with 270hp and 295 pounds feet of torque you expect the GS 0-60 time to be at least 5.6-5.8 seconds what happened? Did GM tune the transmission for economy and forgot the performance big mistake, but the car looks cool, 38k is a hard sale.
to me for those of you that live in the UK. That car is the Vauxhall Insignia VXR but with the Buick sign on the front and on the boot. is doesn't look any different.
Wow, I can't believe everyone being closed minded and missing the point of this car. Go onto the reputable reviewers and see what this car is about. Better yet, go test drive one.
BTW- Your quoted MSRP price on the car was way off
@doriftomasta Unfortunately not. I am a Buck dealer and Buick felt the AWD Twin-Turbo V6 version available in Europe would be just to expensive for the US market. We can still hope though.
Buick being sport haha.. GM are you trying to get your sporty back well you failed. You had sporty cars back in the day but you can't even come close again you failed..
@soyntgo4it I have driven this car around the GM Proving grounds track in Detroit and I can assure this car is indeed sporty. It is not a WRX but it was never meant to be. Take a second to drive one yourself before you condemn it.
Look at the hood design, well it's got those edges that point down underneath, a classic GM product design, trust me it will be junk. This car can't be priced higher then a V6 Camry XLE. It needs a 8000 rebate and 2000 dealer cash to move. I have owned many GM cars and still do, the new products they have are made to look like the imports and have good looks but when push comes to shove you better of with an import name plate assembled in USA
@davewhodavedunn The car actually lists for $35,720.00. For that it includes a lot of luxury equipment and has fantastic quality throughout. It is not designed to be a cheap car or a sports car. It is a premium luxury sedan that is fun to drive. Drive one in person before ripping the car. You will be impressed.
Great reviews. They are getting better man. As for your comment that GM has come and changed the farthest in 5 years, that is ridiculous! They went from making the most unreliable cars to going under and using government money to making average looking average reliable cars. I still would never buy there cars. They are a scummy company and there cars are unreliable, depreciate horribly as well. Fuck Government motors. I cant believe ppl are buying them after the american government used there
My 50+ yr old aunt has this car. This car was made for this segment. Older females who want luxury and a little performance to make them feel special. Still too pricey. Great video as always!
Hmmm, I think the GS is a very nice sports sedan. I drove this car and I really liked the torque and the ride. The car is a little over priced but be honest you have to spend 28k+ for a loaded Focus.....really a Focus.....28k....lmao. There's a large market for this car (GS), it has a beautiful look in that metallic black. Take it out for a spin....I think you'll give it.....a very good rating, not a great one but very good.
How is everyone talking crap bout this guy review???? I mean I would think he knows what hes talking about and half the people that are wining aint even driven this car before but sure have alot to say...
I really want to like this car. (looks horribly bland in silver); however, 270 hp with front wheel drive....damn thats a lot. I have what I consider to be the edge of too much hp for front wheel drive (mk6 GTI).
39k is too much for a poor performing car with little to no luxury. Id go for something like an infiniti g37, bmw 328 or something in that category. Rwd cars that know how to successfully balance performance and luxury. Fwd luxury car, seriously?!
He is the only reviewer that hasn't liked the Regal GS. Why does this guy have a job? He acts like he his advertising other cars and then he slam this one. That sounds like a bias to me.
You are correct. He is biased towards the Audi A4. Watch his first fail review of the 2012 Regal GS. The GS has more hp/tq, will outbrake and outhandle the A4. Plus the GS interior is superior to the A4.
The reviewer obviously have little seat time in the GS. The HiPer struts virtually eliminate the torque steer. 3,000 rpm and he most likely had the car in 5th or 6th gear. If he had the car in a lower gear, the car definately responds well when you push the gas. He needs to get off the FWD kick. With the GS mode enabled and with the optional 20's with the Pirelli P zeros, you have a very capable vehicle. .90-.92 lateral g's from a front wheel drive vehicle.
Here in England we have the Vauxhall Insignia VXR with a 2.8T 320bhp, that model has a more reasonable amount of power for this size of the car, if your looking for performance similar to the 335i and S4. However even with the increased power it is still to heavy to keep up with the German rivals.
That's is the best looking Buick I've ever seen...hopefully they can pair that styling with a power train to do it justice. I give the reviewer credit for giving his honest opinion.
@brihamlin1 Look up Insignia VXR or Insignia OPC - this is the performance version of this car in European markets. It has a 2.8 litre turbo and 4WD. But I suppose GM knows its Buick market segment.
Is it just me, or do american car designers do not know how to make steering wheels?

Maybe if you put time into car/girl you can really get somethin......
Great informative review though, really pinpoints on subjects that are relevant to a sport trim vehicle
