Well recently Boston globe did write a story bout tea party protests... and what we got was things like - im against government hand outs, but I rely on medicare for my kids (which is a handout...) or a veteran saying hes against government run healthcare yet his healthcare is considered the most socialist thing in America... things like that make the tea party's creditably destroyed.

What is your definition of a "tax cut"? What Obama promised as a "tax cut for 95% of Americans" is quite misleading. 40 - 45% of those people do not even pay taxes. It's a handout. But Obama and the government call it a "tax cut." It's part of Newspeak I guess.

My definition of tax cut is when the amount of taxes I have to pay gets 'cut' to a lower amount. That is exactly what happened.

So "tax cuts" are now defined by whatever you think? A tax cut is a CUT in the percentage that your income is taxed at. That is NOT the case with Obama's plan. What about those who don't pay federal income taxes? How can they receive a CUT if they don't pay anything? Quite the paradox; maybe it isn't a tax cut after all.

About your supposed paradox. Those people to whom you refer to as paying no taxes, actually do pay SS and MediCare taxes. Their tax cut comes from those contributions instead of the Fed tax which they are exempted from.

No, what you defined there is tax relief, not a tax cut. And Obama's tax relief consists of handouts, or refundable credits. Yes, workers do pay SS out of their payroll. But those rates aren't being cut (hence no tax cut). These people are being handed checks. It's a giant redistribution of wealth scheme. However, there will be a tax increase on "rich" people making $250k+. They will see a 5% increase to fund the redistribution process. Politics is always deceptive.
