God will throw you into Eternal Hellfire for watching bad videos. When He decides to burn your poor flesh from your bones, He will care not that you do not accept His existence.
Heh! Sure looks like it. Actually, it's Carl Sagan's proverbial candle in the dark. Maybe they should make it wiggle with a little motor. Or maybe better not. :D
learn that "all your base are belong to us" is actually a video game reference. Specifically the English Translated version of Zero Wing for the Sega Genesis/Mega-drive.
where in the world did you get the idea it's from anime?
lol chrisitans dont even know what being a christian really is, only their own perception of it, if they followed it down to the teeth...the world would be in REAL TROUBLE!!! im glad that many of these people actually use some restraint and dig into their own family and social morality to not commit violent and mean acts agaist people that dont conform to their beleifs
Yeah, It is sad that everyone back then was a pagan when it came to religion, At least now days through the history of trial and error people know what is right and wrong by the sheer Power of the phrase "Treat others how you want to be treated" If you live by that phrase, infact if everyone lived by that phrase Things would be a lot better
hehe I really don't want to do it but the android at the beginning of the video HAHA! does seem life-like. A video promoting free thinking, HAHA I can't stop laughing, needs a better dude for the job. This is 1 of the sorriest video that I've seen but its halarious. What $30 bucks for that book HAHA! HEHE that android dude at the beginning probably has like 3 degrees HAHA! Sorry I usually don't make fun of people but HAHA that fucn gy ast the start HEHE. for an android he seems so life like HAHA
I hate it when people use the term 'free-thinker'. We are all free-thinkers; free to think and believe anything we want. Some of us are just more gullible than others.
Nobody is a free thinker. Humans are conditioned animals. Genetics go through a selective process and behavior does too(consequences determine behavior). We behave because of a genetic endowment, pre-natal chemical environment, post-natal chemical environment, classical conditoning, opernat conditioning and traumatic factors. Why do people think the brain works independent of experience? They are conditioned to reject conditioning. Long live ignorance. Our culture is a model factory.
If all that is true, explain why a pair of identical twins, both genetically the same, can succumb to genetically inherited diseases at different rates. We are a product of not only our genetics, but our subjective interpretation of stimuli. In short, we are a sum of what we have inherited and what we have gathered on our own...you may not be a free thinker, but I am.
Your presupposition that the twins are the same is mistaken. Being in different parts of the womb, having different experiences, eating different foods and millions of other differences render your premise, which your argument is based on, completely false. As for your other comment. I said we are the product of our evolutionary history, environmental history and the current situation. I can't see where the conflict lies. If you find your assessment in conflict with that I can't argue.
As for being a free thinker You have a brain that developed through billions of years of evolution, you were conceived and then with every experience your brain formed different connections. Stimuli trigger thoughts and you think. What you think is dependent on millions of variables. The language you learned, the situations you are faced with, the brains development and countless other things.
When you replied to mt post your brain behaved exactly the way it should if anyone could know all the variables that played a role. We can't know them. Our ignorance of variables and inability to predict behavior allows people to superstitously say they have free thought without anyone being able to contradict it. Our culture also reinforces this assertion. People in this country love to see something that we don't understand. We will heap praise on anything we find utterly unexplainable.

Reminds me of Christopher Hitchens when asked if he believed in free will. He usually replies "I'm sure that we have free will. We have no other choice!"
The reason is that Stenger doesn't actually appear in this video. Just some lame ass self promoting 'freethinkers', or whatever they want to call themselves. I mean what a bunch of nerds really. But I do think Stenger has a lot of good points.
