  • gee yall chill on it, it was our first time playing with the patch so i got out some art books and tried to match up faces.... there are plenty of themes in the art if you have an imagination... well it was a great time, sorry if it actually disturbed any of you! lol

  • Wow great patch !

is this working with stored midi or live midi ?

  • This certainly sounds nice. :)

What about a tutorial that explains how you do something similar in Max/MSP?

  • Fantastic!! Really great, my favorite Max/msp jitter peice on you tube. ^-^

  • Nice!

  • so ben when we gonna start doing some pd together? opensource ftw!

in response to all this flaming going on: he even says it's a work in progress. i think the point of the subjectivity to art is although there may be an overwhelming intended theme, all that really matters is what you take from it, what it gives you personally. that is the connection between the artist and the observer, an overall theme might give a proper context but it's not the end-all meaning. oh and audiovisuals RULE btw.

  • i hope all of your mothers get raped.

  • how are you making the beats and synths live?

  • you're all going to hell watch the flippin video and shut yr straps

  • Is there any premise for that face in the background the whole time? If not I would recommend more background variation.

  • PREMISE: it'sAdream:you never know the ColorsThatLurk/InOne'sMind\theManyFaces we try on in 0therRealmsofConsciousness.

  • True. I know it's important to reinforce a motif. It just seems overly redundant. One person's opinion. I can still tell there is a great deal of time and effort that went into this.

  • a little redundant, yes. but time and effort...lol... not really. This is an experiment in real time processing. The visual artist is improvising in Jitter, and I am improvising the music with MSP. In the end it's all kind of just falling out of our skulls and we're just happy that it turned out to be likeable :)

  • when you say you improvising the music with MSP, what are you controlling exactly? I can guess that you're adjusting the stutter~ timing with some kind of controller's knob - but the rhythmic patterns in general, where do they come from? Are they preprogrammed in some kind of step sequencer? If not, how are they being generated?

  • Stars exploding in your ear, wearing Santana's skin, sex frantic chance, sleight of hand in wet tissue pages holding sexrets of evolution, the prayers that manifest, the dangers that profess of cosmofunk turbulence and utter ecstasy collisions, the blinking eyes of the galaxies embedded in our slumberkisses that sink us into heavens sublime...

-kitty savage (i did the live collage...)

  • too many questions kill the buzz....

drink until you are full then go ...

  • Huh?

  • okay.. accept it for what it is, for what you get out of it..

    generalized criticism is pointless...

    - It just seems overly redundant.

    - more background variation.

unless you want to be very specific and have a constructive comment that someone can actually use...I am afraid your criticism might be a little useless.

  • Have you ever been a part of a critique? Do you understand what criticism means. The definition of criticism: a serious examination and judgment of something. I really like the track and parts of the collaging are great. Did you read the first comment I posted? I was asking if the face was a theme for some reason. If not, I offered up variation as a way to solve the redundancy of a meaningless theme.

  • If you'll read further, encanti goes on to mention that, "This is an experiment in real time processing." It's more of a study if you will rather then a polished product. That cleared everything up. Useless, hardly. It was actually quite clarifying.

  • okay...if you say so. At least you are passionate about your comments.

I wouldnt call one sentence about redundancy

and the need for variation a "serious examination"----off the cuff comment..perhaps...

I just think if you are criticizing someone's work you can at least do them the favor of respectfully acknowledging the content of the work.

  • Is it just a face? and what about that monotony of the image: A scientific visage of muscles. How did it make you feel? why?

why do you feel you can lend a hand in someones art? Are you in touch with their psyche?

Why do you think "mixing it up" makes it more interesting?...Is it becasue you need MTV and are impatient?

  • The redundancy in the imagery was the only thing that I didn't like much. That's the way I felt about it. I thought I might be missing something though. So, I asked if it was a theme for any particular reason. Well, it turned out to be an experiment - pretty plain and simple. Otherwise, I truly do like this project.

  • Why would "mixing it up" help? This is because if you continue a theme that has no meaning, what's the point? You are not reinforcing anything. That's a mute point though, because again this is an experiment.

  • Why do I feel I can lend a hand in someones art? Look, if you can put your work out there you better be able to a) Answer questions about the work, and/or b) Be able to hear criticism and what people think about it. By the way, no I'm not not fueled by a need for MTV and impatience. Watch the movie stalker by Andrei Tarkovsky. Slow, but one of my favorites.

  • trippy as fuk!

  • cool!

  • nice work man!

  • You'r right man. This is incredible nicence sounds and work.. Congrats..

  • I like this a lot! Trippy, and aesthetically pleasing. Max/msp is amazing. Jitter looks quite powerful and cool, too. Fricken cool job.
