this is such a cool video. you bring deep truths across in such an entertaining and attractive way!
your sounds are the opposite of all the pretension one is confronted with everywhere else. they're much more real, more powerful and more radiant than anything else. thank you for sharing this!
and most of modern "culture" is based on lies and pretence. Anyone telling the truth is sidelined, ignored, villified or outcast, be it entertainment, media, politics, etc. But the truth will rise, like the lotus out of the mud. :)
I agree. She should have gone to Mexico to be with her spiritual, poetic and intellectual friends, where Im sure she would have blossomed spiritually, away from Hollywood. Unfortunately she was glued/addicted to Hollywood and power, and they killed her.
Agree about festivals too. What should be heaven on earth is so often the opposite. And the youth are locked in a system of pretending to enjoy it, just to fit in.
Marilyn's natural spiritual and poetic nature was oppressed though. While she drowned in drink, drugs, anti-depressants, therapy and unhappiness, do you not think the spiritual aspect of her nature rose above. Did she, in some way, not rise from the mud? At the time the public and even her fans would not tolerate anything outside the idea of her being a stereotypical brainless sex-symbol pawn, pretending to be happy so she was an inevitable victim of all that, with no other choice.
"... that festivals are fun." heh good one. There was even a time when I felt weak for not wanting to put myself through the ordeal of festivals or raves. I couldve built a house or something with all of that energy that I gave to ???? in exchange for ????
Great vid and good message but a lot of those are judgments ...who is to know if someone is "happy" or "just pretending" ? The Greatest Art is The Art of Being Yourself! Happyness is our birth right, anything else is an act of revenge...
its very easy to gno if it is real or just pretend ... if its real it lasts continously and doesn't need antidepressants & alchohol ( as was the case with marilyn & many others). it is impossible to have lasting happiness without connection with the divine. thats what buddha and others found out.
I can tell what people are feeling much more when I myself am not stuck in my pretend performance mode. When I am not putting any energy into keeping up appearances I can connect with what is happening with people around be much much more.
these are not judgements but plain observations. most examples are of celebs whose lives are open books. what one's self really is not gnown to anyone. as hendrix says its all 'manic depression'. a sense of happiness followed by a deep sense of misery. people are pretending that they have figured it all out when they have not. its all about real honesty & sincerity in the end.
for example, what ozzy screams in 'paranoid' is a more honest assessment of the real plight of people.
I think what ozzy sang in "paranoid" was more an expression of the drugs he was taking than a generalisation of the population as a whole...although he has had a "happy marriage" for years, a successful career and lives to tell the tale!
once again all these terms 'successful & happy' are what the contention is. surely one cannot be satisfied until they gno what 'the ultimate purpose of life' is. and ozzy is no exception. "I need someone to show me
the things in life that I can't find
I can't see the things that make true happiness, I must be blind" is surely not about drugs. many without ever taking any drug have the same thought/feeling.
many but not all...the Purpose in life IS to be Happy, it is not necessarily something you do, it comes from within...it is something you ARE. Buddha taught this REALISASTION through none attachment.
how can one take even a single step in the world without judging. without any judgement everyone would be sticking a heroin needle in themselves without judging what they are taking.
if buddha hadn't made his judgement
on this world he wouldn't have
been buddha. he honestly faced the fact that
this world was full of suffering (well known story) & thats what made him leave his palace lifestyle to search for the real truth.
the point is the world as we see it is man made so in that respect you are right! If you didn't have judgment you would overlook the world entirely and ascend directly to heaven. Judgment has two uses; the ego uses it to condemn and the Holy Spirit uses it to "perceive correctly". One way leads to heaven, the other way leads you back into the world and meaninglessness, you get to choose!
we cannot judge because we cannot know...to know anything is to reach a state of Godliness where judgment as the ego perceives it does not exist. That is why I practice (from A Course in Miracles) to give judgment over to our Higher Mind...that is...to let our Godliness judge for us.
am glad you agree that the godliness is allowed to judge. ego's judgement is not judgement at all because it is tainted with conditioning & programming.
ozzy got a kick out of glamourising his "dark side" everyone knows that! Not many people took him seriously which is why he became popular ;) under every whinging brummie is a great sense of humour!
I would say the first step in every journey within starts with "self honesty" Peace is the inevitable result for anyone who looks within and seeks to find the truth!

one always has a choice.
one doesn't need to pander to public
or any other demand if one wants
spiritual ascension.
rising from the mud required her
quitting the scene she had created.
one has to step out of this victim mentality
& realize that one's own destiny is
in ones own hands. if one wants to pursue a spiritual path there are no barriers (except the self-created ones) in this or any other world.

Buddha knew that True Happiness can only come
from escaping this world of pain & suffering
through getting out of the cycle of births & deaths. Thats why he highlighted non-attachment.

'percieving correctly' is the whole point :)
thats what the whole vid was about.
'real eyes' don't come without
a direct broadband connection with the divine.

of course that is the pretentious part.
he is by no means an ideal role model.
its just better to be honest about things to take steps towards real happiness.
