MPs have overwhelmingly rejected a Tory MP's bid to pave the way for a referendum on the UK's EU membership....the amendment was rejected by 295 votes to 26 (1st January 2011)

Ireland's 2nd Lisbon Treaty Referendum is likely to be held on either 25th September or 2nd October '09. Before voting. Please research and learn about what your voting for. Keep in mind. For those that remember the "Nice Treaty". We voted "NO" first time, the 2nd time was a "Fixed Yes" vote. Don't let this happen again. I'm Irish, not European. I plan on keeping it that way.
If you don't understand the Lisbon Treaty, Stay home and don't vote. Let the rest of us send Europe a message. Vote NO
i cant believe that europe wants ti just forget about your vote and push us to the side we voted a very clear NO and now they want another vote? what happned to democracy? why isnt our vote good enough?...because its not what "THEY" want.
1. Criticising the EU or it's institutions is illegal (European Court of Justice ruling, case 274/99).
2.Rioting and civil ' upheaval ´ during time of war is punishable by death (amendment to the European Charter,article2,passage2c : google Prof.Schachtschneider).
3.Under the Lisbon Treaty/constitution any state not willing to `continually upgrade it's military´will also face punishment.
@Caty25cat We did vote no, I voted no a second time and the thing that a lot of people don't seem to realise is that we would have had to vote a third time if it did not go their way.
The EU is a joke its not a democracy and neither I'm sad to say is The Republic of Ireland.
we joined europe in 1973 and we got structural funds. emigration and stagnation and low self esteem (post colonial) kept us down til 1988 and 1990. both big football occasions. then we got our first woman president. corporate tax rates went down. education was paramount to growth. from this well of self discovery cam the now dead celtic cub. we voted no and our tumble started. fuck them anyway and vote no again when they demand. they can stop the cash but they can't stop us growing vegetables!!!
It is no longer a secret that the EU intends to introduce a Europe-wide death penalty in times of `war or civil upheaval ´as soon as the infamous Lisbon Treaty has been ratified.
Please watch the following law Professor explain on youtube :
Schachtschneider #10 with english subtitles
Under the planned new ` EU corpus juris ´law system, inprisonment without trial and extradition without evidence also raise fears for those of us who respect the rule of law but don't want a police state.
thank you very much Ireland, i would gladly wash the feet of any Irishman who voted NO because you Irish saved democracy and saved the world, thank you so much!
Fuehrersesel you say that you like the Irish some of the time well I like Germans none of the time, just why exactly should we or anyone else give up our soveriegnty just so you sausage guzzling beer swilling murdering Hun bastards can take over through the back door.
You fucking Germans are evolutionary mistakes, and in no way is the world a better place with you in it. Go fuck yourselves Feurersesel & Lesleyma and go find yourselves some Russian soldiers to fuck your mothers & grandmothers!
Go fuck yourselves Feurersesel & Lesleyma, just take a look at how many people there are thanking us, everyone is delighted we voted no, their arguments carry no weight coz what those two pricks haven't cosidered is that if prosperity (not that we had much prosperity under british rule, but we were even poorer initially when we separated) were more important to the Irish than self detemination we would have remained part of the UK. Better to be poor & free than a wealthy slave!!
the lisbon treaty is a freemason treaty to enslave all the people of europe i am irish and say no to the eu unlike other countries we the irish people had a vote we have rejected this godless treaty but our traitors our leaders have gone against the wishes of our people and once again we are be forced to vote fianna fail are guilty of treason
PETER SUTHERLAND, the Irish chairman of energy giant BP, the worlds fourth-largest company, says that Irelands economy has remained afloat solely because of the countrys membership of the euro.
Speaking to The Irish Times at the Davos economic forum in Switzerland, Mr Sutherland said that if Ireland was not in the single European currency, the Irish economy would be in a state of destruction.
The UK will be one of the main victims of this crisis because they are not in the EURO Zone!!
are you serious, greece, spain portugal and ireland are probably the ones who will sink the euro. it would have been better for greece to be economically independant, as they can't control their interest rates
Peter Sutherland, who has been at Bilderberg the last 2 meetings according to their lists. I dont give a !"&$ what he thinks, I'm voting NO again and I will vote NO a third time if I have to.
And one other thing - have you Patriotic dummies ever heard of the Irish VRT Tax? An obscure Car tax which makes every new car about 40% more expensive then in the rest of Europe.....Bruxelles has to supersede Banana Republic Legislation.
Now let me get back on track - Fianna Fail is the Irish Problem not the Solution. Ireland may well go the Icelandic way...and the Icelanders are ready to introduce the EURO...
The Irish Elites have been corrupt and incapable for decades to run the country...but to teach them a Lesson and to cripple Europe are two different topics..
Sort out Ireland first! But with this sorting out I am pessimistic ...
Even though I do not agree with the Lisbon Treaty, I think we we will have to vote yes in the next vote coz we now need as much help as possible from The EU to help us get through the recession.
Convention for Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms ( Treaty of Rome ).
Article 15. Derogation ( i.e. EXCEPTION ) in time of emergency.
Paragraph 2. No derogation from Article 2 ( Right to life ) EXCEPT in respect of deaths resulting from lawful acts of war, or from Articles 3 ( Torture ),4 (Slavery and Forced Labour) and 7 ( No Punishment Without Law ), shall be made under this provision.
Article 33,paragraph 6 of the Lisbon Treaty allows the 25 members of the EU executive the RIGHT (with only two exceptions) to CHANGE or declare NULL & VOID ALL rules/regulations/laws present in existing treaties relating to the ECONOMY ;TAX ;CIVIL SOCIETY ;environment etc.
« Sorry,this is a dictatorial constitution » (Prof. Schachttschneider, University of Erlangen-Nürnberg).
Only the much-bullied Irish people can stop this for all of us in Europe !
I SUGGEST: since there is clearly no political party of repute, advocating or campaigning for withdrawal of these United Kingdoms from the EU and restoration of our independent sovereign, democracy, with Justice & the right to self determination in a free country - The EU is an evil concept bereft of democracy, funding, supporting & aiding politicians NOT people.
Write Upon Your Ballot Paper:
LEAVE THE EU

the fact that the Irish voted NO to the Lisbon Treaty doesn't mean that they're against the EU or the euro. They, like the majority of EU citizens want a different EU, one that is closer to the people of Europe and not a centralized regime run by bankers and bureaucrats.
You're the real ANTI-EUROPEAN here, one that thinks that the EU should work on "favours" and where you can "buy consensus", one who intimidates smaller european countries instead of showing friendship and solidarity. The EU should be something that symbolizes the friendship between european nations and common respect of european democratic values. Unfortunately, a person like you will never understand this.
One that sees the EU as another US-like superpower whose only desire is having more and more power instead of creating a model of democracy and tolerance that can inspirate the other countries of the world.
I personally admire the Irish. If you knew them, you would know that they're the best teacher of FREEDOM you can find. They know what is like to be subdued by external forces who try to impose their will on you. They've always been fighting this and they will keep on doing that, and they have all my support! If my country had just 10% of the love for Freedom they have, it wouldn't be run by a bunch of mafia guys.
British Nationalists are the new friends of the Irish. They support Irish EU scepticism Lol. And there is of course Irish Millionaire Mr. Ganley who helped the No vote with printing posters. LOL
Ireland could get pretty isolated in Europe, in the face of a world recession this could proof a biteen depressing for eire.
I like Ireland (at least sometimes) but politically (look at your Banana Republic)
you are Loosers - so please do not interfere with the bigger picture.
why are people giving a minus to people who say thnaks to ireland, you fucking idiots! do you realise how brave the irish were to actually stand up to their own branwashing government?!!! They're saving your souls, and i'm speaking as an irish in france who had my vote taken away, one day you'll be ashamed of yourselves!! go ireland!!! sinne fianna fail!
Shoot, I'm speaking as an American: GO IRELAND. I wish my peers here in the Etats-Unis had the testicular fortitude you have to stand in firm opposition to fascist legislation. Instead, most of my peers tell me I'm an idiot for not voting for Obama, simply because they are brainwashed into thinking that socializing healthcare, banking, and anything else you care to name amounts to freedom and prosperity. So this Christmas, please buy America a history lesson, would you please?
The EU has ORDERED the Irish government to have another referendum (as many as necessary, until there is a 'YES'). Cowen (like most European politicians) thinks his primary loyalty lies with Brussels and is now studying ways to get the Irish to accept another referendum. This is how the antidemocratic EU always works.
The Tory Party are going to win the next Election in Britain. They have PROMISED to allow a vote on the EU...All the Polls show Britain wll vote a massive "NO"
Cant wait, vote Tory and VOTE NO to this bloody European Union
The well-educated and affluent, especially those who could answer general knowledge questions about the EU (how many countries are in it, whether Switzerland is a member, that sort of thing) were much more likely to vote yes
yeah there is nothing to be happy about now plus watch irish news you will see that more than half oof hte irish people didnt even know what was LISBON ABOUT :DDDDD CHECK OUT THE VIDEOS FOR YOUR SELF
"Thank you, Ireland!" from Vienna, Austria. We, I and many of my friends were so happy about the irish vote, that we walk directly to the nearest irish pub in the city of vienna, to celebrate this vote with irish beer, Kilkenny´s for a happy moment.
Thank you, Ireland!!! We will never forget your help, never!
Thank you Ireland - you are the greatest peiople on Earth - we are so proud that you voted no!
EU is Hitler!! Pleese help - No world domination!! i am a 17 y old adolescence donkey and i relly like utube. I like politics too but I hate EU and all Moslems. Again Ireland is a great country where people are clever and free thinkers! Ireland is green and people are good - I know because I have relations in Ballybumfuck and they ALL voted NO!!!
Well funny looking at some of the better comments here, what would Ireland be without of the EU money pumped into it today?? Most 20 year old 'Fuck EU ' commentators would not be able to be the 'Boy Racers' of Nowadays - Instead they had to help their fathers on the Farms minding the donkeys - please do think about this u Loud Irish Big Mouths!
Let the Irish decide!! - But give them the right questions so that all of these opportunists can make up their minds: SHOULD EIRE LEAVE THE EU? Should IRISH PEOPLE TO RETAIN THEIR NATIONAL SOVEREGNITY CUT MORE TURF? SHOULD PRIST-HOOD BE MADE COMPULSORY FOR ALL ELDEST BOYS OF A FAMILY? SHOULD MARRIAGES BETWEEN COUSINS BE ALLOWED TO RETAIN PURE IRISH BLOOD? SHOULD EIRE REMOVE EU LAWS AND GO BACK TO BREHON LAW? SHOULD DONKEYS BE PUT UNDER SPECIAL PROTECTION?
If all the Roads which were aided by EU money suddenly disappeared - It could only go back to the means of transportation which the IRIH had before they joint the EU and that was the DONKEY & CART.
And if the Euromasters had been honest about why we were being BRIBED like that, I hope we'd have told you all to fukk off, keep your money, and we'll keep our roads the way they are.
Our people fought for centuries for FREEDOM from outside interference - the Euro-Empire is no better than the one before it. Just as corrupt actually.
Now, you go and think about that - as well as the potential money value of the fishing rights we surrendered around OUR coast.
moron. If we regained control of our fishing waters it'd be worth more than any EU subsidy. By the way the EU doesn't have money of its own, it steals it from Britain, Sweden, Germany and Netherlands first.
Would that be the 110 kms of motorway that we now have which the EU paid approx 20% towards Lesley? The EU have paid less than 100m towards Irish roads (the rest has been funded by PPP and the taxpayer)
So your argument is that if Ireland lost 22km of roads we would be forced to use donkeys?
Nice logic Lesley!
With a fine Scottish name like Lesley u are obviously an Ulster Prod and living in that Bankrupt British supported fiefdom you would obviously know a lot about sponging off your neighbours
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@Lesleyma - You bankrupt orange prod twat. What's it like to be hated by everybody in the whole of the British isles? what's it like to know that the only way your stolen little enclave in the six counties can survive is from handouts from the UK? What's it like believing in a protestant bible that was written and collated by catholics? What's it like knowing that every little prejudice that makes up your worthless life is based on staggeringly stupid misinterpretations of history?
The EU has ORDERED the Irish government to have another referendum (as many as necessary, until there is a 'YES'). Cowen (like most European politicians) thinks his primary loyalty lies with Brussels and is now studying ways to get the Irish to accept another referendum. This is how the antidemocratic EU always works.
The powers that be, the Illuminati, the international bankers, and whoever else holds the world's powers, want ALL of us ot be under ONE gov't., ONE law, that fits no one but special interests. It'll be a disaster. This was predicted countless times. We must always speak up against it. Bush was a traitor, he made a "treaty" between US, Mex and Canada that is 100% illegal and I was formerly a staunch conservative (no Obama is NO better, really.) Good for Ireland....
I love your mixing of Aimee Allen's Ron Paul Revolution theme with the Irish No victory over the despotic Lisbon Treaty.
They say the people do not understand. But it is they who do not understand that the people only want the single market and the 4 freedoms and NOT their supranational EU government to plan our lives.
Iam glad to have irish blood in my viens..FIGHT!FIGHT!FIGHT!

Just say no (like the French,Dutch & Irish).
Don't VOTE in June's EU elections.

we joined europe in 1973 and we got structural funds. emigration and stagnation and low self esteem (post colonial) kept us down til 1988 and 1990. both big football occasions. then we got our first woman president. corporate tax rates went down. education was paramount to growth. from this well of self discovery cam the now dead celtic cub. we voted no and our tumble started. fuck them anyway and vote no again when they demand. they can stop the cash but they can't stop us growing vegetables!!!

It is no longer a secret that the EU intends to introduce a Europe-wide death penalty in times of `war or civil upheaval ´as soon as the infamous Lisbon Treaty has been ratified.
Please watch the following law Professor explain on youtube :

Under the planned new ` EU corpus juris ´law system, inprisonment without trial and extradition without evidence also raise fears for those of us who respect the rule of law but don't want a police state.

At what cost to Ireland ?
IF the Lisbon Treaty is ratified :
1.ALL legislation will come from the un-elected Council in Brussels.
2.They can lawfully change anything in previous Treaties ( Article 48 ).
3.The Executive retains the RIGHT to dissolve national parliaments anytime it wishes.
4.The Lisbon Treaty ( Art.1.2:1-6 )abolishes the Nation State & replaces it with the EU Nation.
5.The European Charter re-introduces the death penalty.
Is it worth it ?

I SUGGEST: since there is clearly no political party of repute, advocating or campaigning for withdrawal of these United Kingdoms from the EU and restoration of our independent sovereign, democracy, with Justice & the right to self determination in a free country - The EU is an evil concept bereft of democracy, funding, supporting & aiding politicians NOT people.

the fact that the Irish voted NO to the Lisbon Treaty doesn't mean that they're against the EU or the euro. They, like the majority of EU citizens want a different EU, one that is closer to the people of Europe and not a centralized regime run by bankers and bureaucrats.
CaesarAugustus1987 3 years ago
You're the real ANTI-EUROPEAN here, one that thinks that the EU should work on "favours" and where you can "buy consensus", one who intimidates smaller european countries instead of showing friendship and solidarity. The EU should be something that symbolizes the friendship between european nations and common respect of european democratic values. Unfortunately, a person like you will never understand this.
CaesarAugustus1987 3 years ago
One that sees the EU as another US-like superpower whose only desire is having more and more power instead of creating a model of democracy and tolerance that can inspirate the other countries of the world.
CaesarAugustus1987 3 years ago
I personally admire the Irish. If you knew them, you would know that they're the best teacher of FREEDOM you can find. They know what is like to be subdued by external forces who try to impose their will on you. They've always been fighting this and they will keep on doing that, and they have all my support! If my country had just 10% of the love for Freedom they have, it wouldn't be run by a bunch of mafia guys.

Would that be the 110 kms of motorway that we now have which the EU paid approx 20% towards Lesley? The EU have paid less than 100m towards Irish roads (the rest has been funded by PPP and the taxpayer)
