memento actually made me dislike cinema after that ... and i just came up from inception , its good but nothing like memento

Yes, I know. I'm not an idiot, I've seen the movie. What I'm saying is that, why does he have tattoos that say "John G. raped and killed my wife"?

maybe teddy's menipulating lenny's memory by telling him his wife wasn't murdered. this way lenny's brain tries to remember this but has his present body in place since it didn't actually happen.

It gives his life meaning, it gives him something to aim for. He tatooed it as a perminant reminder of his never ending goal. also helps serve the purpose of not having him remember in anyway that he killed his wife, and that John or James G(a typical name which could be almost anybody) killed her...Conditioning. also you can see the "I've done it" tattoo which makes you wonder how many people he's killed to give his life meaning.

I'm thinking that might be a fantasy of his actually. An impossible goal that gives meaning to his life perhaps?

It was a representation of that moment he lives for, albeit briefly. That fleeting feeling of success for avenging his wife. His only meaning now.

What will really blow your mind, at :34 he has a tattoo that says "I've Done It"...while lying down with his wife...whom supposedly he killed or was killed by John G.. And the tat wasn't there throughout the entire movie.

He is just day dreaming: it indicates that he forgot everything Lenny had previously told him, and still believes the 2nd attacker is out there. So its basically suggesting in that scene Lenny believes he is getting closer to fulfilling his quest of hunting down the 2nd attacker (through Teddy's # plate which he is getting tattooed on him)
