Morever China has a very poor track record on the quality of their goods. The chinese aren't like the Japanese or the Koreans who put emphasis on quality. China is more like a hit and run salesman. Their products are cheap, but the quality is vastly inferior, mainly due to the suppliers who cut corners.
In part I agree with you, but I think your analysis leaves out some important and critical points: "Chinese quality" is variable. Sure, they kick out a lot of cheap crap. But on the other hand, many of the world's best companies have invested a lot of money and, more importantly, TOOLING there. They now have extensive industrial capacity and a broad industrial base with excellent precision machinery brought in by some of the world's best companies.

they were clearly attempting to test the feasibility of tactical nuclear weapons, genius lol. Launch a nuclear weapon, then rush soldiers in to clean anything up. Think of it as like, dropping a conventional weapon on a terrorist cell, then sending in Marines to make sure the area is clear except in this case replace the conventional weapon with a nuclear warhead.
If you pay attention to the video, you will see that these soldiers are very far away from the blast. They probably got exposed to radiation but not a lethal doze. Look at early american nuclear tests and you will see what I am talking about. This was Chinas first nuclear test in 1964, later they developed thermonuclear weapons wich are more powerful.
america is actually more advanced than japan at the highest level (not in everyday crap like the subway trains, i mean at like a military/government level) and is still the most powerful nation on earth lol. China's gettin there though, hope the US and China can learn to work together instead of butt heads.

Can't tell if this is real or not, so many different camera angles and I don't recognize the Leader there at the time. Just judging by the film quality I would say it was shot in the 60's it almost looks like it's from a movie or what not. Either way if it was REAL WTF? If they had any doubt about fall out they could have just asked Japan, It's doubtful any of them lived. If it's real. With that house blowing up isn't that footage from some other film?
If anyone cares...They were trying to conduct field manuvers to see WHAT WOULD HAPPEN because they did not know for sure how much damage the fallout could do. They wanted to see how their troops could perform working in tandem with nukes.
And yes it is horrible what they did to their troops, but they were thought of as largely expendable. At least they have great enthusiasm...
