ok yeah, these girls are just a little too sexy with their shoulders. Girls wouldn't have danced with this much sass in those days unless they didn't want a nice boy. There was actually some reverence for being a nice girl, you didn't want to be considered a slut. Just watch clips from the 1950s, it was real cool movement, not too eager. Everything is about overcompensating today and showing off. Hollywood movies are successful because they speak the language of those watching only.

The CLASSIC, and ORIGINAL HAIRSPRAY!! I love this one! The 2007 version is a watered down version of this one, with REALITY-BASED events from the 60's. Ricki Lake is the original Tracy Turnblad, Micheal St. Gerard is the original Link Larkin. The original HairSpray will last forever!!

On the other hand the musical was aimed at a younger audience, and its a musical! so its a Sorta musicalized - dnt no if thts a word, version of the time. and the music is fuller in the musical, and dancing is faster sets are biger. If you knew anything at all you would know that the original film by John Waters as with a lot of his output is all based on his experiences in Baltimore around the late 50s early 60s. This film is a cartoon snapshot of that time and the 2007 version is a heap of shit in comparison. Now get back to your homework and leave the grown ups alone.
