I just got this game today and after watching the gameplay video it looks fun. :D I think I will like the game. Kinda reminds me of Final Fantasy a little bit.

@AnimeistehLIFE47 Valkyrie Profile Lenneth is way better in my opinion (storywise and gameplaywise). But get both! This game is impressive for a DS rpg though. ;)

When you get to a point like that, the best option would be to sacrifice one of your allies.

On the contrary, sacrificing too many allies is what got you into that situation in the first place. My advice is to only sacrifice allies during difficult rescue missions and if you run into realmstalkers.

You buy a lot of the skills in the shop with the rest coming from rewards.

You don't have to use the plume, the plume usage decides what ending you get and what story line you follow, not using the plume is what is considered to be the hardest story line(although it is quite easy).

You have to get all of the endings to do the Seraphic Gate though.

I was wondering if you had to kill Ancel at the beginning to advance in the game. And is it possible having 0 sin? Because sometimes the foe dies because one of your attacks were too strong not because you purposely did an 'Overkill'.

As far as I read, you get a best ending for NEVER using the plume.

Hoooom.... this looks much better than I first anticipated. although I'm still slightly disappointed that there's such little emphasis put on the stylus, yet again.

That's just it: in most games we've seen for the DS thus far, the stylus has been little else than a gimmick, and the only ones which actually use it with any sense of urgency are usually brain-teaser trivia sets and the like. Don't get me wrong, if you're into that stuff then more power to you, but so far, the only game for the DS that uses the stylus and feels like a GAME has been The World Ends With You, and it's disappointing to see that one of the biggest points of the system is neglected.

They probably changed Karma to Sin because Sin is more towards Christian ideology; although the problem with that is, Sin is heelish while Karma is tweenish. I agree with Felcis that Wyl sounds like a forced emo instead of a natural emo; but it is far from terrible. I disagree with Little Rachael on Icy Grave since the Japanese version is Icicle Grave; but I wish English Darius realize that the Japanese version did not have a pause between the chant and name.

I must have heard the voice and compared it to the attack which used a sphere shape ball; so I assume it was Grand Sphere which sounds less bland than Spear or even Thrust.

Okay, Wyl sounds a bit too "forced emo" but it still has a good feeling in it when hearing him. And I just love Darius´ samples. I don´t know if the tormented voice is suitable (I´m waiting for the western release), but it sounds great in my ears.

Oh my God...the voices...Okay, Cheripha's is cute and I like Gwendal's, but...Wyl's is absolutely HORRID. And Darius' is still pretty poor. Icy Grave? Why!? WHY!? Yeah, I guess they think "Karma" is too complicated a word for American audiences...

A few notes:

Meteor Swarm keeps the Valkyrie Profile 1 chant (the one in complete sentence instead of the phrases in VP 2.)

Maleificant Harm is from VP2; but they remove the lore part from "..of Hell's lore dances.."

Hurricane Rain is Catastrophic Rain.

Divine Blow is Rightious Rush.

Augustane's Soul Crush is Hundred Hands; but I haven't got him yet; although I expect his voice to be ruined.

Some of us heard the Japanese version of him; and he sounded so awesome that we predicted in advance that no English voice would be able to top the performance. I just did it so I wouldn't be dissapointed in advance either and have a better experience playing the game as a whole. I have heard Auguste's voice on Youtube but the videos have a lot of lag and couldn't get a call on the voice. His regular voice sounds all right; but I couldn't tell his Soul Crush since it kept getting skipped.

By the way; I heard Mischika and I absolutely hate her guts. Her voice and acting aren't the issue; but her lines... She sounds like she is in the wrong game or something. She now steals Kashell's record for being the most annoying character in all of Valkyrie Profile. "Did I Make You Cry?" "You're Only In The Way".

Mischka is a boy, Mireille(his twin sister) is the girl.

His lines are perfect, he and his twin sister are sociopaths who are also still children so they will say things like that instead of what a full grown sociopath would say.

Hmmm, true I suppose. When they dubbed Vesperia, I predicted they could never match Norio Wakamoto's performance of that crazy Barbatos. And as I thought, they couldn't really. Though not their fault. No one really can make a big guy sound that sinister the way Wakamoto can.
