From where I'm looking, looks like Core i5-750 is $195, Core i5-760 is $209, Core i7-860 is $270, and Core i7-870 is $280.

That's what Newegg and Amazon have for price.

Barely any games will have a noticeable difference between a Core i5-760 and Core i7-870 probably though. A few do recommend Core i7 though and there's something about saying "I HAVE A CORE i7!" That is awesome.

Looks like Sandy Bridge will all be LGA 1155 though.

@worldbmx It's great if you are going to do overclocking, some people have gotten this to 4.4 ghz. If you are running at stock just get a i5 750 or i7 800 series, they are all lga 1156.

@robortalien ive tested assassins greed 1 + 2 on it some setting on highest ,some settings as vertical sync switched off since i didnt needed it. ,dirt 2 on highest settings ,GTA 4 highest settings

thats all i tested on my friends pc after we build it .

all on a overclocked i3 530

like i said before it auto overclocked to 3.520

i gues it all depends on the grafics card you put in.

well yeah a i5 is in two versions quad core and dual core version with hypertreading

so a real i5 quad core would be a better processor.

but still for the latest games as assassins greed 2 or dirt 2 or whatever game you need a i3 core will do the job.

you better check your money and decide what to buy.

a i3 530 gets a score of 7 in windows 7 64 bit .

7.9 is the highest availeble

better spend your money on a grafics card

and buy fast ddr3 mems with low latency

@96Source The 555BE is not near better than this. While the 555BE has 2 cores and 2 threads, the i3 has 2 cores and 4 threads. It is also 32nm and can easily OC to 4.2GHz, while to get any AMD CPU's to a 25% OC you need ridiculous cooling. AMD is fine for budget builders but it generally Intel wins performance easily.

@LazyMax05 yes. the only difference between them is that the 540 is 133mhz faster and has a barely higher multiplier for overclockers (i think its 14.5 and the 530 is 12). the i3 530 overclocks very well though and the 133mhz is negligible. so the 530 is great!
