  • his left hand technique is bad and hes not even playing the chromatic scale.

  • He got no technique at all..

  • Long nails

  • Did not work

  • thumbs if you tried to exit the ad at the beginning...-_-

  • hey thanks for the help. i was trying this scale and i played it really bad compared to the blues scale. your positioning techniques helped alot! :D

  • bro this isnt even the chromatic scale chromatic scale is all the notes and their semitones on all strings you might as well have called this chromatic scale minus 6 notes

  • you totally did help me!!! thanks. ...

  • i didnt know he was using a pick O_O

  • his picking technique sucks balls, ugh x_x

  • Good lesson, I mostly play classical and don't use a pick. Is this still a good thing to practice ?

  • geez people shut up about his nails who gives a fuck if they're a little long. gah lol

  • @spacenoise5 your supposed to have long nails when you don't use a pick

  • cut your nails dude

  • i was wondering what is the significance of chromatic scale? what is its purpose? and what can you do with it?

  • @lolcudlol It's supposed to teach you each note that exists. I don't like this lesson because he doesn't teach the notes, just shows the fingering. The Chromatic Scale is just every note that exists. A, A#/Bb, B, C, C#/Db, D, D#/Eb, E, F, F#/Gb, G, G#/Ab, A. This helps you figure out what root note to put your finger on when playing chords. If you were playing a G chord, you would know to put your root note on the Third fret of the E string (E - Open, F - 1st fret, F# - 2nd, G - 3rd) and so on

  • @lolcudlol its to build up finger speed and strength :)

  • 2:18-2:43 Thats what she said

  • @TheOrganicBeats you're silly haha

  • that nail can cut anybodys head off with one fatal swipe

  • is there a definition for a musical scale? is it just a sequence of notes?

  • @xnotoriousss yes

  • @xnotoriousss

Yes... it's all mathematical, and music is based off the chromatic scale.

  • all my fingers can reach the frets except for the pinky i keep getting in the middle of the two frets.

  • so as you are moving up the frets, you should keep your fingers on the frets even after you sound a given note?

  • Thank you SOOO much!

  • Thanks. I get a better idea from watching this.

  • do you keep your fingers on the string the whole time or just one finger held down at a time?

    (sry bout the dumb question)

  • Hello! The note in the fourth fret on the G string is the note B. Because the open note of the next string is also B you don't have to play that note. Otherwise you would play the same note twice :-)

  • nice !

  • Wow! I'm re-learning the guitar and I never realized that bit about the palm/thumb giving your fingers more coverage of the strings! Thanks!

    ----Mike

  • and you can make up any riff/melody whit in that scale ,right?

  • his thumb nail is really long...

  • ewewew its a built in pick : p

  • @billbraid myabe because he plays guitar idiot

  • came to this thinking it was a solo scale cuz buckethead uses chromatic scales and i find out its something i can play in 6 or less seconds..huh..

  • that was extremely helpful thank you!!

  • thanx so much....

  • cool..it became so much easier to learn with peter...=D

  • Great video's

    He's young in this one.

  • very good video! my problem is with the motion of my pinky, for some reason it is the only finger that automatically moved up everytime i'm going to hit the not :(

  • See I'm In Middle school And in music were learning Gutairts And We Have to make up a song and play it in fornt Of the class So this is perfect thxx so much Ps It due tommaow = D

  • Try some "slow motion" practice to cut down on the amount of motion by fingers. Also try sitting in front of a full length mirror. You will easily see what your fingers are doing.

  • some of the best lessons on youtube please keep them coming=]

  • very great drill. but how do i keep my fingers from sticking out? specially the index?

  • Peter

Keep these great tutorials coming. This is a real good service you are providing Merry Christmas

  • Thanks for posting this Peter!

I'm having trouble incorporating my pinky finger in my chords, hopefully a few weeks of practicing this scale technique will train my fingers to cooperate better.

  • this takes a few weeks *no worries :D

when i tried this, i hardly could even strech my pinky that far
