Thieves target catalytic converters in Northeast Tennessee

4runner owners Beware!! I got mine stolen last night right in front of my house. When I started it I thought the engine was gonna explode, took me a while to figure out what was going on. Sounds funny to tell people about it. And I know these thieves will keep doing it! I read about some "anti-cat-theft" locks like Cat Cuff and Cat Clamp, but jeez those are way too expensive. So I just went to home depot and got myself a 5-feet chain and a lock, wrapped around the cat with the frame, works well!

my catalytic converter was just stolen 7/6/08 while i was working. the bill from car X was $639.00 the insurance company wants to depreciate the amount. i have a 9mm and i am on the look out for someone doing this sort of thing. i am mad as hell and i am not going to take it anymore.

Because the catalytic converter contains Platinum witch was a high market price worth more than gold!

I just had my catalytic converter cut out for the second time last week. The first time, they used a sawsall. The second time, I thought I'd be ready for them, but they used a pipe cutter and I couldn't hear a f-ing thing.

This happened to me - aholes! Go get a job!

I was thinking about moving to Kingsport...but now that I've found this video, I will have to reconsider. I don't need to be victimized AGAIN.
