  • 6:11 I wouldn't joke about that Richard! LOL

  • I wonder why the artillery in Sharpe's series never used grapeshots against the infantry. It would be much more effective.

  • @ThePalnik because they don't create stunning visual explosions making it harder for them to show it... otherwise all you would see is the cannon go off then a bunch of extras fall do screaming leaving a lot of viewers confused

  • For some reason when I see Gaston I think of him as a french Sgt Schultz.

  • "sharpie's Whore" as a certain hakeswell would have called her

And we will c why now

  • napolean disliked this, as did general calvert and his fat mate.

  • @Rushy1989 I am General Calvert of his Imperial Majesties guard and I love that Sharpe fellow good soldier he is... do not compare me and my poor Gaston to those 3 cretins who dislike this video... we ate men like that in Russia. Though in Lousiana there is food a plenty shame his Majesty lost but me and Gaston like Sharpe and Harper survived the war to be great men. :D

  • I think Sharpe is not the only one who went into battle today. Bravo I am sure both sides lost many soldiers on this comment page....

Bonaparte would be proud, as would Lieutenant General Calvet, you all fought to the end.

I wont say encore though.... *shakes head*

For the record besides being pretty and cute Sharpe married her to save her from her family. She would have done well to remember that, and that actually as a national hero she was well below his station.. countess anyone?;)

  • would pay 10,000 to get a peek.. just one peek

  • pfff i don't like jane. teresa was much better and ramona was sweet. but jane's a real bitch

  • splutter @Songsmirth I think you got it wrong again. I'm 39. I love Sharpe and I believe I've read every book and and seen every film.

  • @johnnybriggs118 for as much as it matters I've posted about this today on facebook. I try not to be racist or sexist. If I have it right I'm on your side. I suppose if you're kicking my arse you're not kicking someone else's.

  • @johnnybriggs118 songsmirth

  • Some wife to threaten her husband like this. Wow. He's fighting and she's counting the money. At least that is what I think she's doing. She's confused me from the beginning. He was a way out for her and I think she was attracted to him but her first reaction to him when he said he'd marry her was repulsion. Someone beneath her. And she seemed to accept him because of the other woman. As though she was scoring one over on that other woman. Maybe I'm just being an old biddy. lol Songs

  • It's such a shame that Jane's such a money-grabbing bitch, because Sharpe really does like her, and they seem to get one quite well. At least, until she pootles off with all his money, that is... !

  • i have to agree, she has a tremendous rack,

  • @johnnybriggs118 Kiddo, it gets tiresome to read you and other teenage boy's thoughts. Boys that have lied about their ages. Do you think people respect you for it? I notice your name and then I block it. I also will take note of what you say in the future and discount it as the words of a young, immature boy who doesn't use a filter. Please think about it. We all know women have breasts.Woop. I'm wondering how your mother would feel if she saw your comment. Not proud I guarantee you.

  • oh sharpe, you're gonna regret trustin' her yer money... she turns into devious greedy bitch almost instantly after all that money's come into picture. poor sharpe:(

  • i love how sharpe has completly forgotten that he has a daughter

  • @11Cheesewaffles he hasn't, she's adopted by her mother's family and he never sees her again (though he does also have two more children which arn't mentioned in the TV series)

  • SWEET BLOODY WILLIAM!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Did one of those soldiers blown up by a cannon round at 8:23 actually say BUGGER! or is it just me?

  • @DogDogCatDog Clear as a ships bell :)

  • ...and make way for king louis PHILLEPE. It should be Louis XVIII, Louis Philipe didn't rule until the July Revolution of 1830...

  • Thank you soooo much for uploading these :-)))))))....I realy like these good UK war-costume-action-dramas like the sharpe films unlike a lot of crappy US action sh*t with explosions portraied of today!

  • No. 1812 turned out to be a draw which mantained the status quo ante bellum with the Treaty of Ghent. The British failed in the NY and New Orleans invasions, and the US failed to take Canada. Both sides won in a sense though.

The US wiped out the British indian allies, assuring a clear path to westward expansion. The British regained lost territories with the treaty, and were able to lessen taxes at home levied to offset US privateer raids on trading and could concentrate on Europe's frnt

  • Why did that mortar fire twice?

  • Karma gets her in the end!

  • @rmas32 What did he expect? She's a Simmerson!

  • She's weak minded and soft willed, selfish and self-centred, disloyal and shallow...

that's just how she's supposed to be!

  • @Meymeygwis but it drives me fucking crazy!!

  • I bloody hate jane.

  • @mtbskiier92 but my lord she is hot.

  • @nounever agreed

  • Shopping list already Jane?

  • 7:19, that laugh from Sweet William basically means ''Tosser'' lol

  • I prefer the old Calvet

  • war be over? dumb bitch Country is fighting the USA too at that time.

  • @Dogmeat1950 yeah, and the soldiers freed up from fighting the French, immediately get shipped to America, where they will proceed to continue to embarrass the American Army until the Battle of New Orleans, where they will get their asses handed to them by a band of frontiersmen, freed slaves, Indians and pirates. Irony.

  • @Isildun9 um....Dude. the British army that burned Washington D.C got it's ass kicked weeks later in Maryland, that's were the USA gets it's Anthem from. British lost a good number of battles during the war of 1812. also got to remember the U.S Army was very knew only about 10 years old. at the time, since after the Revolution the USA disbanded all it's Military and got rid of it.

  • @Dogmeat1950 Ah ha, very true, but it is a proven fact that the British Army was winning most of the battles on land, while we held the advantage at sea, as our Navy had been bloodied and tested in our conflict with the Barbary pirates of North Africa. And while it is true that the Army that burned D.C. was later defeated at Ft. McHenry, commanded by Lt. Colonel George Armistead of Virginia, the soldiers that attacked New Orleans and fought the battle on Jan 15, 1815 were veterans of Waterloo.

  • @Isildun9 ya it's about right. the Great lakes fell in control of mainly the U.S Navy the British did Control most of the Waters waters on the East Coast but when the USS Constitution got out it was hell for the British. since she had amazing hull for the time period. it was a back and forth war.

  • @Dogmeat1950 Very true, it was rather back and forth. I just find it irony that our greatest victory on land was won, after the war was actually over, and had been for about three weeks. I have enjoyed our debate, my friend, and I applaud your knowledge of History. It is truly a rare honor to meet some one who's knowledge of the subject is a match for my own. Thank you, sir.

  • @Isildun9 hey same here. and thank you.

  • @Isildun9 Just read the debate and it sucked. You two kiddies have no knowledge of history, and the United States got pwned by the British in 1812 by the way.

  • @MajBlood The best bit? One of them claiming the British at the Battle of New orleans were veterens of Waterloo ....lmfao :)

  • i would of put my cash in a bank.!

  • a fellow from the field artillery gave me a law book to wipe my arse with

  • A promise hum what oh sorry wasn't paying attention (eyes drag downwards).

  • Niiiiice rack.

  • tits be damn... jane is a slut...

  • Jane may be a complete psycho bitch....but those tits kinda make up for it tbh...

  • Gaston! how many times have i've told you i don't want coffee!

  • Sharpe's: Is it a frog? Is it Duco? No! Its a pair of amazing tits, I must surrender at once!

  • @wakesk8r88 bang on ol boy :D

  • I love how 1 brigade seems to be no more then like 50 men...

  • God I hate the word "tits". I wish you guys would use "breasts" lol.

As in "Jane might be a right bitch but my lord does she have a smashing pair of breasts."

Probably why Sean Bean married her.

  • @artemisshock How about splazoingas, boom booms, proposal inducers, man's best friends, or milk machines? Breasts sounds so clinical.

  • @ThatsMrMoronToYou I prefer those to "tits" as well. :)

  • does anyone know the order the series? I can't keep up with the change of women in Sharpe's life: Teresa, then jane was it? then Ms Gibbons. andnow it's Lucille a french woman? when did he go to Normandy? Am really confused.

  • @suziq4ever I think it was Sharpe's Honour, where he had to prove his innocence of murdering a Frenchman and stealing the French garrison's paychest. Ducot set him up. Lucille shot him.

  • @ThatsMrMoronToYou i think it was the murder of a Spaniard

  • @suziq4ever Gibbons was Jane's maiden name

  • I-I'm sorry, Jane may be a bitch of the first order, but i can't get over how bloody perfect her tits are

  • jane might be a right bitch but my lord does she have a smashing pair of tits lol

  • @kiely456 you gotta love those slutty 19th century dresses

  • @kiely456 It will most propably be due to the fact that corsets were extremely common in the 19th century, and they have a tendensy to, shall we say, push things upwards ;)

  • @kiely456

Hahah brilliant. She sure does. THUMBS UP!

  • @kiely456 So many of you armchair boys. I get it. You're hormornal but I get tired of you speaking of the bits of a woman. 77 of you who are so desperate and people who can give a thumbs up without anyone knowing who you are. Sad lads. I'd bet if I went to all of your channels you'd be teenagers. ho hum :) Songs

  • @Songsmirth actually my friend im a 28 year old man, and i've been watching sharpe since it first began, and i've very sorry if my comment offends you but quite frankly i don't give a damn lol, your probably a little virgin who has never even seen a pair of breasts...but nevermind mate you'll get there oneday ;), now take your little gay hissy fit somewhere else

  • Well said, sir, I say! Well said!

  • That close i dont get wht french do not use grape shot...

  • I guess next chapter its going to be Sharpe himselfe to be replaced...lol

  • why do they keep on replacing actors!!!! It's soooo stupid!!! And what happened to Cooper and Tounge

  • The actor who played tounge apparently fell in love with the actress who played Terasa, but she (the actress) in short didnt like him back, he couldnt work on set with her been there so he left. Thats what i heard from a good source on set.

  • @Obraxes what really happend is that Paul Trussell really didn't want to play the part of tounge anymore so he just lefted.

  • Gen. Calvet ?

  • Cooper's actor left after Sharpe's Gold (don't know why) and IDK about Tongue.

Cooper's apparently killed in the novels.

  • Empire waists FTW!

  • Reserved certainly, but the sharpe in the novels is still noble. He also comes across as a lot more terrifying in battle than anything sean bean can come up with

  • thank you so much for uploading!

  • sharpe is a sucker for a nice pair

  • @j3parrots what guy isn't

  • How come Calvet has hair in this episode?

  • who is the girl?

  • jane

  • Where's Nairn???

  • if Ducot is a major, why doesn't he have men and not fighting in the battlefield rather than what he does here which is acting as an inteligence spy

  • Ducot's rank as Major is meerly there for the sake of formality and also if he wishes to take command of troops from other generals or officers in the field to fulfill his own objectives.

  • Lord Wellington15, There were several Highland Regiments who wore a green jacket. Seaforth, Argylle and the Imigrants Battallion to name a few.

  • King Louis Phillipe? Some one didn't do their research, Louie the !8th was Napoleon's sucessor. It was not until the july revolution that Louis Phillipe, Duke of Orleans took the French throne.

  • Any of you boys out there. 'were the marry whore....

  • i just bought the book!!!

    I'm lovin' it! :D

  • i like the hornblower books

  • @ 7:26 there's a highlander in green. Did they ever wear green?

  • Not to my knowledge, but then again, some regiments may have worn whatever they could lay their hands on, economics being what they were late in the conflict. Too, I think the Highland Rifles may have worn green over their kilts, more a Lovat green though, I sort of remember seeing it in a museum somewhere when I was a boy.

    But that was ages ago...

  • I'm not all that sure but I think the green meant that man was a piper. and he did have bagpipes. If you look @ 7:22 when Frederickson starts to laugh. just opposite the screen at the edge past Harper's face you can see the pipes.

  • the cannon at 7:55 or so fires twice!

  • a common thing, among untrained cannoneers. if they don't press the powder hard enough, not everything explodes right away, and the first explosion ignites the second, as soon as there is oxigen in the barrel again.

  • WHORE!!

  • Which Sharpe book, is the one where he goes to America?

  • Sharpe's Devil.

  • Did they make a movie of that?

  • They broke off more of the book storyline by making Sharpe's Challenge and Sharpe's Peril instead.

  • Would you reccomend the sharpe novels? The only Cornwell I've read is 'Azincourt', and quite fine it was - guresome in the description of battle. I'd hope and assume the Sharpes are just as gory and vivid in their description of battle.

    Would you say so?

    As someone who's read

  • I'd recommend you try and take out Sharpe's Rifles or Sharpe's Eagle out for starters. Give either/both of them a shot and decide if you want to proceed on. Rifles because it starts the main tale of Sharpe and introduces characters. Eagle because it is the first book released for the series.

Azincourt was indeed good. If you want to stick with archers for now though, check out Harlequin(Archer's Tale in U.S.), Vagabond, and Heretic.

  • Thank s for the info, Opinionman93!

I think I'll check out everything you've just reccomended, though probably the archer based ones first - I want to finish watching Sharpe so I've compleatly ruined the story for when I read the books :)

...There's something majestic about raining hundreds of thousands of arrows on your enemy which makes for an interesting read!

  • check out Sharpe's trafalgar. Does a great job of describing naval warfare. It's awesome.

  • Yeeeesssss read them!!! They're really good.

  • oh gosh I got the names confused, sorry. I meant Teresa. Really tho, If I was married to Teresa and she was killed, hands down Id never marry again. She was so bad, mountain fighting guerrilla style and beautiful. This girl does not even come close to living up

  • and why the hell didn't they send the sharpshooters up before the brigade charged the hill the first time to pick on the artillery?? very poor command

  • I'm sorry, I only say this cause I love this series so much, but how does sharpe go from ramona to this girl?? and what happened to his daughter?

  • Ramona was never Sharpe's girl. Ramona is Harper's girl.

And Sharpe's daughter that he had is with his late ex wife's Grandparents in Portugal.

  • I THINK his daughter got thrown off a bridge.(Heard it from some one else)

  • no, she went back to live with teresas family after teresa died. It comes up in sharpe's ]peril when he meets a son of hakeswills

  • I had say this before, but again: "Thank you" ^_^

  • ur all rong e saved it cuz wat eles is he ment to spent money on when hes fighting duh#

  • where the heck did he get the ten thousand guineas?

  • He killed and looted a Sultan as an enlisted soldier in India. It's in the books.

  • Nah, he lost every penny of that, stolen mostly and the rest taken when his first wife and baby died. The 10,000 Guineas came from the battle of Vitoria, he and Harper obtained a lot of cash from there. After he lost that money to Jane he was living off the money raised from the jewellery sold by 'Maggie' his friend from a London rookery before he joined the army.

Check 'Sharpe's Honour' and 'Sharpes Regiment'.

  • Biggest mistake Sharpe ever made in his life was to trust that harlot Jane and give her legal documents to all his money....although I must say Abigail Cruttendale DOES have a really great rack! I certainly separate the part she played in the movie from real life, she's a really terrific actress.

  • Personally...

I'd have left my cash to:

    a) Harper

    b) Hagman

    c) Harris

and only THEN the wifey. lol

  • Well if Sharpe kicks it, I would say its a good bet that Harper, Hagman and Harris would be dead as well.

  • @saelaird And they would have stayed loyal! :p

  • @saelaird

I agree. Too bad what happened to Sharpe is still happening all the time to men in the military.

  • Wow, all his money? But women are evil...

  • i love sharpe it's one of the best movie series i ever seen this and john wayne

  • Thank you very much for posting - I know how much effort it is and we all appreciate it.

Still want to kill that Jane bitch though!!!!!!!

  • never trust a woman with ur $ unless she's got ur kids

  • I think you mean, unless you've got hers :P

  • WTF!?! Watch 8:25 you see some men get blown up, listen and you hear them say "BUGGER"

  • "Wellington wants you to take that hill for him, and I hate you for it!!"

    LOL :)

  • Here comes another Fop! 6:55

  • Oh Sharpe! Why did he have to leave Jane in charge of all of his money? Baaaaddd idea :(

  • ShinigamiTiger, you are a fabulous person. Thank you!

  • Thnx for skipping Mission!

  • Thanks for posting this! I have not seen this one as yet.

  • mission's already up mate
