  • It's octopi

  • @FoolyCoolyMabase

Nope. We set out to solve the mystery of multiple octopuses and it is indeed octopuses or octopodes if you want to be particularly particular.

    octopi is most incorrect

  • That's SO cool to see these baby octopus! I bet this isn't something that happens on a daily basis that you can see.

  • That is so awesome!

  • SQUIDDLES

  • So that's how my semen looks under a microscope. Thanks, VanAqua.

    Why U So Cute?

  • They taste like wet chicken...

  • Thanks for the comments about the music. Glad to hear @AspiringZebra picked up on the Neil Young soundtrack influence. We're happy to be working with the Aquarium on their music library. Music underscoring for these amazing images in lots of fun.

  • I want to adopt this baby octopus.

  • I like octopus salad.

  • The music was composed for us the Vancouver design studio Lift. They are some talented designer/musicians.

  • Yep, love the music, would love to know the song and artist. And yep, that Ben Templesmith sent me here, too.

  • Ben Templesmith sent me!!!! HAIL SQUID!! ;)

  • I thought it was "octopodes"

  • What's the song in the background!? Anyone? Anyone?!

  • @anotherdamnkid is right, tell us the name of this song, please!

  • @mbate001 Soundhound can't find it. I want to know too!

  • Aw how cute!!!

Also loved the song does anyone know the name of it?

  • @AspiringZebra It might be from Neil Youngs last album "Le Noise". or "DeAd Man soundtrack".. sounds like him

would like to know as well ... fitting song!

  • What a great little alien! Hey - what's the music in this clip? It's pretty nice.

  • kill it with fire

  • I hope PZ Meyers gets to see this!

  • I wonder how many will grow to maturity? As best I can tell, octopus young are pretty new to most facilities...I haven't heard of much octopus breeding. I'm sure it'll be a good challenge for Vanaqua. :)

  • @MissDeizibug Unfortunately, they will all likely die. :( The mother layed 70,000 eggs and only 300 hatched. The father died within 37 days of mating (normal) and the mother will almost certainly die within a few weeks of the first hatchlings appearing (also normal) They simply don't have the knowledge necessary to allow them to survive. They will definitely try though!

  • That's awesome :) I can't wait to study marine biology

  • I hope one day this sort of octopus breeding becomes successful

  • :D
