O.J. was NOT sentenced here for what happened in this case. He was sentenced for the murders of Ron & Nicole. There is no way he should have been sentenced to (at least) nine years for going to a hotel room to retrieve property which he had solid reasoning to believe was his.

He could of accepted a plea deal and received less time.

O.J. was NOT sentenced here for what happened in this case. He was sentenced for the murders of Ron & Nicole. There is no way he should have been sentenced to (at least) nine years for going to a hotel room to retrieve property which he had solid reasoning to believe was his.

You're leaving out the part of the force that was used holding people against their will at gun point. That in itself is a serious crime. By the way, the property which was initially his that he was retrieving was property he was hiding away to avoid the judgement against him in the civil trial. Legally it wasn't his property. He could of accepted a plea deal and received less time.

@shnayo I am not saying what he did was right, I am saying that I believe that the bulk of his sentence was because of the 1994 double-murder which he probably committed. In other words, had this been Simpson's first crime, it's safe to say the jail sentence would have been significantly shorter.....maybe 3-7 years, instead of 15.

A double murderer doesn't deserve a fair trial in my book, but technically he did commit kidnapping with a deadly weapon, which warrants a stiff sentence no matter who you are or what state you preside in. It's trial not trail. It's "those verdicts" not "that verdicts". The trial was as fair as you can get it. There was taped audio evidence of them carrying out the crime in the godamn room. He will have the possibility for parole in 20 years. So let me get this right here, a man who murders his pregnant wife, we're willing to let him go in 20, but someone who committed armed robbery to get back their stolen property, and took no lives should get life. @PriestChristopher I'm not familar with that case so I cannot really comment on it. It is completely irrelevant anyway. What we are talking about is OJ Simpson's case. He committed Armed Robbery, took hostages. He will be up for parole after 9 years. The Maximum he will serve is 33 but it's unlikely he will serve that. If he is well behaved he will probally serve 15-20. It's not the judges fault that he is the age he is. Moral of the story is "don't commit armed robbery and take hostages".
