i ferrari is no better then a Z06...and most ferraris are worse (california, 612, 458,360) but you pay 2-4 times as much for nothing other then that prancing horse logo. and ferraris are much less reliable...i have a 2007 z06 with around 60k miles that still runs fine, and my neighbor has a 458 italia that has 16k miles and is getting the engine rebuilt...we've raced several times, i've won every single time, and its not skill cause we've traded cars and he won using by vette.

The Lambos and Ferrari's usually handle better due to the Mid engine design and accelerate better because the American car companies haven't figured out how to properly put 500 hp down right away. The Japs have it figured out though, with their awd designs. BMW M3's are beasts at the track, but a Evo's still going to be cheaper.

Leaf springs are only a small part of the rear suspension. It's not a truck. Where else do you get 436hp and great handling for $45k brand new?

I know people that have Ferrari's as dailt drives. Corvettes fall apart, the keyless go system on the zr1 breaks on 3 out of 5 examples, the bootlock disitegrates. The seatbelt comes away, the interior has been reported to smell like glue. The panel gaps inside are nearly an inch. It is a terrible motor vehicle.
I'm not force fed anything. I use to hate Corvettes too. But if you do the math, there is no other car that can perform so well for so little money. And no self-respecting person would rather have a Daewoo than a Corvette.
I have news for you- all American cars have fit and finish issues. In fact, the Corvette is pretty much the only American car I would buy.
Unless you are rich and can afford a Ferrari, Lambo, etc., the Corvette offers similar performance for a fraction of the price.
@nkx1 corvette is far from reliable. If you look at all the Technical Service Bulletins for each series. You can definitely tell their build quality. My cousin owns a F430 and quality is non comparible.
I currently have a Toyota Solara (most reliable car I've ever had), and there are a ton of TSBs for it. TSBs, therefore, would not be an accurate metric of reliability.
I don't know anyone with a Ferrari, but you can go on any Ferrari forum and quickly conclude that Ferrari's are not a car that can be daily driven without significant maintenance. Conversely, there are many people that daily drive Corvettes. Therefore, it can be reasonable concluded that Corvettes are more reliable.
I apologize. I was referring to the tsb for mechanical failure. Also corvettes cannot be daily driven without significant maintenance either. Ask any owner of a corvette who drives their car everyday and properly maintains it. Also see how fast their trannys go.
There are no TSBs for Corvettes regarding mechanical failure to my knowledge, except the steering lock problem on C5s (easily fixed). So that point is pretty moot.
A Corvette can be daily driven just fine. Just go to corvetteforum(dot)com and you'll see there are many, many people who do so.
I've never heard of eminent auto or 6spd tranny failure from daily driving a Corvette. There are C5 Corvettes with well over 100k on them and still running just fine (reference corrvetteforum site).

@plumber60 my only problem with your comment is that the reason those trucks and in there in the first place is because they lsat forever, i'm not sure if ive ever seen a ferrari with 100k on the clock, and dont there check ups cost up to 20k. a corvette is for someone with a little extra cash and that likes sportscars, most people who have ferrari cant drive because they dont get to drive it very often, or possibly because they only use it to cruise the local cities to look cool

i ferrari is no better then a Z06...and most ferraris are worse (california, 612, 458,360) but you pay 2-4 times as much for nothing other then that prancing horse logo. and ferraris are much less reliable...i have a 2007 z06 with around 60k miles that still runs fine, and my neighbor has a 458 italia that has 16k miles and is getting the engine rebuilt...we've raced several times, i've won every single time, and its not skill cause we've traded cars and he won using by vette.

@TheArfdog I had a friend that did some SCCA road racing, and another fellow that had the fastest in class lap at Road America in some old BMW. They started doing some local stock car racing and man it was funny, the BMW guy was pitiful, Jaques was his name, he restored nice old Euro rides. A real racer would eat you play racers up, it;'d just the way it is. Don't believe me, hop in a stock car on an oval and see how bad you get spanked.

And alot of the time the drivers tend to e old, and don't know how to drive it, or just think their car is top shit in the world. They are fast, my uncles has a ZO6, but he's kinda an ass. @bighunt08 I'd rather have a Corvette anyway. Just shipping a Ferrari over to America would cost a fortune.. Corvettes are made in the good old US and available at nearly every Chevy dealer. Badass looking and performing cars. Smaller too. I find the bigger the car, the more annoying and challenging to drive. Thats why I don't like Hondas.. compact but so obese. But I agree with you here, Corvettes are a way better choice.

The Lambos and Ferrari's usually handle better due to the Mid engine design and accelerate better because the American car companies haven't figured out how to properly put 500 hp down right away. The Japs have it figured out though, with their awd designs. BMW M3's are beasts at the track, but a Evo's still going to be cheaper.

@alexhc09 Except there are no Lambos Ferraris or Porsches within triple the ZR1 or ACR Viper's price range that can keep up with them on any race track around the world.
However the new Porsche 997 GT2 RS although not released, recently beat the ZR1's Nurburgring lap time by a few seconds....although it cost over $200k USD (little more than double the ZR1) it is going to be the new production car king, the title the ZR1 has held since it released.

Nope, I just know that you can get 99% (or more) of the performance of a Ferrari for 30% (or less) of the price if you buy a Corvette. And top that off with cheap maintenance and reliability that is leaps and bounds above any Ferrari. Even if I were a billionaire, it is quite possible that I would have a ZR1 instead of any Ferrari. If either of us is a koolaid-drinking, Fox News watcher, it is you. I have the rationality to recognize the value of a Corvette vs a Ferrari.

Build quality is terrible huh? Ever see daily-driven Ferrari? Didn't think so. A Corvette is no Toyota/Honda, but its very reliable (indicating decent build quality).
Leaf springs are only a small part of the rear suspension. It's not a truck. Where else do you get 436hp and great handling for $45k brand new?
Prestige? Don't care, although the Corvette is plenty "prestigious". Just want a fast, reliable car that looks cool. Corvette fits the bill perfectly.

I know people that have Ferrari's as dailt drives. Corvettes fall apart, the keyless go system on the zr1 breaks on 3 out of 5 examples, the bootlock disitegrates. The seatbelt comes away, the interior has been reported to smell like glue. The panel gaps inside are nearly an inch. It is a terrible motor vehicle.

I'm not force fed anything. I use to hate Corvettes too. But if you do the math, there is no other car that can perform so well for so little money. And no self-respecting person would rather have a Daewoo than a Corvette.
I have news for you- all American cars have fit and finish issues. In fact, the Corvette is pretty much the only American car I would buy.
Unless you are rich and can afford a Ferrari, Lambo, etc., the Corvette offers similar performance for a fraction of the price.

@nkx1 corvette is far from reliable. If you look at all the Technical Service Bulletins for each series. You can definitely tell their build quality. My cousin owns a F430 and quality is non comparible.

I currently have a Toyota Solara (most reliable car I've ever had), and there are a ton of TSBs for it. TSBs, therefore, would not be an accurate metric of reliability.
I don't know anyone with a Ferrari, but you can go on any Ferrari forum and quickly conclude that Ferrari's are not a car that can be daily driven without significant maintenance. Conversely, there are many people that daily drive Corvettes. Therefore, it can be reasonable concluded that Corvettes are more reliable.

I apologize. I was referring to the tsb for mechanical failure. Also corvettes cannot be daily driven without significant maintenance either. Ask any owner of a corvette who drives their car everyday and properly maintains it. Also see how fast their trannys go.

There are no TSBs for Corvettes regarding mechanical failure to my knowledge, except the steering lock problem on C5s (easily fixed). So that point is pretty moot.
A Corvette can be daily driven just fine. Just go to corvetteforum(dot)com and you'll see there are many, many people who do so.
I've never heard of eminent auto or 6spd tranny failure from daily driving a Corvette. There are C5 Corvettes with well over 100k on them and still running just fine (reference corrvetteforum site).
