I always loooooved this song so much!!! It's a shame it was just stuck on the B side of Cherish. It could have been another hit single. I also used to sing this song back to DC's photo. Cause heaven only knows I would have loved to touch him and feel him touchin' me. ;)

That is so True!!!!!! I found a new NEVER played copy and it sounded like a Bad needle had dug out a new Groove ...I was very dissappointed, you have a good copy!!!! That explains then why so many sounded so bad.. Is there any way perhaps you could send an MP3 copy??? I tried to download it from YouTube but it wouldn't work. I do have it in my favorites though, thank you very much!!!! It is a great tune!!!!
@LCRV1 There were FIVE pressing plants in the US at the time of Bell Records. Over TEN, if you count the record clubs back then. Many of my friends insisted that their 45s of the PF, or albums, were super fine with no distortion. Perhaps from ONE pressing plant; but mine sounded like sandpaper, and had to return three, count 'em -- three Bell singles as they would not play. Love This song, but to the others I have spoken with who think there were no problems at all - BULL
Wow...great Tune....it should have been a Hit!!!! But is it on any of his Albums??? I have the Cherrish CD, and it is not on it...thanks for Posting this!!! What a singer!!!
@LCRV1 No they never put this on an album yet, it's just the B side of the original Cherish 45 rpm, it could have been a hit, very pop sounding, almost like early Beatles!
At first I didn't like this, and I still feel its too much of a departure from the rest of Cherish. It probably wouldve gone better on Rock Me Baby, though it's got alot of classic Wes Farrell influence in it, and I dont hear so much of that on Rock Me Baby. I think it has a upbeat Christmas time vibe to it. Thanks for letting me hear this, I just found an old vinyl print still sealed from an Amazon dealer. Sweet!
Extraordinario.
Thanks again for posting....I keep coming back and listening to this song!!! There are some great vids with pics of DC out there, but your posting of a simple 45 record just further proves how timeless, talented, and wonderful David Cassidy truely is!!! (i meant that remark about simple as a compliment!!!) If you have any more please post!!! ~Peace
Echoing everyone else's comments: the sound is incredible. What a great track. His voice is quite fine here. Never would have heard it if not for your video so thank you very much for uploading it.
Do you have Frozen Noses, by chance? That's another one I've never heard. I think Cassidy322 would like to hear it as well :)
From the DC Downunder Fansite's discography, it seems to have been the B side of the "If I didn't care" UK single. I don't think it was ever released in the States and it's not on any album from what I've found. I can't even find the lyrics online but the title intrigues me no end!
David, I was just watching many Partridge Family videos, and I saw that title "Frozen Noses" on their song "Rainmaker".... I DON'T think it was a song, but that title "Frozen Noses" is a poem in their video/song "Rainmaker."
Thanks for the reply, msss22. Actually, "Frozen Noses" IS a song. It was written by David Cassidy and appeared on his solo release of "If I Didn't Care". CherishDavid posted it not too long ago if you're interested in hearing it. Just do a search for "Frozen Noses" with Cassidy and it should turn up. The poem you saw on the "Rainmaker" video might have been a portion of the lyrics - someone did a screen saver of them with a picture of David skiing. Blue background if memory serves.
@cassidy322 Thanks. Yeah, I heard "Frozen Noses" when it was posted by CherishDavid a few months ago. I might have sent you a message via YT to let you know it had been posted - you brought it up first here several months ago. Interesting track, isn't it?
@EtoilepourDavid Thanks.....................I am a fan of Led Zep,Beatles,Stones, Genesis, Queen, Feeling, Duran, Motown, Jackson, Glam Rock, Abba ...classical too...Mozart is amazing etc very eclectic. I like early Cassidy for the good melodies, innocent lyrics, and the clarity of vocals....the songs have a feel that is hard to put into words........a backdrop to my teenage years ....walking Jane my first girlfriend home on balmy summer nights when we were 14...she introduced me to Cassidy.
holy cow!!! i havent heard this song in eons!!! my best friend got this 45 for her b-day we listened to it all day!!.....he will always be one of the coolest guys ever!! thanks for posting this!!! =)
'Lecagr' is absolutely right! "All I Wanna ..." is far better than "Cherish". But, I've always wondered if the original studio master recording of it was in stereo, even though the 45 was in mono. But, what a wonderful and delightful song. I've always loved it. It's my favorite solo Cassidy track. I hope it gets a CD release, and soon!
Sometimes the "B" side of a single is better than the "A" side, as such is the case here. This is a nice song to play on a warm, breezy summer day. Written by Irwin Levine & L. Russell Brown who were songwriters for Bell Records. They wrote a number of songs for Tony Orlando & Dawn, the most famous one being Tie A Yellow Ribbon Round The Ole Oak Tree.
You're welcome, thanks for posting this good song so others can hear it also. It should have been included on the Cherish LP, but for unknown reason it is not on the album. Although from 1971, this song has a bit of 1965/66 sound and feel to it. Interesting track from David Cassidy, very enjoyable indeed.
I love this song from 1971, I was in second grade and played this song till the grooves were white on my close n' play phonograph...My dad had to buy me another one copy...which he kept in the family stereo after he committed the song to reel to reel and a cassette tape for me...I still have the 45 now...thanks to my Dad buying me another copy and rescuing it from my close n' play!!!
Good song, I had it in my collection in 1971, Bell Records. The song is a Tony Orlando & Dawn formula: "Candida", "Knock Three Times", "I Play and Sing", "What Are You Doing Sunday", "Carmen" etc; or Mike Kennedy's "Look in My Eyes Pretty Woman"; or Bobby Goldsboro's "Marlena", etc, etc.
I'm a hugh fan of David Cassidy. I bought the Cherish album back in the 70's. This track is not on the album so of course I've never heard this song before. So thanks a bunch. Now, I want my own copy. I love any new songs like this one. What a pleasure!!
When I was a kid and a Partridge fan, a friend brought this record to school, and played it on the school phonograph. I remember not liking "Cherish"..too slow. But I LOVED the b-side and went and bought a copy of it that week.
Great sound! Have been looking for this song for many years electronically! You've got quite a clean disc there; the sound quality makes it through the conversion well! Wish there were MP3s of this tune floating around. Oh, well...
I have seen a lot on you tube and this sure is different but nice. At least people still have and use their turntables. I still have mine and all my 45's and LP's. I have been asked to sell them many times. I am so glad I kept them.
How wonderful to hear his song again after so many years. I played it to death when I was a teenager and still have the record but it is scratched. Thankyou so much for posting. I agree nothing beats the sound of a record.
I had the record AND this B side recording. Wonder where that thing is now! I loved David Cassidy!
