  • Fuck I want 1

  • this video is like 5 years old, guys

  • feedback looping... advantages of feedback looping... feedback looping...

Is this the video for feedback looping?

  • I can do that by pressing 1 button on my Djm 2000 lol

  • dont get me wrong, i dont mind these tools for djing and mixing, but if it takes away track selection and shit it's just gay.

  • @DamianNeate Why would it? He can't base his set entirely on loops, samples and effects for 3 hours straight. Of course he has a track list, and from what I've heard of him so far, he's got great track selection.

  • Pardon my ignorance, but what controller is that EFX unit?

  • he is master

  • he makes it look sooo easy

  • its just stupid how people are telling him what software to use when its obvious that hes one of the best out there, hahaa

  • can you do these tirkcs on the efx 500

  • @lewisformosa1 You can do some of them, but the EFX-500 doesn't have the sample memory of the 1000. You can loop four beats/one bar on the 500, eight beats/two bars on the 1000. I've used both.

  • I think all this is really starting to take away from the music in theese days. Kinda sad

  • That's pretty cool

  • Try Ableton & Max Msp .. much better !

  • @BurganBrian Thumbs up mate. I see a lot of 'laptop djs suck' comments from people who dont know what on earth is goin on.

For the uninitiated, ableton is NOT a dj software. It can be customized to do that- Like if you used your fighter jets to lift water from the well or something. I do agree it has made the scene over crowded with anyone and everyone tryin their hand at djing. But its not about the tools. Its about the ideas (given that theyre original!).

    Its the losers who're insecure!

  • @tadambaila Hell F**king Yes

  • There's always a way around everything - in this case for a lack of money (for pricey equipment) and for a lack of skills (ie. Zabiela's after-a-lot-of-long-hours-practicing skills). I wanted to spice my sets with cool FX tricks like these, but couldn't afford the gear, so I started looking for a way around it - and guess what - I did. and it works perfectly for me. Hint: you can create edits on your computer before hand! ;)

  • and where is the fun now `?

  • did anyone count how many times he says "feedback looping"?

  • All this shit is a fucking joke.....

  • clean ur room Zabiela !!!

  • some people might not see these as tricks but your videos are very useful since they can apply to most FX Units if peeps use their imagination a bit

  • The music should come first. The money is secondary. If all you want is money and fame from DJing than I think it will be very hard for you.

  • I don't even use turntables... Scratching is more of a hip-hop thing, and you don't need turn-tables to beat match any more. Actually, for dj's of other genres they can actually get in the way (although they are useful for those who are already use to vinyl).

  • @tylerfolio actually dude i don't know what you use to beat match but they are usually incredibly unreliable. plus you have more freedom with vinyl for controlling your music, especially if you have a serato or traktor setup, and a controller for effects can add even more.

plus i scratch dubstep all the time, not just hip-hop

  • hater!!! hes just trying to show u some of the stuff u probably dont know how to do!!! who says this video makes him the shit? or taht he only uses effects!!?

  • very good point....i love the people who say its all pressing buttons, and they dont know how to do it

  • dexter3b - wake up out of that dream. how dare you dream of being a dj! how dare you!

listen m8 you dont need 2 spend 3 grand on decks. Just get yourself some CDJ400 or CDJ800 decks and a DJM 600 mixer. You should be able 2 get them all in good condition for about £1500 maybe less. You dont need all these fancy effects. 99% of a good mix is down to the tune selection anyway.

  • guess its best to get our own equipment first before looking for dj gigs at clubs? I have been using the numark total control. its a usb interface and after I make the switch to the cdj800 ima be crazy on that thing X)

  • @subtenko

i beg to differ.. i work clubs.. i dont have my whole setup yet.. i was lucky and learned on the clubs kit but its kinda crap. that helped in a way though cause if you can mix with our POS setup then your good to go on anything.. the problem in my opinion, and dont feel insulted by this, is that i dont think you will be any better if you buy better gear. catch my drift ?

  • @djtyme2008 Oh good point! I got my first gig next month but just not at a club (im mobile djing right now) Im about to buy all the lighting and stuff and thinkin about buying the cdj 400s or just save up for the 900s and use my Numark Total controll +laptop for this gig

  • @smethybaggie Couldn't have said it better myself.

  • this just kills music!!! I dont like these type of djs!

  • i have a question, could i have this efx1000 with no cdj , like just hook to my computer or im i sounding stupid?

  • was in Romania at Kristal Glam club 05.10.2009 search on youtube watch and learn :D was amazing :)

  • This guy was amazing at E.D.C in los angeles 2009.

  • Tip 01: Buy a pioneer efx unit hahahahaha

  • @CollinShots 10000% agree!

  • Comment removed

  • DOES NOT MATTER IF YOU PLAY SHIT MUSIC

  • that pioneer EFX machine is the shit, thanks zabiela for showing tricks.. keep it up

  • hes famuos you don't fucker haha now whos the fag you!!!

turntables are old shit fuck that!

  • obviosly you dont know shit

  • djing is more than turntables now. sorry noob.

  • @duskball629 i dont totally agree coz what you say is dry ,,, and sorry but u seem noobb"ier!!

  • neggative guys in the comments suck . i dont think i have to give them the reasons .. waste of time

  • @duskball629 for me this is way away from djing. For me playing like this is more controllerism than djing. It is a skill to be able to beatmatch, and its a skill knowing your units like this guy do in his performances. So stop saying this is shit djing. Start to understand that this is a new way to manipulate the magic of the music. Time never stops folks, don't be to conservative. Recognize the value of oldschool and open your heart and your ears for James Zabiela!

  • @duskball629 ur calling james a noob, hahah u know nothing bout music u fuckin numb nuts

  • Hi im 14 and i wonder how much money can earn dj like james zabiela, coz he is 17th on a 100top world dj`s

  • good question, well, I knew he earns like $50 thousands per gig, but he really worths =D

  • Its more like $20,000 a weekend friday and saturday one session per night.

  • do it for the music

  • DJing will never earn you money like Zabiela's unless your as good as him. You start off playing in shitty little venues and earn yourself a reputation working your way up. I dont mean to ruin your dreams but if you think your going to get a set of CDJs and get over £12,000 for playing an event straight away, then i think you need to wake up out of that dream! haha

  • who said i want to be a dj?

  • no one did, so dont try being clever. it was a comment of advice that if you are wanting to get into DJing, dont set your sights on playing at that level within a year of getting yourself some CDJs like most people do and then they sell them the year later because there not playing in ibiza!

  • Dont try being clever? Why wouldnt i? If it was a comment of advice then thanks, but it seems like you are pro and dont like ppl that want to try djing and if they dont like it sell their gear. So what? It`s just like everything, you need to try. You won`t know if you like apple before you try it.

  • its not that at all, this is where your age is coming into play. my point was people spend over £3000 (not you) on equipment thinking they will get it straight away and be playing in clubs within a few month and then when they arent they spit their dummy out. i have nothing against eople who want to try DJing, ive taught my mates how to beatmatch who wanted to learn and let them use my equipment when ever they want. hey use it yourself if you want!!!!

  • 3000? Really smart people

  • exactly, so i wasnt having a dig at you

  • who said you didn't?

  • pretty cool

  • that helped me so much m8! =]

  • hard & great!!!

  • Great tips, and greatly appreciated!

  • irony

  • FSX 1000

  • which mixer is he using?

  • mm, didn't get a good look but seeing as the rest of his gear is pioneer i'm gonna say it'd either be a pioneer djm 800 or djm 1000...

  • it's an djm 1000. djm 800 has 4 channels and djm 1000 has 6 chanelss.

  • i saw zero mixers with zero channels

  • In this video there is no mixer... He's just using a simple Pioneer Effector and a CD player

  • what's that song called? it's joy

  • good shit!

  • thats amazing man, like your mum used to say thought.... tidy your room!!!

  • Amazing!!!!

  • the man is a legend

  • Awesome video, thanks for the tip.

  • Good job!!
