  • Wow beautiful hydraulics and a bumper! I have never seen a lift in the UK with a bumper in real life! It's one of my biggest challenges :)

  • and the point of this video is....??

  • schindler QKS9 doors

  • this elevator is not from 2002 but from the 1960s 1970s

  • that is a platt-schindler elevator

  • On The Ground Floor The Doors Open 3 Seconds Earlier And Dosent Level

  • They were doing service on it last week and they probably fixed it. Otherwise it would be the same as it was lol.

  • A Bit Like Stannah lol :)

  • @LaptopMad777 that are LEVELING

  • @mas90009 I KNOW!!

  • @LaptopMad777 Sorry for the caps lock :P

  • @mas90009 ok

  • @LaptopMad777 You have also nice videos :P

  • @mas90009 Thanks!

  • @LaptopMad777 Likes Whistler Tea Rooms

  • fast doors!

  • Out of interest, if a hospital lift is for "theatre use only" is it bigger than other lifts might be and can it be programmed to bypass certain floors(I'm sure I read this somewhere)?

  • well, mabey but since this is only a two floored building they use 1 lift as a counterweight to the other going up or down. I think.

  • if its hydraulic there is no counterweight

  • That's confusing how the hospital has hydraulic lifts and they each go the opposite way, they should use traction and use each cab as a counterweight lol

  • that wont work because when someone is loading on one elevator and the other one is being used. this wont work

  • It would if it was a two story building, Ground and floor 1. If someone wants to go down on floor 1, they get the lift that is going down and when the lift is going up they get the lift on the otherside on Ground floor.

  • it wount work because if they are both being used at the same time then one would be ready to go while the other one would still be getting loaded and it would waste time.

  • is it a hydraulic elevator?

  • Yes, quite fast. Also, if you listen while it goes up you can hear the hydraulcis like the evans elevators.

  • Looks like a Schindler from the early 80s. Schindler's European/Asian elevators look so different from their North American counterparts; probably because they never used to be in the US before buying Westinghouse out.

  • Yeah, it's an old one but it sure is in good condition and fast.

  • I just noticed, was there no floor indicator inside?

  • You wouldn't need one, its only got 2 floors.

  • nice lift

  • it is an old one but not that old old mabey they brought old peices of ebay and stuck it on the elevator

  • What i know that in 2002, ALL Lifts had to conform to the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) making all lift buttons to be low for wheelchair users, and have braille or large raised lettering. This Lift doesn't have any of these, making it older than 2002( in fact, it was put in before 1995!)

  • oh so your saying this was installed in 1995? I think so to but you see those enginerers at the 1st floor with the drill, well I asked them wether the knew when the elevators were installed and they said 2002 but mabey the meant the service elevators because they were around when I was 5

  • The Buttons make it even Older

  • i agree

  • They can't do that, schindler would have to use new pieces to conform with the DDA

  • well I guess it was brought from what ever company but slappped the schindler logo on it

  • Haha funny guy. From what I can tell all the buttons, door sills, door bumpers are all consistent with 80s schindler elevators (and early 90s_)

  • well, thanks for replying so soon :), I agree, it uses old 90s/80s uttons and door bmpers. The doors are very fast as well andthere normally fast in early 90s/80s since the motors only carried the doors well as now days the elevator hast to carry sencors and heavy metal safety doors and just slower lol.

  • No problem - I miss living in Asia with the European spec lifts; North American elevators are REALLY boring. almost all hydraulic around here.

Schindler's doors from that period are all really fast - they slowed them down with newer doors though, partly due to safety, and partly because they realized the door bearings would start to rattle really bad in only a few years time.

Have you seen the latest Schindler technology? v=T73E1GV3Lys (not mine)

Notice the new style infra-red door bumpers.

  • Why are our elevators boring? :(

  • Don't know. All elevatros to me no matter where they are are very good to me lol.

  • the lift looks old

  • Yeah like from the 1950s!

  • i'm sure that i saw the schindler logo

  • This is a SCHINDLER

  • Is it, oh, well I didnt have enough time to look at the manufacture and I asked a guy what elevator that is but he oviously thought i meant the silver ones for service

    But thanks for the comment

  • And an old One at that

  • Are you sure that lift is only 6 years old? I think it's 36 years old.

  • You really thinks it's that old lol well no it was installed 2002 but I know it looks dreadfull for it's age

  • Are you addicted to lifts?

  • I guess so lol, But yeah Elevators are indeed nice and interesting and yea i know it is a wierd thing to like but the thing i like about elevators it the way that your on 1 floor then the next just like magic ay but yeah thanks for commenting

  • thyssenkrupp hydralic elevators arent to good because they usualy break down but the tractions are pretty good

  • Yeah I found that out to because they dont work well and percides they should be traction if patients need them

  • very true

  • Init lol

  • but don't worry ive got the comments in my messages so i can still read the last ones

  • Sorry for the comments, one of my brothers friends deleted them when i went out to my friends and i forgot to log out
