I feel like there are other cross-segments within marketing channels that may be related to what you're promoting. In other words, if I sell website services then the audiences I'm trying to reach probably have an interest in "how to build a website". There are many ways to identify valuable traffic channels, my favorite tool is Google Analytics!
I'm using a what I call my 3 prong attack.1 I make a blog and get It the way I like It.2 I make video to promote blog and talked about It In my video some.3 I promote the video and blog everywhere I go.And still no sells.sg
I've just been accepted by AdSense, it's a bit like fight club, you do not talk about fight club etc. I've hjad this account 5 years and have enjoyed using mycreativity to make a splash. If I could only get earnings for the thousands of views that took place before today - the launch of my own adsense..hmm, I'm sure theres an argument somewhere..

I have a forum and website and i have 0 traffic. I really like your videos because its very helpful! But the only problem is, that i don't understand on how i can get traffic, i mean i can't start building my traffic because totally i don't know how build traffic. i agree things have changed now im gonna be honest if u want to build traffic then use online free press releases because those bring good traffic. also want to learn more about traffic then go here at blackhatteam (dot) com its a cool website.
Times do change and google just proved that when they changed the way they rank websites.Just Look at article submission sites most of the top places such as ezines ect ect lost more then half their visibility on search engines.
In my own opinion the best way to go was always email marketing and will always hold value to a marketer but I still check out tools,services and so on that offer traffic.Everything takes work and being up on the times will give you a advantage.
You mean if a person earns a place on search engines once, Then you get to eat the fruit for many years after that. The hard work is in getting backlinks, making content, applying seo. Once thats done ! then ur good to go. Right?

with all the talk about driving traffic to your site, where do you make the money? do you get money just from people clicking into the site? or by getting alot of people to go to the site, then buying somthing there, or clicking on another link from your site and getting money from that? i understand needing to drive traffic and get people to look at your site, but where does earning money from it happen?

I think what she is saying here is that the game has changed and every person finds what works for them so keep trying different stuff. There is no one answer for the question. Except time, she has had that page for nearly a decade. And no doubt she did a decades worth of work to get that traffic. You have to put in the work and it takes time.

This video causes a lot of frustration with people but the point was to emphasize that much of what I did to get where I am today, no longer works in the now (doorway pages, submission sites, etc). I do a little social media marketing today but most of my success is about maintaining the traffic that I've earned and I do very little promoting other than videos and writing content. I disagree with NathanLee. This vid was spot on point. Lisa clearly mentioned her traffic evolved by employing the tools and technology that were necessary to stay competitive as e-commerce itself evolved.
If anyone could create a guaranteed method or methods for attracting 20,000 vistors a day the system would implode. There are innumerable variables in acquiring traffic and many are intangibles. eCommerce is as much an art as a science and not everyone is up to the task.
You are on the money with this video. A lot of new internet marketers are looking for that holy grail and it doesn't exist. They think this stuff happens overnight. Age of your website is VERY important also. You've been around the block for a while. Build your traffic comprehensively(seo, articles, backlinks, bookmarking, videos, etc) and plus it takes time like you did. You are to be applauded!
This is good sensible advice: it takes time, you have to have good relevant content, and you have to stay up with the times: the world of the web changes quickly, and what worked five or six years ago may now be irrelevant. Finally, work hard! It's not as easy as all the hype says it is. Thanks for posting this.

@NathanLee0921 This is one of those vids I wished I could re-do. The point was not to discuss traffic tips but to explain that some of the strategies I used back in 2000 are no longer relevant because so many people ask me what I did. But what's the point of talking about classified ad sites when they don't work anymore. As far as today, all I use is Twitter, Facebook, YouTube. And I'm still riding all the free search engine traffic I earned years ago. So there was nothing new to discuss. :)

I hate it when a blogger say stuff like great contents is what get you the traffic. I cling because it makes sense, but it doesn't get you 25,000 visitors per day. Google's AdWords is also a good way to drive traffic to your site, provided you got some good keywords and some dough to invest. Nothing in life is easy. The best lesson I have ever learned in life is that it takes money to make money, and if you do your homework and put in the work, eventually you'll reach your goals. Lisa is so right. Nowadays, getting a website or blog ranked well in the search engines takes a minute--as in several months--if you know what you are doing and do it properly. Websites and blogs are for long-term income generation strategies, so it's not going to happen overnight.
There are also tons of ways to make legitimate, short-term, residual income. In this day and age, it really depends on what you are into and which route you want to take to make money online.

I do a little social media marketing today but most of my success is about maintaining the traffic that I've earned and I do very little promoting other than videos and writing content. I disagree with NathanLee. This vid was spot on point. Lisa clearly mentioned her traffic evolved by employing the tools and technology that were necessary to stay competitive as e-commerce itself evolved.
If anyone could create a guaranteed method or methods for attracting 20,000 vistors a day the system would implode. There are innumerable variables in acquiring traffic and many are intangibles. eCommerce is as much an art as a science and not everyone is up to the task.

You are on the money with this video. A lot of new internet marketers are looking for that holy grail and it doesn't exist. They think this stuff happens overnight. Age of your website is VERY important also. You've been around the block for a while. Build your traffic comprehensively(seo, articles, backlinks, bookmarking, videos, etc) and plus it takes time like you did. You are to be applauded!

This is good sensible advice: it takes time, you have to have good relevant content, and you have to stay up with the times: the world of the web changes quickly, and what worked five or six years ago may now be irrelevant. Finally, work hard! It's not as easy as all the hype says it is. Thanks for posting this.

No offense, but I think this video is off topic. You said you will discuss about your website's traffic, but all you did was talk about some history lessons. I like history.
You said in a video that all your website have about 20,000 visitors per day as of now. Can you create a video and explain more about how you accomplish this?
I already know that you get traffic from twitter, but that's not enough. And your website(s) rank high in search engine for competitive keywords, but what else?

@NathanLee0921 This is one of those vids I wished I could re-do. The point was not to discuss traffic tips but to explain that some of the strategies I used back in 2000 are no longer relevant because so many people ask me what I did. But what's the point of talking about classified ad sites when they don't work anymore. As far as today, all I use is Twitter, Facebook, YouTube. And I'm still riding all the free search engine traffic I earned years ago. So there was nothing new to discuss. :)

I hate it when a blogger say stuff like great contents is what get you the traffic. I cling because it makes sense, but it doesn't get you 25,000 visitors per day. Great content will keep interested readers coming back, but it doesn't allow new people to find you. Your info is clear of rubbish, unlike others.

Google's AdWords is also a good way to drive traffic to your site, provided you got some good keywords and some dough to invest. Nothing in life is easy. The best lesson I have ever learned in life is that it takes money to make money, and if you do your homework and put in the work, eventually you'll reach your goals. I have a friend who is beginning to promote his own piano compositions. He is marketing the ways that are not effective. I told him to get a blog to help promote his music as well as get onto forums. Is this good advice for him considering it is piano music?

Good video I totally agree. You start small and grow big. before google there was pagerank...but the name never worked. Then they came up with goole and that's history in it's self. you need a catchy name and something not long. She has some great point....

Hi Lisa. If anyone accuses you of holding back they obviously want it handing to them on a plate. You give so much quality info. You talk great and get your points across very well. Lisa is so right. Nowadays, getting a website or blog ranked well in the search engines takes a minute--as in several months--if you know what you are doing and do it properly. Websites and blogs are for long-term income generation strategies, so it's not going to happen overnight.
There are also tons of ways to make legitimate, short-term, residual income. In this day and age, it really depends on what you are into and which route you want to take to make money online.
