I think you did a good job. Be careful not to go flat when going falsetto. I also noticed it in the beginning. The intention was great. I think you should focus a little less on enticing and more on conviction. I also don't know if you need the accent. Unless of course you performed this in a show.

Trust me, I'm well aware what Cabaret is, having been in the show myself. I am also fully confident in saying that the EMCEE does not traditionally run around the stage in scantily clad clothing. That was just a look developed in the most recent broadway revival.

PS: Cabaret is a musical, not a play. It is based on the play "I Am a Camera" which in turn is based on the novel "The Berlin Stories".

I have to agree with some other comments on here. I have been looking at preparing this song as a possible audition song because it can display great range/character depth. You have an amazing voice but with a song like this you really need to put yourself more into it. It's hard when this song has been so beautifully done by Alan but you really need to make it your own. Great job and keep up the work.

That was pretty good. I don't think it was an exact copy of Alan Cumming, you didn't push the notes as much as he did dynamically speaking. as for the German accent and stuff that's the character of the MC. A little bit more of your own charaterization would have been nice, but for just singing the song It was very good.

Okay so here's my professional bit:

In a recording like this you should make sure that you can still hear the pp bit at the beginning, and the accent should never get the way of understanding.

My Pedagogical comment would be more for the emotional slides and dramatics, should never take the piece off key. Rule to live by: No matter how beautiful the sound is, no one wants to listen to it if it is off pitch. And many times I found that it was falling, especially with the runs down.
