I have tried to explain this to a friend his tv show(s) are filmed several weeks in advance leaving more then enough time for editing and thats all it is. its nothing but fancy editing,camera tricks and actors in the crowd.
He's entertaining to watch on TV, but once you see a live taping, you're respect for him as a magician will dramatically decrease. And yes he uses A LOT of camera tricks. Cut and paste, clever editing and stooges
Lol, this is great. I guess some Criss Angel lovers just can't stand it when someone disses him. In fact, I witnessed him perform 4 of his tricks from season 4 and each time, they had to cut and restart about 3 times. Plus the people involved in the tricks weren't part of the "live crowd" that had been waiting hours to see him
@ShamusMcCrary correct on that one my friend, in fact on one of my trips i saw him perform that exact trick. no running away, no crouching or hiding or whatever this guy claimed was the secret.
@AnE000002 I actually saw him live once also. I went to the Creamation trick. They shot it twice, the first time they showed him still under the sheet, then out of the blue they had to cut...then they shot it from the begining again but this time didn't show him under the sheet (so he could sneak into the holloween costume). When you watch the trick, they spliced in a small camera shot of him under the sheet but in the main shot, it's different. He does use camera tricks...it's sad.
@AnE000002 also, I saw him do the card under the ice trick. Same deal. multiple camera shots, had to cut and "re-do" it about 3 times and the kids involved weren't part of the crowd. There were actually people in the audience booing.
If Criss Angel stuck to doing good illusions instead of just making fake movies, he'd be a more respectable magician.
@minusrhs well i dont know if thats true or what, because every single time ive seen him hes done real tricks, no camera cuts or nothing you mentioned. i saw him levitate, a floating card trick, and watched him vanish and reappear several people. so i have no clue what your talking about buddy.
I personally don't enjoy Criss Angel, but really? Discussing why Criss Angel's magic is fake? LMFAO That's like discussing why the animation in Avatar isn't real. Everything magicians do is fake, and aside from toddlers, everyone knows it!!!! LOL Seriously, magicians are entertainers, tricksters, professional deceptionists, whatever. I should put up a video discussing how fake Forest Gump is!!!!! Idiots like this definitely make me feel better about my life.
@magicabbie The conversation wasn't as much about the fact that it's fake as it was about the ways that he fakes it. Also, take a look at some other comments on here. Clearly not EVERYBODY knows that magicians are all faking it. There are some that still believe! :P

Angel is a hack, always has been. He makes the profession into a joke taking away from real magicians and slight of hand artists like Copperfield or Houdini. He's just another guy who loves attention.

actually, Criss Angel use to rock. Now he's just a camera trick, stooge using hack.
Now he's just failing miserably at his stage show in Vegas. I use to like him, but now he's just making "movies" not magic.
(by movies I mean trick shots, cut and paste, clever editing, and so on.)
