Heres the big question here. She says if you like the plan given to you by you're employer you can keep it. But if healthcare is free and public, why would your employer even keep your healthcare plan in the first place? So in the end you can't' keep what's given to you by your employer
As far as I know the public plan is not free.. you will still have a premium. It will just be more affordable than the insurance that is currently available. If your insurance company wants to compete they will have to lower their premiums over time as well.. which means you will also have cheaper insurance even if you don't switch plans.

Lets say this plan cost around $1,000,000,000,000 (as estimates are known to be more like 1.5T) thats still a $2,500 cost if averaged out to every American. Now are you going to tell me that 47 Million Americans are going to split the bill? I doubt it.. so who's going to front the money if its 100% paid for.. thats why Congress cant settle on a cost. As far as I know the money will come from a variety of sources.. just cutting down on the fraud in health care as it stands will save a great deal of money. Obama has said that he will not do anything that is going to take money out of the pockets of the working man.. and I don't think he will. I personally do not have all the answers.. Next time there is a health care forum you should participate and ask your question. They touch on cost a bit in this one, Wed I think there will be another.
I think Nancy truely believes what Obama has said about the bill, but then again i believe all the sheeple believe what Obama says. It's so very absolutely clear that this is not about healthcare reform at all. It's about government take over, pure and simple. I would like to ask: I heard that because the insurance industry was hit so hard by 9-11, Katrina, and then the financial crisis, they are attempting to recoup that money in arenas that are guaranteed profit centers (including medical malpractice insurance, and health insurance). What if we decide to disconnect health insurance from other insurance to ensure that one doesn't affect the other in this manner?

There was NO hype with the swine flu. With any potential epidemic, it is very wise to be on the safe side. Any administration would have done the same thing. Markey and Waxman have been working on this legislation for years. If you don't believe in global warming, support it because we won't ever again have to illegally invade a country, we won't have to have illegal detentions or torture anyone! No, CO2 is not a pollutant, but it does cause the earth to be in a green house afftect. That is proven and is fact. If you look at this thing on a real simplistic level, you have to admit that if we are putting tons and tons of anything in to the atmosphere, it will cause changes. It is real simple to me.

Heres the big question here. She says if you like the plan given to you by you're employer you can keep it. But if healthcare is free and public, why would your employer even keep your healthcare plan in the first place? So in the end you can't' keep what's given to you by your employer

As far as I know the public plan is not free.. you will still have a premium. It will just be more affordable than the insurance that is currently available. If your insurance company wants to compete they will have to lower their premiums over time as well.. which means you will also have cheaper insurance even if you don't switch plans.

I agree with what you've said. I just worry congress will simply pass the buck like they always do. I'm not against people getting insured.. and I truly believe Insurance companies screw people constantly.. their afterall a for profit org. so would only make sense to screw people like walmart, oil, and any other for profit companies do.. good points, I'll await more information.. I just worry about higher taxes.. I cant "pay" much more of this lol. or take =P

I'm not willing to put aside money that I'll never bennifit from.. Social Security atleast isn't declared dead yet, Medicare either.. atleast I'll have some use later in life for such programs. I wont with a public plan so why again would I pay into it?.. If I felt like donating my money I would (Which I have many times with Prostate Cancer research). Let me spend my money where I best feel it should be spent and dont Tell me what I need to do! I'm giving enough for what little money I make now.

Lets say this plan cost around $1,000,000,000,000 (as estimates are known to be more like 1.5T) thats still a $2,500 cost if averaged out to every American. Now are you going to tell me that 47 Million Americans are going to split the bill? I doubt it.. so who's going to front the money if its 100% paid for.. thats why Congress cant settle on a cost. Obama's promised not to tax those of us who make 250K and less per year. Thats where my question sits, Who's paying for it? And so far unanswered.

As far as I know the money will come from a variety of sources.. just cutting down on the fraud in health care as it stands will save a great deal of money. Obama has said that he will not do anything that is going to take money out of the pockets of the working man.. and I don't think he will. I personally do not have all the answers.. Next time there is a health care forum you should participate and ask your question. They touch on cost a bit in this one, Wed I think there will be another.
