I've never seen this commercial and didn't know it existed. Rafael Palmeiro IS my all-time favorite player.
Conspiracy theorists the world over should be salivating over his story. He never in his whole career looked like a juicer. Congress investigated him for perjury and couldn't find anybody he'd ever played with except Jose Canseco who thought he'd used steroids. He passed a lie detector test when asked if he knowingly took PEDs.
He made the rest of baseball (and their evading-the-question, waffling, trifling ways) look bad with his straight up denial. Then he became the fall guy for baseball, the guy who 'proved' that baseball was finally 'getting serious' about the steroid problem. Despite the fact that everyone "knows" he did it and despite the fact that many people are calling for him to just confess so that people can forgive him, he still sticks to a story that never sounded plausible to most people.
Because who INJECTS B-12? But when he brought up the 'vial of B-12' he'd gotten from Tejada, Congress requisitioned 2 vials of it from Tejada, who actually had vials of it---and used steroids and lied to Congress. Raffy had hours of time in the clubhouse to doctor his May 4 test if he knew that he'd used steroids due to the way tests were administered that year. He tested negative not 3 weeks later (May 23). I believe he's one of the few innocents.
How can people hate on Palmeiro? He passed a lie detector test about he never knowingly took performance enhancing drugs. Don't get me wrong, I don't like cheaters in the game of baseball but Palmeiro has my respect because he told the truth in my opinion.
@nest790 Did you see this year's results? He needs about 7 times as many votes to get in.
Even though I believe he should be in the Hall, it doesn't mean he'll be there. Baseball is the one sport of the big 3 in America in which the public really punishes you for PED (or suspected PED) usage. Funny thing about it is that there are already people in the Hall who used PEDs---guys from as long ago as Pud Galvin---and players from the 60s and 70s who claim that there was widespread use even then.
@bass1bone FOR-REAL!? SO RAFFY SHOULD DEFINITELY BE IN! MAN THAT'S NOT FAIR. STEROIDS BACK IN THE DAY WERE CALLED GREENIES (OR SOMETHIN' LIKE THAT) PETER GAMMONDS EVEN SAID PLAYERS USED TO TAKE GREENIES BACK IN THE DAYS.
I knew palmiero did steroids, but I didn't know he did Coke too!!!!

The material for conspiracy theory is there.
