  • that not a gtp. no supercharger sound. i used to have a mx6 with the klze and my buddies stock 98 gtp beat it no problem.

  • If it's all stock like the guy claims, you wouldn't hear the supercharger too well. Especially over that Probe's exhaust.

  • wrong probe then there was one just like that in the chillicothe area if u kno where that is

  • @Anthony1999gtp gtps r good runnin cars. the motors outta 99 gtp. they run mid to high 14s stock. its 100 percent stock...its a sleeper. the gp weighs 3494 lbs with a 230 lb driver. The probe weighs 2600 lbs with a 150 lb driver with bolt ons. has custom y pipe headers,borla catback exhaust. stage 3 clutch 5 speed.. an a couple other mods.. very close race i had him the hole time but he caught me between 80 to 100. the probes best e.t. so far is a 14.3 at 100.53 mph but horrable 60 ft times

  • Either something is way off on that GTP or he took off the supercharger belt to make things a little more fair lol. GTP is rated at 240hp and 289 tq from factory for some of the guys who commented a different number. Seriously though, does who ever have the GTP have a bad trans or just doesnt do any maintenance or something? :S

  • @themarker22 the probe runs mid 14s...the gtps are 240 hp an 280 torque... but 3494 pound car... the probe is 2600 5 speed with some mods... probe gts run 15.0s stock.... u get the right driver u can pull 14s all day....

  • @mikesirocz355 i own i 95 probe gt 5 speed with a klze(35 more hp) and i have a buick lesabre with the supercharged engine with HIGHER GEARS than a gtp and the lesabre (weighing 1000 pounds more) hands the probe its ass, this is simply NOT a gtp its a gt, and this is exactly the outcome of a pgt vs a gpgt NOT a gtp, i have videos to back all of my statements... i love my probe gt, but it simplky cant hang with an l67 no matter what car its in.

  • its a 95 with the 93 motor... the 93 motor makes the most horse an torque... has full exhaust an a custom y pipe.... has a full ram intake....

  • @mikesirocz355 false....from 93-97 gt,gts. whatever.. there all klde engines. 165 stock hp. 93 does not make anymore hp or trq.

  • @frankyw729 actually to be exact..... there 164 hp.... but theres a vin number thats on the motor that u can run.... 93 has 164 hp an 160ft lbs of torque... depends on the year... all motors r different.... there all not kldes either, theres several different types that come in the cars. the klde is the best one made by the us... the cams are better then the others. like the klze. thats the mazda version...

  • @mikesirocz355 dude.......they klze is the mazda engine you are correct about that.. all american probes that you buy are all klde engines or kl03. i've been workin on these cars for about 10 years now. every probe is a klde. you can put the klze in your probe if you have a probe with a klze in it then it didnt come that way. the klze is a j spec engine. makes around 200hp i dont wanna argue with you but your wrong

  • @frankyw729 dude i not wrong.... look it up research dont lie.... there is 4 motors that come in them... 4 different sets of cams.klo1.klo3. klde. klze. theres a difference in the motors.... they all still run pretty good but my 94 has the klde cams in it... the klde is the best one made from us. they do produce probes with the mazda engine from factory... they produced 5217 probes they came factory with the klze cams in 97... that was the last year for them.... with the different intake runners

  • that was a good race lol thank God it wasnt my probe 4 cylinder se 120hp i would have been embarassed after the lost then tow my car was it over heated like crazy thank god i dont have it anymore

  • If it is all about power to weight ratio, the math does not agree with you mike

    .057 hp per lb for probe

    .070 hp per lb for gtp

    17.43lbs per 1 hp probe

    14.16lbs per 1 hp gtp

    (this is using the 164 / 2860

    and 240 / 3400 numbers)

    this is for a fully stock cars (and assuming your 164 horsepower claim for the probe is accurate.)

    Granted this does not take into consideration tranny, torque, power loss from the fly to the wheel, and a TON of other things needing to be considered.

  • i have a 94 pgt... my car weighs 2690.... has 164 hp an 160 ftlbs torque stock... it has a few things like obx headers an a full intake with a stage 2 clutch... but it the gearing in the pgts that make them so quick... my best et is a 14.68 at 99.6 mph... that was with 18 inch wheels

  • too bad you couldn't hear the whine of the s/c over that fart can on the probe.

  • too bad the supercharger didnt help..... the lil stock 2.5 runs pretty good.......

  • the gtp is 280 hp ..... the pgt is 164 hp..... the probe weighs 2860lbs.... the gtp weighs 3400 lbs... theres n comparison to the 2.... the pgts r just geared way better ....

  • its actually 280 tq, 240 hp.

    2nd gear in the gtp does blow, those trannys are known for sucking the big 1.

    the engine is a beast though.

  • u r correct..... the motors r strong but the trannys do suck.... they dont have no top end either....but when it comes down to it its a horse power to weight ratio... the grandprixs are to heavy.....
