I was on this flight! 1st row of fiesta class. I can't believe it's almost three years. I was fortunate enough not to get hurt when we crash landed. I really thought we were gonna die as we were still at a high speed when we ran out of runway. Good thing no one was seriously hurt. I thank God for my second life.

its not actually to short for jets to land.. it has a 6450ft long runway.. and a a319/a320 has a take off run of about 4500ft.. so it has 2000ft of runway left.. NOTE: tagbilaran airport has even a shorter runway, but why does a319/320 land there? and a even cebu pacific uses there a319 to caticlan when there flights to and from caticlan are canceled due to diverted/canceled flights due to storms.. T_T
try to book a flight to caticlan when a storm is comming, and be sure the storm would hit bicol area.. then you will see.. i have rode 4 times to and from caticlan with a a319 with cebu pacific..

This was found to be pilot error. Concerning airline safety, PAL's record has been equitable, if not superior to other comparable airlines worldwide. Plus, it is interesting to note that PAL maintains some of the aircraft of Mag-Cebu Pacific. PAL maintenance personnel are some of most highly trained in the world. My husband now works for a major U.S airline and can attest to the fact that PAL trained maintenance personnel are sought for their competence.

I plan to become a regular customer of Philippine Airlines and I trust them to be incident-free from now on. I flew them Vancouver-Manila then to Tacloban from there. When i return in November I will fly them for that trip too mostly due to the fact of their dedicated Terminal 2 at NAIA makes connecting easier. Godbless.

I was at Butuan airport the morning this happened.
The butuan runway is way to short for landing jets there.The pilot simply overshot the landing.
PAL .... is not a very safe company to deal with.What they had in place the morning this crash happened was a joke.

im filipino i can understand but can not pronounce pal has bought the newest fleets they bought a 777-200er and they have more destinations and it goes farther range cebu pacific only has a A320 it can only go 3-5 hours

I plan to become a regular customer of Philippine Airlines and I trust them to be incident-free from now on. I flew them Vancouver-Manila then to Tacloban from there. When i return in November I will fly them for that trip too mostly due to the fact of their dedicated Terminal 2 at NAIA makes connecting easier. Godbless.

Iam an Aussie who was on holidays travelling from butuan to bislig city
and I was at the airport when this happened.
That plane PAL was from Manila and was suppossed
to drop passangers off at Butuan.I and others were to board the flight back to manila.
Scarey shit ... when your sitting at a very small airport and you hear this almighty roar as you see the plane disappear into housing
