I absolutely love this film. It has been a personal favorite of mine for many years. I know almost all the words to all the songs. I hope they don't remake this movie. It is a classic that can stand on its own.

I think JJ means that they're supposed to be singing for the baby, but really they're confessing thier love for eachother and arguing about whether they'll stay in Sweethaven or go out to sea together.

Robin Williams and Shelly Duvall were fantastic in these roles. Unfortunately, as I recall, this movie didn't do so well at the time. It was blasted by critics for being such a snoozer. If only a better script was written, this could have been a classic!

@finster1968: Better script? It was 100% faithful to the musical comic Segar wrote in the 1920's and also faithful to the early Max Fliesher cartoons, so you couldn't get better than that!
