  • hey final cut king i have final cut express and it doesnt have the color corrector how can i make this effect without it??

  • damn the girl is so hot

  • You can do this in Final Cut Express but it's kinda different. you have to layer clips to get the effect. basically you use the color corrector on the bottom clip, bring the saturation to zero so it's black and white. then on the clip above, use chromakey to select what color you want to remain. it's not as good as this video but it works.

  • Greetings King. Nice one. I think I will use it soon. Thanks and 1love.

  • one question:

  • Hey FinalCutKing, I like your posts. Just working with some soccer videos and I was wondering if you know how to highlight a person or circle a person in a game?. So I could pick out a certain individual.

  • @woperkic I have a tutorial called "Using Vector Shape" and you can highlight someone using that effect.

  • incredible, just too easy, ima try this out!

  • this is great. you are a big help!

  • How do you do this in Final Cut Express 4 ?

  • Nice tutorial guy. Thanks!

  • very clear, very cool, very everything. I had figured this out by myself before, but it's nice to see that this is the actual way to go with this effect! I love your vids, I know I'm probably the 100000th person to say this, but it's well deserved. :)

  • This is awesome.... I've seen a few vids on this and most are showing how to do it by layering the video.... this is WAY easier and quicker!! You ARE the KING !!!!

    Cheers :)

  • Saved to FAV

  • thanks! so, is this the same as "color spash"? i see people like jennxpenn and others that have videos that everything is b&w, except their tshirt for example that is purple.

  • isn' that the pleasantville effect

  • Thanks! This was really fun to play around with! I actually uploaded it to my channel if you wanna see what I made. It's just 1 picture though. It took like 3 minutes for it to render though :/ It's FCP 5 that's why. No Apple Pro Res 422. :(

  • That is really cool. Thank you so much for sharing!!!

  • I don't have Final Cut but I feel like watching these vids will help me anyway

  • I'd like to see a video on tracking in Motion. For instance, doing a blur over a face in final cut, you have to keyframe everything and in a long clip, it takes forever. I hear you can do it in Motion but I rarely use Motion so I don't know the process for tracking a face. AVID has tracking built in which makes things like that simple. When I work on FCP, I'd like an easier way to do it.

  • like it, as always. Image tracking. or Motion!

  • like it, as always. Image tracking. or Motion!

  • Didn't he do that effect already but called it the 300 effect or something?

  • No sorry the pleasantville effect.

  • Cool tutorial!

  • I have seen many times with wedding videos that they keep the flowers in colour and everything else is black and white. But they also have the flowers in different colours. How do you do that?

  • Please do motion tutorials!!!!!!!

  • nice dude

so is that also work with the moving image or video clip

or just work on the still image?

  • @alberthui312 Final Cut is for video... go figure

  • @alberthui312 it works with video. I just used a photo for the example.
