I saw this movie on TVO last night, and it's superb. It also demonstrates the stupidity of all those Sex Offender lists, because the molester is almost always someone well known to the victim and family.

This movie is shocking and to the point but, it conveys a huge message about sexual abuse and the aftermath. Keep in mind this is a film, so I imagine parents would allow their children to play these rolls to educate others. If you remove those scenes with the children then it takes away from the character developement. It tells a story, regardless how uncomfortable it is.
@Apsitis though I felt really ill-at-ease while watching that movie, I have to admit that it is pretty good. Or let's say, the actors were great. I wouldn't have the courage to play Joseph's part. And I do know as well that it is based on genuine facts, still I had a hard time keeping my eyes open during certain scenes.
But there's one point I don't agree with you: parents who let their little children play in such movies are money-hungry bastards and it has nothing to do with educating others.
@sashagala I want to say I remember reading that the scenes were split up. But I'm not sure. I know that Asia Argento shot certain parts of The Heart is Deceitful Above All Things in a way that would protect the child actor... I hope Araki did the same.

Harold Budd is known for his haunting ambient compositions and his work with Brian Eno, Robin Guthrie is one of the founding members of the now defunked but still one of the most important bands ever the Cocteau Twins, who's ethereal music is some of the most beautiful you will ever experience.
Just watched this and no film has ever had such an impact on me in almost 19 years! It was disturbing and upsetting yet beautiful. I would recommend this to anyone. This is the kind of film you don't forget.

Him being oh so attractive makes it that much better(: But if you can't handle gay scenes then don't watch this movie..

this movie wasnt as disturbing for me (i felt really awkward watching the sex scenes, so i fast forwarded lol) but even the freaking glimpses scared the crap out of me, especially the scene in the bathroom, where the guy beat him. i was seriously about to choke up in tears..... this movie is so beautiful in so many ways. btw the coach IS A BASTARRDD!!!!!! @HellAngelsBells i reckon it's worth watching. just make sure you have tissues on you , it's really sad. the meaning behind it is deep though. or, read the book. for me, words tend not to jump out at me as much as movies. so maybe read the book first if your worried.

You HAVE to watch the whole thing - I know the scenes are a little hard to watch, but you have to sort of look past them and rather into the meaning behind them and the characters involved, because this movie really does have a magnificent story. There's virtually little to no plot line, (there is, but it's not your regular plot line) but it's mostly about character development. Try to watch the whole thing if your nerves let you the 2nd time around.

This film is so heartwrenchingly sad that I had to stop watching for a few minutes because I was sobbing so hard. Especially after what happens to Joseph. I think this was an amazing movie, probably one of the best i've seen. I love joseph gordon Levitt, and I think this was one of his best movies too. Him being oh so attractive makes it that much better(: But if you can't handle gay scenes then don't watch this movie..
