When I get to the other side I'm gonna ask Jesus if for just one day if I can fly like superman, no wings, to jet pack, no parachoot just me and the sky:)
@2349DF Yes he is. One of the greatest tributes was an editorial cartoon when he died of Chris in full Superman suit flying through the gates of heaven.
Have you notice the majority of movies that has to do with end of the world, such as The Fifth Element, deep impact, 2012, and much more always have a black president. Now we have a Black President = Obama. The end of the world might happen verysoon!!
Obama is the antichrist!
When our Lord JESUSCHRIST returns, He (the antichrist/obama) will say that is an ALIEN INVASION
Repent and accept JESUSCHRIST as your Saviour and Lord , the WRATH OF GOD upon this stupid world is very near!!
Yes, the Superman theme is one of those that have become so iconic, it becomes impossible to imagine a new movie without it. Elfman's 1989 Batman theme was good, but not truly iconic. The Bond theme is iconic. The Indiana Jones theme is iconic. And so is this. Singer was right to reuse it in Superman Returns.
I recently went to Paris and couldn't stop talking about how Superman saved them from the bomb on the Eiffel tower when I was there. I also had a superman costume underneath my gear in case anything kicked off ;)
This makes me want to cry because it reminds me of what happened to Mr. Reeve. I hope that they will use this at the end of Smallville tonight, as a tribute to superman but maybe even more as a tribute to Christopher Reeve because no one can ever be a better superman than him.
For Superman to be 6'4" is Super, excellent casting. Miss you Christopher Reeve, see you in heaven soon, if i ever make it there in this fucking world i live in lol.
@Freedomcostmoney Director Richard Donner originally slated Jerry Goldsmith to be the composer for the Superman films. Imagine the scenario if Goldsmith did it instead of Williams, would we be praising how this was the greatest achievement of a grey haired pony tail man honoring grey haired pony tailed dudes everywhere?
@Freedomcostmoney Sorry for the double post there. But yeah I agree with all those guys being legends in themselves with as little follicles as possible. My OP was just saying how it would have been a different turn of events if a different composer, Goldsmith had been hired for the Superman film. It doesn't remove Williams from being a bald legend though!
@Perceptionista The bald man is usually picked on favorably by the follically blessed individual and pushed around like a cheap whore. A bald man's argument can be that if John William didn't compose classics such as Superman then the movie saga itself wouldn't have become such a huge franchise and popular hit worldwide.
John William's gave the Superman movie an additive of eccentric swashbuckling of dynamic proportions.
@Freedomcostmoney Fully agree there. His leitmotif is one of the best in movie history and his entire score is actually my personal favorite above SW, IJ, ET, HP etc. His contribution of swashbuckling neo-Korngold music elevated the Supes movie to the status of an unprecedented cultural icon like never before. It goes to show how one old bald man can exude such marvellous, (blessed as you say) talent which changed forever the mediums of comic book, movie scores, and film making.
@Perceptionista On the topic of baldness, Reeve suffered from Alopecia Areata and had to have steroid injections every 3 months while shooting Superman. Bet you didn't know about that movie trivia?!
@Freedomcostmoney thanks, that's intriguing about Reeve. The more you know. :) He always had the impression that he had full of hair which probably contributed to him constantly being billed as a leading man. Just goes to show how wonderful Reeve was to have worked to overcome all these difficulties to get to where he was.
@Freedomcostmoney Don't forget Ving Rhames, Avery Brooks, Delroy Lindo, Samuel L Jackson, Louis Gossett Jr. Djimon Hounsou Damon Wayans Taye Diggs for black dudes. I guess Dan Castelleneta and Armin Shimerman would factor in too. Of course the one who started it all Yul Brynner.
@DrMorbid From 2:39 to 2:55 I become nostalgic and reflect on my life as a youth and as a grown man. The sequence hits me very hard and makes me very sentimental.

This is the most perfect hero theme out there. Danny Elfman's theme for Batman (1989) is a close second for me, though.
CattleStunner 6 months ago
@CattleStunner While this is a good theme, Batman is far superior in all possible ways. But that's just my opinion..
