  • You have the perfect blend of cranky to informative

  • Nice video :]

  • HAHA! i laughed so hard when i saw your post, I almost cried. Most UV filters will say "UV" printed on the side if there is no number designation beside the "UV" then you can take it as a "UV-0" meaning that it essentially filters out 0(zero) UV. The main purpose for this filter, as any self-respecting photographer knows, is to protect your cameras lens. Not, i repeat, not filter UV. It is a heck of allot cheaper to replace a filter than your cameras lens.

  • @fheidema 100% correct. The issue is that they are almost ALWAYS sold as "UV filters" which implies filtering UV - at least to most people. I guess they could say its a Red(0) or protective cover. I'd prefer to see the latter. And in the case of these two filters, they descriptions on the items go into great length about the many benefits of filtering UV.

  • Do you have a suggest for a filter that does work?

  • That was very helpful! Thank you!

  • I'm sorry to say that your test is entirely flawed:

You see, when they said UV They meant UV Vodka, which will filter clear with that lens. (Or the tint of the other ingredients in the case of the flavored varieties.) If you used this on the regular brand of UV Vodka, you'll notice it is clear.

  • Its enough to drive a man to drink.
