Amazing! It REALLY bothers me how much attention Carrie Underwood gets. Bo had way better pitch than her during the competition and carrie always seemed way too tense. A lot of people don't even know who he is which is ridiculous.
@guitarGUNFIGHTxxx The song was on their album that was released in 1973 yes, but it wasn't released as a single, therefore didn't get any radio play until 1975. I believe that's what they based it off of. But you are partially correct about the year. :)
@lillucy120 i honestly dont know, i dont watch these shows untiul someone sends me a link when something interesting happens on them (like judas priest as guests, which i just recently got sent). i have no problem with bo choosing this song. i think he did an amazing job, and that more of the contestants on the show should pick music like this

@Bostonsx93179 Think about how long the solo is. It would be retarded. It's a singing contest. They don't have the time to waste on the fuckin 5 minute solo. lol
@saulhudson420 well yeah duh lol thats the point im getting at. they just went to some alternate repetitive notes that really didnt fit in lol. like they could have had a couple of runs within there.

i do agree that the winner can be just as good a singer as the runner up, but i usually just like the runner up more. i think it just comes down to the fact that people tend to vote for the type of music they like, not the actual voice, and the type of music i like usually differs from a lot of peoples.
@TheWillLockwood no doubt, yea i thought bo was amazing but that was just one of the few years the winner was actually the best.....like when taylor won......daughtry should have won easily, the year fantasia won i thought latoya should've won.....
@lillucy120 It's also about Payola. The reason that Taylor Hicks isn't considered "successful" (which is bullshit, because he IS) is because of Simon Cowell. uh. i didn't watch american idol during season 4 i guess . . . not much into TV , more into music . Rock music that is , and how come Bo didn't win again? They need to have a Rock American Idol Season . Only Rock Stars !
This is a sacred song indeed. No one has ever recorded a decent cover of this song. It's one of the few songs that no one can cover. You can try, but don't bet on it.
Everyone Knows Free Bird! It's A classic! Haha there been so many people who butched it though. He's rocking it! Check out jason michael carrol doin it. That's funny stuff
Obviously, you aren't from any southern state in the US. Pretty much EVERYONE knows Freebird. As a band, if you don't know this song, you'll get run out of the bars.
it's not good music?! have you ever heard the original song, better yet, have you ever heard the original song played live? look it up and then tell something.
I have a wide range of tastes. AC/DC Avenged Sevenfold Blink 182 Black Sabbath Disturbed Eminem Linkin Park Metallica Paramore Queen Taylor Swift Even a Miley song or two thrown in
Bo is right everyone DOES know this song which is precisely why he shouldnt attempt it.I have no doubts that he has a talent of sorts but not for this particular number. He didnt get raw enough and the strutting WELL pathetic I have played and sung this song for years but I would not consider myself proficient enough vocally to even put it on here let alone perform for millions on TV. A better choice of song and I am sure Bo will go far and I wish him well
Amazing! It REALLY bothers me how much attention Carrie Underwood gets. Bo had way better pitch than her during the competition and carrie always seemed way too tense. A lot of people don't even know who he is which is ridiculous.

This is a sacred song indeed. No one has ever recorded a decent cover of this song. It's one of the few songs that no one can cover. You can try, but don't bet on it.
ARVNpistola313 2 years ago 4
I think the cover that Molly Hatchet and Charlie Daniels did is awesome... it's here in youtube...

Obviously, you aren't from any southern state in the US. Pretty much EVERYONE knows Freebird. As a band, if you don't know this song, you'll get run out of the bars.
BoudicaMara 2 years ago
Listen to any rocks classics station in any city and you'll hear it 20-30 times a day! It's very well known. A classic.
Moor4u 2 years ago
Everyone knows this song. You're asking the wrong people. Ask adults and guitarists.

BWHAHAHAHAH are you joking? you say mate, so maybe it's a country by country thing, but i don't know ANYONE in America who doesn't know this song lol

Trying to sound and act like Ronnie (and Johnny) Van Zant and he was horrible ... but wow -- he looks like a young Gary Rossington.

Sounds a lot like like the original. Great performance
casper1918 2 years ago 5
Bo is right everyone DOES know this song which is precisely why he shouldnt attempt it.I have no doubts that he has a talent of sorts but not for this particular number. He didnt get raw enough and the strutting WELL pathetic I have played and sung this song for years but I would not consider myself proficient enough vocally to even put it on here let alone perform for millions on TV. A better choice of song and I am sure Bo will go far and I wish him well
