The French starred (including the Moroccans) as superb mountain troops who circled the German defenders eventally defeating them. The other stars were of course the Germans who defended against multiple armies. The New Zealanders captured key objectives, but had little (tank and artillery) support and were unable to hold them.

To all French people. New Zealanders have always respected the French as brave men. You only need to go back as far as the Battle of Cassino to see that. It was the French mountain troops that caused the breakthrough there. They took a route that the Germans though impassible. Also, the troops under Napoleon were superb, even though the country took on all comers, not a wise move.

ZEtruckipu. Ne Zealanders like the French too. We never forgot the bravery of French troops in WW2. The French fought alongside us in the Aurunci campaigns. The was probably New Zealand's biggest campaign in WW2, which the English and Americans have never heard of. The Germans certainly know it.
As for the destruction of the Taliban people, New Zealanders have nothing against them. In fact Afghans have a good name in New Zealand and are seen as decent hard working people.

Yes. The Aurunci campaign is the overall fighting in the area. Monte Cassino is one of the hills in this mountain range, There was a lot of heavy fighting there. The French starred (including the Moroccans) as superb mountain troops who circled the German defenders eventally defeating them. The other stars were of course the Germans who defended against multiple armies. The New Zealanders captured key objectives, but had little (tank and artillery) support and were unable to hold them.
