  • I wish they'd stop making new Superman movies. The 1978 original will never be topped.

  • he is superman

  • nobody can replace chris

  • christopher reeve, lives forever in my heart as the true man of steel....wonderful memories..great film and tune

  • Who disliked this video? Honestly. I'm going to have to summon Superman, Batman, and Spiderman to seal your doom forever. Be warned.

  • @milolover151515 Obviously it was Lex Luthor who disliked this video. He's a total prick.

  • When I get to the other side I'm gonna ask Jesus if for just one day if I can fly like superman, no wings, to jet pack, no parachoot just me and the sky:)

  • Came here because i needed a pick me up after being pissed off over Obama signing the NDAA... thanks Superman :)

  • 1 Dislike?!?!?!?!? How?!?!?! What's wrong with you! Should be all likes!!! This bit of music is Amazing!

  • Christopher Reeve IS the Man of Steel.

  • @2349DF Yes he is. One of the greatest tributes was an editorial cartoon when he died of Chris in full Superman suit flying through the gates of heaven.

  • Have you notice the majority of movies that has to do with end of the world, such as The Fifth Element, deep impact, 2012, and much more always have a black president. Now we have a Black President = Obama. The end of the world might happen verysoon!!

    Obama is the antichrist!

When our Lord JESUSCHRIST returns, He (the antichrist/obama) will say that is an ALIEN INVASION

Repent and accept JESUSCHRIST as your Saviour and Lord , the WRATH OF GOD upon this stupid world is very near!!

    seemyvids

  • @IhaveHopeinGod loooooooooooool God canot feel wrath because HE IS AL LOVE!!!

  • @IhaveHopeinGod what kind of drug do you take?...it seems very strong...

  • This is how you immortalize a hero and bring back memories!

  • With this theme John Williams get the heart of millions of persons in the world. long life to a genius.

  • after listening to this majestic piece of art, you wonder if John Williams is the real Superman...

  • indeed there is only one superman in real life and in fantasy and is chritofer reeve may

  • I can't imagine the new superman movie without this theme, THIS IS SUPERMAN!!! the best superhero in the world!!!!

  • @CamusDesings

Yes, the Superman theme is one of those that have become so iconic, it becomes impossible to imagine a new movie without it. Elfman's 1989 Batman theme was good, but not truly iconic. The Bond theme is iconic. The Indiana Jones theme is iconic. And so is this. Singer was right to reuse it in Superman Returns.

  • There is only one Superman -his name is Christopher Reeve.

  • Excellent! Thumbs Up!!!

  • This is the most perfect hero theme out there. Danny Elfman's theme for Batman (1989) is a close second for me, though.

  • @CattleStunner While this is a good theme, Batman is far superior in all possible ways. But that's just my opinion..

  • Further evidence of John Williams' genius. Where would directors like Spielberg & Lucas be without him?

  • This is Superman the best super hero theme composition of all time.

  • I recently went to Paris and couldn't stop talking about how Superman saved them from the bomb on the Eiffel tower when I was there. I also had a superman costume underneath my gear in case anything kicked off ;)

  • Where is that picture from? The cd? I want it

  • Supertheme for the birth of the superhero movies.

  • FTS im getting superman underwear, shirt, and cape and running around my neighborhood singing this.

  • @bud467 u mean humming...

  • From the classic to the present, the intro of the movie along with the theme, always inspires me!!

  • And they did use it , not fully but it is there in the last minutes of smallville

  • This makes me want to cry because it reminds me of what happened to Mr. Reeve. I hope that they will use this at the end of Smallville tonight, as a tribute to superman but maybe even more as a tribute to Christopher Reeve because no one can ever be a better superman than him.

  • I actually think this is better than “Star Wars”.

  • I get goose bumps everytime I hear this...

  • 25 people know Chris Reeves still kicks ass even in death! WE MISS YOU CHRIS!

  • @ultimatemegadeath

Yeah... he didn't deserve to have his accident... When I see him in the movies, then compare him to his crippled state I can't help but feel sorry.

  • For Superman to be 6'4" is Super, excellent casting. Miss you Christopher Reeve, see you in heaven soon, if i ever make it there in this fucking world i live in lol.

  • Lex Luthor to Otis - "Do you know why the number 200 is so vitally descriptive to both you and me? It's your weight and my IQ"

LMAO Classic Gene Hackman wit :)

  • @RedPortiaOne

I couldn't have said it better myself!!!!

  • too bad Erich Kunzel didnt do Supes II and III instead of Thorne

  • this is the unforgettable awesomely brilliant masterpiece

thank you Richard Donner and John Williams to make us believe that a man can fly

  • @Unbreakable0024 Don't forget Alexander Salkind. He had a hand in that too.

  • Never seen that artwork before...where did it come from?

  • Live Long And Prosper The Work Of Christopher Reeve :)

  • beastination (love that poster)

  • Probably the best performance of this piece I ever heard. So powerful it brings tears to my eyes.

Thanks a million for uploading this!

  • @DrMorbid This should be listed as one of a bald man's greatest achievement. John William's certainly has honoured the bald community.

  • @Freedomcostmoney Director Richard Donner originally slated Jerry Goldsmith to be the composer for the Superman films. Imagine the scenario if Goldsmith did it instead of Williams, would we be praising how this was the greatest achievement of a grey haired pony tail man honoring grey haired pony tailed dudes everywhere?

  • @Perceptionista Bald legends: Larry David, Gene Hackman, Sean Connery, Jesse Ventura, Ben Kingsley, John Williams etc etc etc

  • @Freedomcostmoney Telly Savalas

  • @grindorblackout1986 Aha yes of course, but I never saw any of Telly Savalas movies, but I guess if you say so then he is!

  • @Freedomcostmoney There are some good ones. I`d recommend them

  • Comment removed

  • @Perceptionista Absolutely! But I listened the common one's that just spring to my mind.

  • @Freedomcostmoney Sorry for the double post there. But yeah I agree with all those guys being legends in themselves with as little follicles as possible. My OP was just saying how it would have been a different turn of events if a different composer, Goldsmith had been hired for the Superman film. It doesn't remove Williams from being a bald legend though!

  • @Perceptionista The bald man is usually picked on favorably by the follically blessed individual and pushed around like a cheap whore. A bald man's argument can be that if John William didn't compose classics such as Superman then the movie saga itself wouldn't have become such a huge franchise and popular hit worldwide.

John William's gave the Superman movie an additive of eccentric swashbuckling of dynamic proportions.

    Bless his heart.

  • @Freedomcostmoney Fully agree there. His leitmotif is one of the best in movie history and his entire score is actually my personal favorite above SW, IJ, ET, HP etc. His contribution of swashbuckling neo-Korngold music elevated the Supes movie to the status of an unprecedented cultural icon like never before. It goes to show how one old bald man can exude such marvellous, (blessed as you say) talent which changed forever the mediums of comic book, movie scores, and film making.

  • @Perceptionista On the topic of baldness, Reeve suffered from Alopecia Areata and had to have steroid injections every 3 months while shooting Superman. Bet you didn't know about that movie trivia?!

  • @Freedomcostmoney thanks, that's intriguing about Reeve. The more you know. :) He always had the impression that he had full of hair which probably contributed to him constantly being billed as a leading man. Just goes to show how wonderful Reeve was to have worked to overcome all these difficulties to get to where he was.

  • @DrMorbid From 2:39 to 2:55 I become nostalgic and reflect on my life as a youth and as a grown man. The sequence hits me very hard and makes me very sentimental.

  • @DrMorbid its good but don t be a dork

  • look ma no wires!!

  • BEST!!! LONG LIVE: REEVE - ROUTH!!!
