  • Guess what. I've got a fever, and the only prescription is more tambourine.

  • wish i was a teen in the 90s im 14 and i love 60s 70s 80s and 90s music and a little 2000s music but especially 80s and 90s music.

  • My favorite song by one of my favorite bands!!! And I hear ya' guys; I plan on never buying anything that I see commercials for on youtube. Its just like : arn't there enough commercials EVERYWHERE ELSE???!!!

  • I love 80's and 90's music, too. Just like my parents' liked their oldies. If you don't like it, you can get off my lawn.

  • I come on here to view VEVO and these songs keep popping up and interrupting.. What the %$&^ ...

  • To VEVO = Any vid you go, we'll dis your ass down...

  • Forgot about these guys. Great 90's I was 30 playing Oasis, Gin B, Third Eye Blind.

  • The Most Unforgettable Song.

  • What key is his harmonica in?

  • @JPtheHULK234 Think it's C, I have a C in my hands right now and it sounds liek it.

  • Nirvana and Pearl Jam are so overated. This band is sort of, but still.

  • Has anybody seen my tambourine?

  • @tool4132 I think you left it at your low paying, 9-5 job..

  • @swordkata Low paying 2:30-1 job thank you.

  • @maccadiodrums, Doug Hopkins DID die. He committed suicide in 1993.

  • @miranduhsloane Correct he was in rehab and sneaked out of the hospital bought a gun and killed himself the next day.

  • Saw them in concert a month ago. Best live band I've seen in a LONG time, maybe ever.

  • I fucking love this band. One of the most underrated bands.

  • Just so you know VEVO, I boycott every product you have a commercial for here

  • @FanOfPopCulture we despise you VEVO. DESPISE your nasty greedy hands wrapped into our music like strangling vines.

  • @FanOfPopCulture Yep me too, I hate that shit.

  • @FanOfPopCulture Even Pink Floyd, no exception.

  • I had to listen to a stupid rap commercial song for 23 seconds cause of Vevo instead of real music like the Blossoms wtf

  • @EnglishRock197 download adblock plus. no commercials

  • They play this kind of music, just not on the same stations. You guys need to quit whining, I'm 27 and miss these songs too, but its the radio stations not the music, get Sirius or find other stations 'cause it seems like your problem is stubborness. /2cents

  • @Jaryism They also sell it

  • @JesterKage427 thats not a slam on jary but on others whining about radio

  • Nostalgia - A memory dipped in a riddle wrapped in a dream.

  • when will this music come back as top 40 cuz every time i hear 90s bands or see their music videos, it brings back memories and when MTV had an equal amount of music with reality...this music is WAY better than now speaking as a 19 year old :|

  • Comment removed

  • @gothatway09 Yep it it`s a cycle get used to it, It is called "The Circle of Life"

Everything comes back around no need to get huffy and puffy about it :)

  • Can't get over how much the Gin Blossoms sound like 38 Special- obviously 38 Special was an influence

  • @ohso41 You really can't be serious can you? On what planet do you live? That was more like southern rock . . . these guys are not southern rock lol.

  • @maccadiodrums

I'm very serious, 38 Special was certainly not Southern Rock, more Pop Top 40. In fact when 38 special came out with their "comeback" CD in 1997, at that point, THEY actually sounded more like the Gin Blossoms than 38 special. Listen to Fade to Blue off that CD

  • @ohso41 38 Special is Southern Rock man,. Sorry. You are wrong as wrong can be.

From Wikipedia: "In 2007, 38 Special was the opening act on Lynyrd Skynyrd and Hank Williams Jr.'s Rowdy Frynds Tour, and on September 27, 2008, they filmed a CMT Crossroads special with country singer Trace Adkins, performing both artists' hits from over the years"

Lynyrd Skynyrd... I suppose you think they are alternative pop, right?

  • I luved this song in the movie how to lose a guy in ten days

  • Its not healthy to live in the past, so I say move on.

  • I don't know, im a little excited about this decade in music. The Black Keys' Brothers album was amazing. And Even though shes more on the pop side, Adele has a great bluesy side. Same with Florence and the machine. Foster the people has a great california sound, also. There are definitely some great sounding bands out there, sometimes you just have to look for 'em.

  • Forgot this song existed. Glad I accidentally clicked it.

  • PLEASE COMMENT IF YOU KNOW WHERE THIS SONG WAS A THEME SONG ON!!! i've been tryin to figure this out for the past month plz and thnx :D

  • @nerdilieHK

Well, it isn't exactly it's "theme song," but it did play at the end of How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.

  • @The13music13 i swore it played on the show Boy Meets Girl, but i cant seem to find the proof

  • @nerdilieHK ........Friends....

  • was it "Friends"....

  • @freespiritartist2 oh dear i really dont know, maybe lol

  • @freespiritartist2 The Friends theme was by a band called The Rembrandt's

  • Now that the 2000-2010 decade is over I can confidently say it was the worst period in music ever. It didn't even have a style of its own, it was just a shitty stagnated version of the 90's

  • @rmtaks there was actually some great music in the past decade such as green day and jet and blink 182 and sum 41 and older bands like u2 and bruce springsteen were making comebacks

  • Such a sad story for the guitar player. 9 days after getting a gold record for "Hey Jealousy" he committed suicide in Phoenix early in his early treatment for alcoholism.

  • @azrock4ever No . . .I don't think so . . .I saw them live in Kansas City last year, and both of their original guitar players were there . . . unless you are speaking of some earlier player that I am not aware of.

  • @maccadiodrums nope he died.. watched on mtv news when it happened.. sorry.. so sad..

  • @maccadiodrums Dude... I explained the story and added details to it. They are Phoenix local band... I am from Phoenix. I didnt say "I think he died". I gave details. You realize that there is more than one person in this world who plays guitar right? So it's quite possible someone learned his songs on THEIR guitar.

    Just saying....

(dude, Google your concerns next time)

  • 10-11-2011. Ain't it fine? Scott Johnson is 49 (like myself). Happy Birthday, Scott.

  • Like this if you were watching How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and it brought you here :)

  • #1 stalker song of all time! :)

  • 9 people are out of their freak'n mind.

  • I remember waiting for the radio to play this song so that I could record it. The internet has made it really easy for todays poor teenager to hear good music.

  • I miss the 90's.. Best music!

  • @nerobinson2806 I too miss the 90's! Such good times!

  • I miss the 90's.. Best music!

  • this guys voice reminds me of maynard james kennan of tool and apc

  • they are playing at my restaurant on oct 7th ...cant wait!!!!! =)

  • Makes me glad to have grown up in the 90s. Love them!

  • @Amandajbee86 Fuck yeah 90s kids! :D

  • @Amandajbee86 amen to that! :)

  • I love this band.

  • @coreycarpenter09 and the older you get, the more you miss the past, your youth, the good old days etc. sad but true.

  • @SomethingReal1119 well said.u kno what they say" i wish i could go back but i cant".that's lame cause i really wanna go back and play fight with my brothers.oh well.

  • @coreycarpenter09 i hear you. I miss the late 70's and early eighties(high school/college). However I have learned that our minds have a wonderful way to at least temporarily relive the 'glory days,' with the help of music, the right company, and a few glasses of wine. Sensory musical mood adjustment can be a wonderful substitute and truly needful in the stressful climate we endure. Be glad to enlighten you further if you're at all interested.

  • @jeff62rey that was deep

  • @coreycarpenter09 No one in their right mind back in 1995 or 1996 thought those were the glory days I can tell you that. I was 19-20 at the time and now I'm in my mid 30s. People thought grunge, gangsta rap and trashy day time talk shows were the end of society, the same way people thought Elvis was the devil in the 1950s. I used to think the early 80s were magical because I was like 4 or 5 years old at the time. But that was just an illusion from childhood.

  • @gothatway09 After sifting through the comments it was really nice to read your comment, Thanks :)

  • This band is a Replacements rip-off without the substance. I like this song cause it brings back memories but they really owe a lot to Paul Westerberg.

  • @JHAM3232 You're a butt pumper

  • @JHAM3232 I do agree that they were influenced by the Replacements and I am a big fan of the Replacements. Ripp off however is not what I would call them. New Miserable Experience is a great album and if you are going to be influenced by someone why better than the Replacements.

  • @JHAM3232 Also I realize this song is not from New Miserable Experience

  • I'm a 90's baby and I grew up listening to 70's and 80's music because that's what my parents listened to. When I was old enough to distinguish between artists and times and styles, I always thought this music was cool. Now that I listen to bands such as Gin Blossoms or Matchbox Twenty, etc. I get this really sad feeling of nostalgia knowing that I could have lived during this time. I'm not saying that the 70's and 80's were bad, but the 90's DOES have a sense of freedom and emotion to it..

  • This is possibly the first song I can remember back when I was four...

  • The song from the VW commercial is very similar, particularly the melody and to a lesser extent the rhythm. Similar, not identical. Now, whether or not this means Active Child "ripped off" The Gin Blossoms is another issue entirely. But to say they aren't comparable implies you are tone deaf.

  • Thank God for the internet. How else would we still be able to enjoy decent music?!

  • @OlderThanTime09 amen my friend.

  • I personally think the 90s music has better feel and meaning to it then the 80s music but like i said not down the 80s music at all thought some was good but alot is also cheesy.

  • If you think 90s music like this sucks you have no good taste in music. I will agree with you on the 80s having some good music but alot of the 80s stuff is so overrated today. Most the kids growing up now are just trying to be cool and think they know everything when they clearly don't. Its either kids today think being emo 80ish and gays cool or think they know everything about everything when they clearly don't.

  • thumbs up if youll be listening to gin blossoms in 2021

  • @thrashdouche21 only if i make it that far

  • @thrashdouche21 - If I'm still alive then, I will!

  • People who click dislike on this video are liberal pro-war idiots who support Obama and Bush's wars in the middle east where the U.S. spends billions to invade and brutally occupy sovereign nations where we force them to accept democracy as a form of government at the expense of our taxpayers and the cost of countless lives of innocent U.S. soldiers and civilians. Real Americans know the U.S. should spend that money to create new jobs and take care of America first! Gin Blossoms 2012!

  • @hectorsalinasisback LOL!! Okaaaaaay . . .

  • This is the most likes to i've ever ever EVER seen to song compared to dislikes thats amazing

  • yes, underated and timeless. what a voice--what guitar...love it all--plus Robin Wilson is a very humble, normal guy---handsome guy -who followed his dreams. love them!

  • THUMBS UP IF YOU RECOGNIZE THE REMIX OF THIS SONG ON THE NEW VOLKSWAGEN COMMERCIAL!!

    They totally ripped them off!!

  • @CorvusOfMellori What are you talking about? The Volkswagen commercial you speak of used a song called "When Your Love is Safe" by a group called Active Child. I actually don't like this Gin Blossoms song....reminder of Friends is a reminder I don't need. A drama comedy full of indecisive whiny wankers.

  • @CorvusOfMellori

The similarities between "When Your Love Is Safe" and this song are quite minimal, my friend.

  • @Oryiun WOW, just watched that VW commercial and then listened to the theme song and read some of the comments and ya in now way shape or form are these two songs similar. If so than Alanis Morrisette should sue this band, hence Jagged Little Pill Album. #getagrip

  • @Oryiun you're joking...

  • Great fucking Pop song. Love his album start to finish. The only band I never got a chance to see that I would have loved to seen

  • My uncle is the bassist, Jesse Valenzuela...just sayin' he RULES!

  • I saw them preform this in Santa Crutz and it was really cool!

  • only a 1,500,000 still get what real music is, soooo sad... Pure talent right here. Fuck you Beiber and all they other so called "musicians in the pop world"

  • @dwattzdrummer 1980's music blows this music clear out of the ball park, plain and simple. Of course 1960's music blows 80's music out of the water. 1990's music was inadequate.

  • @Jason99942 then why are you listening to this kind of music? get the fuck outta here and go listen to your shitty 80s music.

  • 7 People like Justin Bieber

  • This song brings back memories of not having a single care in the world. Back then the only care was girls, pot, drive ins, and gas money.. And that was the world to you back then. Funny how things change. If only we could go back to those days.

  • cant wait to see these gin blossoms in concert again this week..dont care if its 100 degrees out,,,they're 1 of the best bands to come out of the 90's

may they play forever,,,i'll be listening .

  • high school 1995-1999 awesome time yo!! loved it :D

  • @davisfontanes Yeah. I was in high school 96-00, great times great music back then!

  • This song was the basis of my childhood. God bless the 90's. Why isn't music like this anymore?

  • thumbs up if you're listening to "Follow You Down" in 2020

Gin Blossoms - one of the greatest in the history of Alternative

  • 90's brought back the tamborine hard core.

  • Makes me think of my best friend... She is my ex, but I still love her, and we're still best of friends...

  • Thanks to the Gin Blossoms for an awesome show in Des Moines!

  • "anywhere you go, ill follow you down"

    psh.... stalker xD

nah im kidding, good song though :D <3

  • i hate starbucks. go away ad

  • subscribe to me! watch my vids dudes!

  • gin blossoms- probably one of the most underated bands of all time

  • @nicahabeutm agreed

  • @nicahabeutm When were they underrated? Pretty sure in their time everyone knew who they were.

  • Comment removed

  • @nicahabeutm Not probably, but rather most assuredly! And this is from a 70's rocker.

  • too bad I was in daycare when this song came out...I got stuck with the sucky music generation.

  • @Lennahisapunkrocker For real. I was in preschool 1994-96 but luckily I remember a few things from back then!

  • @Lennahisapunkrocker not at all...., music is when you find it

  • @Lennahisapunkrocker You obviously aren't looking for more indie bands if you say something like that. Some of the best music is being written and performed RIGHT NOW. It's just that 25% of it is just below mainstream, and the rest of it is almost COMPLETELY unplayed on radio stations. Blame the corporate music industry which is killing... the music industry.

  • @Lennahisapunkrocker Music is timeless for those who appreciate it.

  • Hearing this great song almost always brings back good memories of being a young and carefree 19 y/o back in 1996

  • i don't know but this song reminds me of living in Silverlake, Cali....it just has that vibe

  • just jumpin off a bridge is just the farthest that I've ever been........Gin Blossoms ROCK!...but still I cannot remember anything, but all the knots I've tied have come undone.....who has ever felt that way???

  • 6 people are gangsters that listen to nothing but gangster rap.

  • I always get excited when this song come on my local radio station... =D

  • 6 couldn't follow!!!!

  • (C)2004????????? This album came out in 1996.....where have you been?

  • Saw them last summer at the Canyon Club; awesome show! Great band!

  • aayyye i just got home from greek fest. it was great. they rocked

  • I just seen them in concert tonight here in kalamazoo MI. awesome band loved the show, way to go guys cant wait to be sitting in the front row next summer!!!!

  • Am I the only one who doesn't hate the music of this time? I don't really hate any genres, i have heard music I liked come from any of those genres, and to me, music, as long as it is performed about something that the artist is passionate about, is fine and fun to listen to.

  • This song used to be my favorite song when I was 4 years old. My dad used to play this all the time. Now I think back and wanna cry. Haha

  • @x813xGODz damn! I was 15 and in love! lol

  • This song brings back a ton of good memories of being a young and carefree 18 y/o back in the mid 1990's

  • this band is so under rated

  • This song is ridiculously good.

This music video, however, is ridiculously bad.

  • a good tune :-Q my clint eastwood face

  • Why the fuck do they have to advertise

  • @taffers5 to make money dumbass

  • Everytime I hear this song I think of How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and Matthew McConaughey. : )

  • GIN BLOSSOMS ROCKK...yesterday, today, TOMORROW!

  • "derp derp 90s music is better new musik suks ass"... it's getting annoying seeing this over and over again on every single video I click on.

And yes, there was good music back then, but a lot of it, especially pop, was pure shit. You were all just too young to remember.

  • @wilkes85 EXACTLY! This song stands up.. they aren't remembering the shit that didn't stand the test of time.

  • I just saw these guys live tonight. They look so old. Really makes me think about how much time has gone by.

  • @PeoplesWar ...so we all are older....tell me these guys, this video, wasn't as hot as u and me in the "DAY"....grow up............"anywhere u go, I'll follow you down, but not THAT FAR!"

  • I love that sound.

  • Comment removed

  • @holdenkovach you should probably post it as a response. promoting it this way makes you look like a spammer. Just tryin' to be helpful.

  • The song was recorded in 1996 and is one of Gin Blossoms two hits off off the Congratulations Im Sorry album.

  • Was this really 2004?

  • @TheDevuh no, i remember watching this in the mid 90s

  • Been listening to a LOT of "Pullman Standard music," ---same genre---and just have missed this band until this past weekend. Helps when their close family recommend their 'kids' GREAT bands!!!

  • I go to youtube forums for all my political debates.
