I'm having this 4-H dance thingy and I wanted to learn Thriller (not the whole song cuz they only let you have SO much time as usual, I think 3 min tops) but there was a major problem: I lived almost in the middle of nowhere, and there wasn't a SINGLE dance studio that could teach me the choreography withing AT LEAST 70 miles. I suppose in every learn to dance thriller video, the person instructing always does things differently than the music video. However, this one is the most off that I've seen yet.

The first thing I picked out when you started to do the complete dance, you don't really have any snap. If you watch Jackson, he's JERKING his freaking head to his shoulder. Thats probably why his nose fell off so many times. You're just kind of bringing your head to your shoulder too casually.

This is why people instructing don't look good and don't understand why. You're doing thriller. That should be bad ass. I don't think you can half ass any MJ dance. Jackson has to many sharp and quick moves. The best way to learn thriller is probably to look at the music video over and over... probably what I'm going to do. Its the most accurate way as far as I can tell.

She did skip a few steps but really... if you're going to attempt to do this dance at a wedding or something, chances are you are going to try to teach everyone in like 15 minutes... there isn't any way ppl are going to learn a complicated dance in just a few minutes. If ppl are wanting to learn it step by step either watch MJ himself or watch a video on exactly how to do it because there ARE videos out there. I think this one was absolutely wonderful!
