He must fly often to Singapore for treatment, like a poor rural peasant who must trek a long home from the hospital in the big city, because he can not afford to live close to the hospital. @ThePen077 You must be delusional, In 2008 ZANU PF lost out to Tsvangirai, and that was Mugabe controlling the ballot box. He disputed it and remained president, allowing a so-called power sharing deal with Tsvangarai and Mutambara. That doesn't seem to be 70% of Zimbabweans that love him!. To be quite frank your comment 'under the rule of whites' is questionable. At present Many african nations are commiting the most brutal acts to each other in the DRC, Rwanda, Uganda.Somalia etc.

@elghian Correction: The law says you need to have more than 50% of the vote to win an election in Zimbabwe. This new law was voted for in 2004 by both MDC and Zanu PF MPs. No one had more than 50% because there were 3 candidates. There was supposed to be a "run off" between the leading 2 contenders i.e. Mugabe and Tsvangirai. Tsvangirai COULD have won but he decided to boycott the election as advised by his Western buddies. Dumb move. Mugabe went ahead with it anyway and declared himself pres!!

Specifically Article 110 of the Zimbabwe Electoral Act of 2004.

Morgan Tsvangirai in his autobiography admitted that he didn't know about the run-off clause. Also, apparently none of the MDC lawyers had told him or anyone else about it.

So they went on to accuse the Zimbabwean government of 'stealing the election'.
