You're right. I haven't lived in L.A. and I truly am thankful for that! To be honest, it ( like any other city ) is worth visiting the "touristy spots" and then getting the hell out of there!

There aren't any actual big cities (besides Portland, which is more like a big town), the people there are weird, and you can get lost in wilderness if you take a wrong turn off the highway. Screw Oregon, I'm a California native living in Washington state, and I would much rather live in those two states instead of hoe-dung Oregon. A bunch of hick-trailertrash-hippies be livin' all up in there! Seattle and L.A. ROCK!!
You haven't been to more than a couple of states then have you? Obviously not.
I wouldn't call 2.6 million people "a big town". It is almost the size of Seattle, FYI. Odd you say both Seattle and L.A. when my father was up here ( from L.A. ), he said the two cities are similar ( except the weather, crime and traffic ).
What the hell you talking about getting lost? you can't with any state that has large forested areas ( hint, hint like WA! ) and I wouldn't be talking about "weird" people
Sometimes, cities like Hong Kong have hard time getting a nice picture and full-detail. LA is a great size, along with Houston, Seattle, San Francisco, etc.
LA have many angles. Either large, medium, or dense. If you look at Downtown LA with Century City in the foreground at night, I believe that is the best angle to look at LA's skyline.
I've been to my hometown HK, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Imma go Taipei. I been to SanFran and always hometown Vegas!
One day, if you go to LA, make sure you drive to Santa Monica Freeway from Downtown to the Beach.
Along there, you see DTLA's skyline, from extreme wide, medium, to extreme dense. Passing DTLA, you're surprised the skyline doesn't end. It's Mid WIlshire. It spreads to Century City, which will be visible. But to the west of Century City is Wilshire BLVD. It supports CC's skyline to Santa Monica. Photographers are impossible to prove LA's skyline is long because of the mountains. Which SUCKS!
In "Collateral," when Tom Cruise asked Jamie Foxx if he liked L.A., all Foxx could say is, "It's my home." Objectively speaking, L.A. has its shortcomings, but this is my home. As long as I am here, my love for this city is unconditional! And this video is a beautiful evocation of the beauty, surrealism, and romance of L.A., my home bittersweet home.
If you don't really know the geography of Los Angeles, then I can tell you-
Los Angeles have about two rivers, lakes, ponds, islands, with Vincent Thomas Bridge connected, beaches, mountains, hills, and steep hills like San Francisco.
The City of LA is one of the most taken-pictures in the world, with different angles. I like LA skyline because the skyline is small, medium, and wide.
LA is unique too. It have the techno beauty. Highways. Amazingly, LA have bout 30 skylines=most in America.
I was born and raised in this city and I hate all L.A. bashers you can't get past the crime and ghetto parts of it. Endless gems are waiting to be found in this city...and no other city in the world can you sample something from so many cultures.
Nonetheless, comparing San Francisco or NYC to LA is like comparing Jessica Alba to Paris Hilton. All fucked up, social and intellectual decay, and all media.
Greater LA is named because many people say that some citys are in LA but they arnt actually. Example: The Beach. The beach is called to be that it is LA. Im guessing its Long Beach. Most cities taht couldnt see Downtown is the ones tahts not in LA. But LA is like a mountain range. Some part of LA couldnt see LA DOwntown.
Greater L.A. has a population of about 13 million people. That's funny to think that a single city can have a population bigger than an entire country.
Wow... Umm, I'm sure xNaorix knew what I meant when I said "Greater" L.A. Most people use the population of the entire metropolitan area when talking about a specific city. For example, London itself has a population of 7 million people, but the greater London area has about 12 million, and that's the official number. Quit being such an ignorant asshole and dissing on americans when I didn't even do shit to you!
yeah, but that population figure extends out to San Bernardino / Riverside area ( about 45-50 miles east ), and when you get down to it, it is more like 9-10 million, which yes, is more populated that some small countries.
Now double that figure, and you have the population of Mexico City metro area, in a much more confined area.
Yeah, ok, Mexico City is HUGE, but it's got NOTHING on L.A.!! The City of Angels is the entertainment capital of the world! They've got EVERYTHING there.
Las Vegas is the "entertainment capital of the world". L.A. has some nice things, but even NY has more to see and do than L.A. does!

LA has a wider skyline than most of the cities.
It spreads wide for 16 miles towards Santa Monica beach. Everything is based on Wilshire Boulevard. 80% of the buildings are in Wilshire Boulevard.
Guys, stop saying LA has a small skyline. Cause it doesn't.
Yes, DTLA is small. But Wilshire Boulevard is our skyline.
For LA, its spreading out and up.
LA is spreading. One day its gonna become the biggest city in the world BY SIZE god damn fuckers!

Los Angeles is one of the largest skyline in the world if you combine all of the skylines into one.
If you include all LA and the counties into one?
OH MY!
The world's largest skyline!
Luckypet4747 3 years ago
no =P
Antennne 3 years ago
Note: LA have the most skylines in the USA.
Example: If you combine Dallas, Houston, and Austin skyline, you will get a very large skyline.
LA have about 30 skylines. 10 major ones.
Search it up!
But then I said LA County, which I meant Greater LA Area.
Combine all the Greater LA Area and you can imagine how much Los Angeles really is.
I made this thing up cause I know a lot about California cities.
Note: LA City and Orange county together about 50-60 skylines.
Luckypet4747 3 years ago
No, not at all. Have you been to many Asian cities? In fact, most major European cities have a bigger skyline than LA.

I live down in the South Bay area of L.A. and I can see the downtown L.A. skyline from Dominguez Hills/Carson on Wilmington&Victoria or Central&Victoria. I can see it really good, like super clear, HD type shit. And thats like15-17 miles south of downtown.
And what is up with everyone reppin and going hord for their city/town/state?
Its bizarre.

Needs some music. I'd suggest some of the cues by Vangelis for the movie Blade Runner.
