  • Ding Dong the Witch is Dead. Which Old witch ? the wicked witch is Dead (repeat)

  • this was a GOOD DAY!!!:)

  • Jerry Falwell was not only a racist, homophobic hatemonger, he was singlehandedly responsible for turning American politics into the polarizing state it is today. He turned the GOP from a big-tent party to a party of hate-filled reactionaries. Were it not for him a nut-job like Sarah Palin would never have ended up on the national ticket.

  • @TheStrong32 You represent all those who called for the death of Christ. You sound as though you don't like anyone calling your activities "sin", you want a sugar-coated impostor, an everything is OK type of leader. Jerry Falwell was none of the names you call him. Your words will be imprinted in God's memory, never to be forgotten by Him, unless you repent. Dr. Falwell loved the Lord and made no excuses. He followed the Lord Jesus Christ. Are you?????

  • who is jerry falwell?

  • @jakethesnakerobertz1 a nice roast for demons

  • right - he so supports Jerry Falwell Sr. that he single-handedly ousted the man that Jerry Falwell loved. SHAME ON YOU RON GODWIN.

  • Love him or hate him but...what the hell gives Liberty University the right to haul down the national flag of the United States of America to half staff on its own initiative? That isn't the privilege of ANY private person or organization. Falwell never even served.

Moreover..what is with all of this "Doctor Falwell" bullshit? The man never earned a degree in his life! In fact, his only "earned" diploma was from a then-unaccredited institution.

  • why is the American flag half staff??? That BASTARD was not a American hero, or a national Tragedy his death is a blessing, glad he is dead.. Anyway the president is the only one who can order national flags half staff correct ???

  • A giant has fallen... lol

  • @sakkamarra

    Thank God!

  • @sakkamarra But he may rise up again.

  • @sakkamarra even worse than before

  • Another asshole dies, yawn~~

I wonder if they make such a big deal from every starving child that dies in Africa or in the middle east or some rubbish 3rd world country that most people can't even pronounce.

  • I recently read both Hitchens and Dawkins, after they were made available to me at the local public library. Pray for me brothers, I find they both made a lot of sense. Pray for the Almighty to send me a sign so that I don't renounce my faith!

  • I pray you find the truth brother. That is the most important thing.

  • Jerry Falwell was rude, and a beast at times. He was not Catholic, which is a sin and he is going to be judged for that.

It is wrong to assume he was a good man, blaming people, who through no fault of their own were born in liberal environments, for the destruction of the towers. He claimed God loved and blessed this country, but to get his political views heard he said God judged this country. Sorry, i don't buy it.

  • Its a SIN to not be Catholic? What Bible are you reading?

GOD BLESS Dr. FALWELL and keep up the GREAT work Pastor Jonathan Falwell!

  • Amen. That was funny. But Amen.

  • I respectfully disagree...Dr. Falwell was a great, albeit vry conservative, Man of God who influenced many people to do many good things. Through his message of hope and peace through the gospel of Jesus Christ he helped to change many lives for the better...he was a very misunderstood man as well. But he, like the Apostle Paul, was "not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation to anyone who believes" (Romans 1:16) U R entitled to your own opinion, howevr

  • I am going to be studying to be a pastor with his online program, and I can only hope that my ministry will even be HALF as successful as he was

  • Anybody who dares to be different and stand up for the truth as they perceive will have people who dislike them...it was a comment meant for praise, jim, nothing more, and your comment was uncalled for. I pray that you find what you are looking for, my friend.

  • speak for yourself and take your own advice about the "head"

  • well apparently not seeing how you just replied to me...

  • I love how they assume that Falwell made it to heaven.

  • lol. i would say that most people in general assume they will get into heaven.

  • Dan Summers of Lynchburg, VA owns Quality Archery Design. I am a machine shop owner and tool maker. I built some prototype tooling for Dan. He wrote me a $10,000 bad check and he also shop lifted close to $4,000 worth of tools and jigs then laughed in my face. The judicial system would do nothing to him becouse he was a Jerry Farwell worshiper. He was above the law. Actually I was the only one charged in the incident. He charged me with phone harassment for calling him about my stolen property.

  • god bless jerry falwell

  • Ed hindson was the best teacher i ever had at LU... I do hope he is ok. Last time i got information from the place was that he was still in the hospital.

about Jerry, when i got to meet him in April '07 [the only time I was within 100 feet of him] he seemed like a happy and decent man. The teachers harped on him a bit [he was "tolerant" [in terms of being friends with Hugh Hefner]] but i'm not sure anymore. but still RIP, Dr. Falwell.

  • I found out he had died right after it happened because my dad was in a meeting with Dr. Hawkins when dr Haweins found out. I remember not being able to tell anyone and wondering how the school would survive. Doc is greatly missed but we are doing great without him. I know he would be so proud.

  • He died right before one of my finals and I was so shaken up and sad that I didn't even go to it.

My husband graduated the following week and it was without a doubt the saddest graduation I'd ever been to. They focused on Jerry and it was kind of a rain cloud over the seniors who'd spent 4+ (and it's no small task graduating in 4 years at Liberty, let me tell you!) years working on their degrees and they wanted to celebrate, but it was sooo sad. Such an awesome man!

  • Hey jofo show some respect man...what did Falwell ever do that was not admirable. Did he offend you? amybe you need some thicker skin bro.

  • Quite a story of his life. Started out knocking on doors to start a new 35 member church that met in different locations. A good and faithful servant, now a friend, now to receive his crown.

If the world spoke well of him, I would have less respect for him. But the world hated him, as they hated Jesus. Rest on Jerry. You earned it through the grace of God in Jesus Christ.

  • @LaserBreath2006 Jesus did not treat people the way that Jerry Falwell did. Jesus did not spread hatred the way that Jerry Falwell did. You should be ashamed of yourself for comparing a sinful man to the likes of your savior Jesus Christ.

  • I live right outside of Lynchburg, Va. and I was there the day he died. It was so unreal so unbelievable that he was really gone. As I walked the campus with other students we slowly began to realize. He may be gone in the body but his spirit is still there. The school and church he built has his fingerprint all over it and he is there where ever you look. He is gone from this earth but we will see him again one day when we all get to heaven. What a day that will be!

  • Dude, no offense to the cameraman, but do you have Parkinsons? Geez.

  • i still can't believe he's gone

  • i cant believe people are this evil that they are rejoicing in the death of this wonderful man of God. the difference between him and left wing loon is that he loved and laugh with those that disagreed with him eg larry flynt and john mccain. but the left wing loons will hate you and seek to destroy your reputation. God bless Falwell

  • He was a man of values something this world has little of and cares little about. When he said he loved you he meant it. He never forgot a name or a face. He was a genuine man not just a man of God. I believe when he died He went straight to the arms of our Lord and heard "Well done good and faithful servant". He never claimed you where responsible for the end of the world. He called sin what it was where it was and because of this was hated for it. I will pray for you.

  • Jerry Falwell was a good man, I always liked him! He fought the good fight. Although I'm a Mormon, we shared the same values.

  • Falwell's life inspired me. I will always believe he was a man of God I just wish God will use me as he did Falwell one day.

  • His legacy will live on in all of us he dedicated his life's work to. Praise God for what has been accomplished in one lifetime by one servant of God.

  • As I said before I am indeed sad that another human being has died, and I am even more sad that another human being is burning in hell for his sins. However when people like Pat Roberson, and Jerry Falwell claim that things like AIDS is a plague from god, were they not rejoicing in the death of others? I just say that his past caught up with him.

  • People make mistakes.I'm sure you've had your own and so have I.He was just in the media spotlight.

  • You criticize with your ignorance, and claim that he was ignorant. You call him spineless, when he had the courage to stand up for what he believed in. You call him dangerous, when he spent his life serving people and protecting the innocent. You call him a moron because of his words, but you never even heard him speak. I pity you. And I mourn the our nation's loss.

  • ReinerTorheit, is it seriously great that he is dead? If you truly feel that way then please seek institutional help. Furthermore, I'm not sure someone reveling in the death of another person who leaves behind a wife and family has any business calling another a madman. Your statement is nothing short of madness.

  • Jesus said people would vilify Godly men - - just like "ReinerTorheit" did above. In the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5:10-12, Jesus said:

"Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you."

  • That's it dude! Sharper than any two-edged sword. Jesus said it all, yo. :)

  • just a real quickie... have you ever heard him in person?

  • I personally have heard Jerry Falwell speak at TRBC many times, including the new church dedicated on July 2006. I've met & spoke to him personally after the services were over, and have his autograph.

    Jeff

  • i was talking to nethcros, but it's all good. basically, if you know him in real life, you'll know that he was sincere. i personally didn't like him when i first started going to Liberty. it wasn't until just this year that i really got to know what he was really about behind the scenes. he was a very sincere man.

  • sometimes, he was a bit bombastic, and said controversial things, but he wasn't spreading hate, and he wasn't a false prophet. you needed to know the man behind the pulpit, and not only know the image shown by the liberal media.

    *LL

  • Jerry Falwell was a great man, whether you liked his stance on certain things or not. He's an excellent example for us to all aspire to. He never gave up, never quit. He died in his office, working. He always told us he would be about the Lord's work until the day he died, and he really was serious about that.

Just have a little compassion, you wouldn't want everyone talking about someone important to you like this would you?

    *LL

  • Wow...that is some statement. It shocks me that someone can say something like that about another human being. He had a family and people who loved him. Its fine that you had your opinion about him, but the truth is, there is a time and a place to express that opinion and this was neither. And maybe he was over the line sometimes, but he was passionate about what he believed and I can only hope to achieve what he achieved someday.
