Thank you for speaking out about this. Unfortunately, part of the problem is that doctors end up policing each other, and in some case, it parallels what's been happening with pedophile clergy... where they're just sent on to another parish to then become someone else's problem.

I've seen this happen myself... where a highly dysfunctional doctor was given a glowing letter of recommendation in order for them to get a position out of state. There is also little power that an impaired physicians program can do to stop this... aside from making recommendations that they don't go onto another position when they clearly haven't addressed the issues that brought them to an impaired physicians program in the first place!

There are all sorts of problems needing attention among physicians.... some of which goes back to their training, which is often much like a hazing and an attitude among superiors that since they had to go through it... then the residents will too! You've got doctors that are even going as far as to collect their kid's urine and then inject it in their own bladders prior to a random drug drop! The entire system is out of control, and I'm very glad to see that others are speaking out about it!
