This summer, I watched the ENTIRE series. Tonight, I just finished watching I want to believe. I liked it a lot. Very creepy, and disturbing at points (but, that's what I like about X Files.) It was awesome to see Mulder and Scully one last time...
Hello, I'm a massive X Files fan, and whilst I enjoyed the movie, it was nothing special and I agree that the first film was much better.
But can someone help me out here please? There are supposed to me 'nuggets' for the fans right?? Well I must've missed those, what were they supposed to be? Mulder's pencils stuck to the ceiling at the beginning of the film?!!
The supernatural and alien stuff were tossed out in favor of the relationship between Scully and Mulder. Their relationship story needed to be wrapped up and I thought this movie did that nicely. The point was that they'd never be able to "solve" all the mysteries out there but all they needed they had in each other.
Maybe they could have had a better background plot then the frankenstein bit but I still thought the movie was a success on a character level.

I really hate it when Hollywood makes a movie, especailly a movie from a tv show, for the "masses" and not just for the fans. Why? Because they have to water everything down for the people that weren't there from the begining. I'm a fan from the pilot and this movie was very disapopinting! I wanted it to get better but it never did. Skeptic Scully and Mulder believing to the Nth degree. Borring! This was just an average episode that DOESN'T have leggs. Save your money everyone.
first movie was way better. they should have done something more supernatural (meaning more "x-files"!) than just a psychic....and he might have been a fake anyway!

I guess it just depends on what kind of X-Files fan you are: I'm sure the shippers out there enjoyed this movie. I, for one, am a sucker for the mythology, and that's why it disappointed me.
was it really that horrible or you just didn't get the point of the movie...was it too complex for you to understand...since you say you are a major fan of the series...I wonder how you understood the series...
I was having doubts about this movie. Good to see its good. Is there some sort of revelation in this movie that'll get me thinking/talking after viewing it? And how much on an X-files fan do you have to be to be able to appreciate the 2 main characters?
Since the film is a stand-alone movie, you don't have to be an x-files fan to appreciate it, or Mulder and Scully...but there are some nuggets thrown in there for the true believers...the main revelation, the main plot twist...that's the one I'm having problem with, that's why I can't fully give the film the highest rating...but spooks, scares? You'll get it :) Manny
