In case you don't recall, Predident Clinton made a speech in 1998 about Saddam being a threat and that he needs to be taken out of office. If he would have invaded Iraq then, I feel he would have put the future Democratic nominee in danger of being elected.Saddam was using weapons of mass destruction in Isreal and on his own people according to Clinton's speech in 1998. Sorry, but some comments here are wrong. Pres Bush never once said that Iraq was behind 9/11. Neither did anyone representing his Administration either. Some others did, yes. But he didn't. What he DID say was that we believed Saddam had WMD's, that we knew he was associating w/ & training Terrorists, and if he passed on his country's WMD training, skills, or WMD's themselves, to those Terrorists that it could result in something MUCH worse than 9/11! That was the whole point.
