  • Such a beautiful video, deceptively simple. It really brought back memories of fishing off the pali on Maui. I'm glad that there are still moi and ahole thriving out there.

  • wow nicee size too ahh? :)

  • Mahalo for your kind and supportive comment Hawaiian 137.

My father inlaw is into conservation and from the video you could see him throwing back small ones and when he got what the family could eat he stopped fishing.

He is a retired conservation officer with the DLNR and these footages I am shooting will be apart of a movie I am making of him.

Thank you once again and much Aloha!

    Hawaiiangamefish!

  • good to see someone keepin our ways alive, i bet that old man had that spot for years

  • Thanks for the nice comment Kauaiboy!

My father in law has been fishing that very spot for many decades.

It provided many fish for the family and friends.

My spot is the next lava finger over and it is more of an open ocean spot with ulua and papio. When the weather gets better here in Hilo I will film my spot next and some ulua and omilu action.

  • eh u know wat?

THAT WOULD BE SO SIKK IF U COULD GET SOME NICE FOOTAGE OF U BRINGING IN SOME OMILUS AND PAPIOS...OR MAYBE EVEN ULUAS?

  • Kauaiboy

That spot has lots of fish but also very dangerous. My father inlaw was thrown 25 foot off of that lava finger by a phantom wave 10 years ago.

He was bruised and battered and hang up for about three weeks.

  • its expected though, when i go fish i expect the worst so im prepared for it in a way as much as i can

thats the balance of that spot u guys got there, so beautiful and so much fish, yet dangerous and will take u as soon as u take from it

u know what they call that...FISHING

  • Mountain Opae that are still alive.

  • Big Island of Hawaii Hakalau on the hamakua coast. Mahalo for the positive comment!

  • What u use for bait???

  • Mean!...what island is this?
