@vergilsvamp She had no powers until the second battle with Sorceress Edea, after the battle Edea gave Rinoa her powers which was controlled by a sorceress from the future (Ultimecia), so Ultimecia was able to control her. Ultimecia made Rinoa open the seal of another evil sorceress in space (Adel). Rinoa is the daughter of Julia, the woman that Laguna always watched play piano in the Galbadia Hotel.

Don't be so harsh on him. Hey if i was was a moron like him and had so clue who Square-Soft or now Square-Enix was, then i would have figured this was a animated movie. Square pushes the limits to every system, and it will be great to see exactly what there going to do with the FFXIII series.
