 for only $3100 with 1000 miles, it was practically new.

Weight isn't an issue. If anything, sport bikes weigh LESS and handle better than street bikes because that's what they were built for.

The power can be an issue if you're not used to it. A 500 is much more forgiving than a 600.

Maintenance and repair is another issue and yet again, cost is a factor.

You have to think beyond the vanity.

cause i have been riding 250cc 4 stroke dirt bikes for 3 years, but still, i will be a newby to street or sport bikes. and yes you are right. i went and got a quote from and insurance comp. and liability is only 253.00 a year and full coverage is 2,300.00 a year. big difference. but i just want one, to get experience and for fun, i will never do stunts on it. just to go to the store or to work. but yea i don't want my bike stolen.

Sure man. I started on a 02 GSXR 600, then 01 Honda CBR 929RR, and now 05 GSXR 1000. It only has as much power as you give it. If your stupid, it doesn't matter what you get, you will still get fucked up. Be smart and you will be fine. Start with a 600 from years 2001-2004 if you can afford it (youll grow out of a 500 real fast). Good luck and ride safe.

the ones called 636 are just that, 636cc's as opposed to the traditional 600 ccs . The 07 onwards 6r's are all 600ccs and not 636cc's
