Ok so the volume of the atmosphere is X . times 383 ppm CO2, We must unreversably FIX how much CO2 to lower the Atmospheric CO2 from 383 to ~200-300ppm?

How do we do this?

1 Make more OIL I don't mean mine it or refine it. I mean make oil. Subject plant and animal material to intense pressure and heat, however the making of the pressure and heat will produce more CO2 unless it is battery powered from solar wind or water.

3. FIx the CO2 as Calcium Carbonate or another form of carbonate. These are very unstable though.

The Fixing of the CO2 can be accomplished easily enough except for the oil part. Its the keeping it from re-releasing that is the trick.

Uh, no. Plants do just fine with substantially lower CO2 levels than we currently have. During the last glacial maximum the atmosphere had a pCO2 of 180 ppmv instead of 383 ppmv today. Plants were fine ;-)

Uh, no... The production and consumption of CO2 in the biosphere is well-balanced so that the fluxes have been approximately identical for a very, very long time (millions of years) keeping atmospheric CO2 within about 200 - 300 uatm over the last million years+. If we stop burning fossil fuels the level in the atmosphere will slowly drop back to a "normal" range.

Well, these are actually pretty easy calculations and readily available data. People release, on average, about 251 g C day^-1. Burning a gallow of gasoline (to go ~ 20 miles) releases about 2.85 kg C. Growing grass and trees and shrubs and things vary in their carbon consumption depending on what you grow, but in the US most of our ecosystems will be producing around 800 - 1200 g C m^-2 yr^-1, or 2.2 - 3.3 g C m^-2 day^-1.

The plants don't count because eventually they rot and return their carbon to the atmosphere. Only long-term sequestered carbon should count --- that which ends up in deep landfills, made into plastics, etc. Not fuels, food, burned, or composted, even composted in the soil.
