Wow and thats how we used to colonize Mars back in the day. Thankfully we come a long ways since then.... oh wait.... we are yet to colonize Mars. Doh!
Let me guess; the "Flying Saucer" that flies off into the stellar void is named The Jupiter 7!---Then CBS picked up this story where this Disney film left off---
I remember seeing this Film at my primary school back in the 1960s. This was the "world of tomorrow". I grew up in exciting times and dreamed of exploring Mars.
netsight,.....not really gas guzzling in that the atomic electric 'umbrella" ship would be more efficient than any manned spcecraft yet flown...you young guys should never underestimate some of the old guys...we knew what was up!
Like I said, thanks for uploading the entire video of this.
This has to be one of my favorite Disney classics, all because of the imagination put into this and probabilities of the future of extraterrestrial research and space travel.
@spacepatrolman Paul Frees. His voice was everywhere! Besides doing a ton of Disney characters, film narration, Rocky and Bullwinkle, and the voice of Poppin' Fresh, the Pillbury Doughboy (!), he did voices anytime the film studios had problems with dialog that needed to be dubbed. Gigi, Spartacus, The List of Adrian Messenger - the man was everywhere. And yes, he's the voice who triggers the famous "I am Spartacus!" scene.
@spacepatrolman Nope. Frees made sure he got paid good money, got credit, and he encouraged - practically demanded - that other voice-only performers do the same. The Wikipedia page on him shows he really WAS everywhere. People grew up on his voice - and still do - without knowing it. Fred Foy: the "Return with us now to those thrilling days of yesteryear" guy? Zowie! Pardo's no slouch, either.
@TheStockwell pardo told me the story that he started as an usher in a movie theater then studied acting in college then did news reels radio then tv but for some reason i thought he went direct from radio to tv in new york at nbc but according to an interview in here with him he had to got to rhose island to do tv then work his way back to new york
@spacepatrolman He's worked his way back West! He officially retired in 2004 and moved to Arizona. Tucson, I think. But NBC won't let go of him! He records the introductions for Suaturday Night Live . . . in Arizona.
@spacepatrolman Complicated arrangement: originally, the plan was for him to record the SNL intros in Arizona. That was in 2006. Then, NBC decided Pardo HAD to record in New York and footed the bill to fly him in. In 2010, Pardo appears to've made a definite decision to stay in Arizona and record from there. Hoo boy! I'm sure Wikipedia is chockfull of info on whatever the deal is THIS week. Cheers and have a great weekend!
@TheStockwell This is some kind of remote recording on the internet from arizona like an arrainment from jail to the court room live shows have a dress rehersal in the evening before
this sucks!!!!

Six ships to Mars? It looks like an invasion fleet! If Martians exist, they'd be preparing a defence against the bug-eyed Invaders from Earth!!!
