really heart-felt slightly depressing but really engaging song, strange end though with the 'we could be killers just for one night' which for me seems to be a nod to David Bowie's 'Heroes' and the 'we could be heroes just for one day' line
@nebock CASIOTONE for THE PAINFULLY ALONE... its casiotone by the painfully for the painfully alone... must be why these songs touch my soul to its deepest saddest stretches.
Oh my god, What if we had an accident, Oh my god. Til' your dead. That's how long you're a parent. Until you're dead. You know I meant what I said, I think you'll be a good mother. But, honey look at us now, we barely support each other. Take the pill. I know it makes you crazy. Take the pill. Call in sick. I'll get some movies. Call in sick. I know your mom was your age when she had your brother. But honey look at us, how could we support another? We could be killers just for one night.
This song is indeed about them not being able to support a child and they are going to kill their child with "the pill." Hence why the song is titled Killers. Pay attention to the lyrics very closely and you'll understand.
I don't think it's about abortion, just about birth control and fear of parental responsibility, but who gives a crap, it's a good song. Stop reading into songs so much, just enjoy the music!
@raggamuffins13 Isn't that the point of meaningful music? Read into it- figure out what they're feeling or what they meant and what it can mean to you. They make music to express themselves and people listen to music becuase it influences their mood or they feel like it expresses them. Enjoy the music- discuss your opinions in a civil way. Its a rather nice thought.
Does he say: "Till you're dead, that's how long you're a parent..till you're dead" OR "that's how long you're apparent..till you're dead." I know the first one makes sense with the song, but when i first heard it I thought he was saying 'apparent' and I loved that line. Just wondering what other people think...
this song could literally be no more depressing

@raggamuffins13 I dunno.
I think it may be about failed birth control and now they want an abortion or something.
Because the abortion pill usually takes a day to do so yeah.
And the song is about killers,I doubt its about PLan B.
I dunno.
I love the song though.

@sidddyyy it's 'til you're a parent. thats what i hear anyway. and apparent wouldn't really make sense in a song about abortion. xD
ElectricBreath 1 year ago
@ElectricBreath it's not about abortion. it's about the morning after pill, you moron.

@MacbethTilDeath Interpreting song lyrics differently than you makes me a moron, then I'm happy being stupid. (:
